Hopefully your mom can keep up with all the games, but Coach Kacey keeps telling us that even if we show up late that's okay too.
Did your dad get to race? Hopefully the battery revived. However, it sounds like your mom has a good set up to be at the track now that they have the wifi and she can keep up with blogs and whatnot and not be in the wind and sun directly either.
Aunt Denise made our split bazebol pic and after mom retrieved it from the email had a bit of trouble figuring out (with the new puter) where it went let alone getting it to show up in BC. Obviously she got it done, heehee, but not sure how! It's a mystery why moving pics from one place to another it doesn't just go where ya want.
Interesing Preakness race yesterday. Guess it was a sorta longshot that one with the 15 to 1 odds. When we saw that Orb got the rail spot we figured that would be hard to win from.

Sounds like the papa robin is there to keep other birds at bay if he's not trading the sitting duties. Does it look like the mama robin has laid any eggs?
Yeah, bad of the store to not offer something to appease their error. Sugar said the same that her store would've done whatever to make the customer happy. Mom's work does the same, not that they do cakes, of course, but they do what they can to find items at other locations when theirs is sold out.
Wow, most of the flock is involved in bazebol and Rosie is calling games? That's gotta take a lot of your mom's time getting you all to practice and the games. We look forward to playing against Taz and the white hawks on Tues.
Good luck to your dad on his race and can't wait to see pics of the garden and the new flowers.

Hi, Chica,
Not sure if smaller thorns are any less painful than the big ones, heehee. Still, if they aren't as long then might have a chance of 'em not poking thru garden gloves if one is wearing 'em.
Guess if the mama robin lays eggs you'll see her just sitting on 'em for days on end. Not sure if robins trade sitting? The male feeds the female? The ones that nested in our lemon tree the parronts didn't discover until the babies were a couple days from fledging.
Our mom's never had a pedicure, but skinsis goes occasionally and often her boyfriend will get one too. She says the foot massaging is really nice. Too bad something like that can't be done for your mom's foot. Good that your flock isn't scared of the colorful nails your mom had done.
It was our dad's BD recently. He went a few days back to order a cake from the bakery at Safeway since it's in the same shopping center as the coffee shop (where skinsis works) he goes to and visits with his friends. When he went to pick it up the bakery had made all their orders except for dad's! Not sure what happened so he just bought a cheesecake instead. Mom was at work but thought it rather bad of the store to lose a customer's special order. Today mom made him an Angel Food cake and got some super fresh strawberries to go with.
She made spaghetti with mini meatballs for dinner. We got some plain and so did Boza. Mom dropped it in the doggie food dish and didn't see the dog eating it, but when she looked later it was gone.
Was it your team that played the keets? Seem to recall you saying many in the flock have games. We just aren't sure who is on what team. Guess our first game will be against Taz and the white hawks. We've been practicing a lot so hope we do well and don't embarrass ourselves.

Glad to hear your garden is looking so well. So far, our spring has started off very cold and mom is really disappointed in the way things look. Hopefully, by Memorial Day weekend , it should look better. Tell Jewels not to worry, she and Curlin did fine. Just ask my frother Charlie who is just so infatuated over your sweet little fister! Thanks for the congrats on our winning the derby hat award. We were surprised and honored.
Do the mini roses have as many thorns as the regular size rose bushes? Sometimes furball will chew a rose bush twig, silly girl.
Doves never do much as far as nest making is concerned. Hopefully your mom will be able to get some pics. Think it was it Callie's (Peetie/Paulie/Mango) mom that got pics of the one near them, so cute. Dad's gotten a few what fors from mama birds when he's doing stuff near the lemon tree where there's at least one nest, if not more.
We knew that Jewels and Cori didn't have a great chance since both of 'em were on the outside starting positions, but we like to encourage the girl jockeys and one of these milongas one of 'em will win. Too bad your flock forgot to place bets, we nearly didn't remember either.
Giving the new plants extra fertilizer/vitamins sure helps get them healthy. Our dad needs to give some to our plants to perk 'em up a bit, but so far our weather has been fairly good. We are back to the 70s, but think southern CA is still broiling and back east is still cold. Hope you've cooled a bit too.

Yes, I agree, it has been a busy, crazy week. Mom received you mom's email and wants to spend time (just like she does when she talks with Mamma Rose) answering her. Miniature roses would look awesome most anywhere. The bright colors are very striking.
The wild animals often never live their potential lifespan for lots of reasons. How fun to watch the nest building and soon they'll have eggs and they'll hatch and then babies to feed.
The doves around here do tend to nest away from the birds who nest in the trees. Never thought about them not wanting to be near other birds.
Perhaps your mom would be able to get pics and good that they nested away from the water dripping. Oh, they won't have to go far to get a drink.
We plan to be at the milonga. Finally got over to RaneBeau's and made our bets. We will be rooting for Jewels and Cori as we just had to bet on girl jockeys.

Hi, Chica,
That's great that so many birds flew over for your hatchday. The cake looks quite delish.
Didn't realize there's gonna be 12 new trees, wow. What kind are they? Seems like lots of birdie parronts are in flower planting mode. Nothing new being planted here, but the roses are blooming like crazy, so full and brightly colored. Mom saw some bees in the lemon tree and that's good since bee population has gone down too low.
Perhaps the dove was concerned over the robin pair moving in next door. Hopefully both will relax, build nest, lay their eggs, raise babies. Is there a plant in the hanging basket?
Today mom's day off so shopping is in order. She's gotta find a new pair of pants for work, get feathers trimmed, buy groceries, etc.
Cooled off here after our week of 80s temps. So nice to be back to our mild spring. Never got any rain, but sure glad Southern CA did to help with their wildfires.

Finally! Our mom is getting to your page. What a morning she and dad had trying to get her music and photos offa that passport drive thingy. The instructions are not clear enough. Took both of 'em to get it done. They didn't get to the flea market. She was able to deleted those two programs off the old puter, but it still didn't have much space free! Then she found some hidden files of backed up deleted items and got rid of 'em and it still didn't clear out much more, <sigh>.
Oh, yeah, mom got a new laptop that has wayyyyy more space than the lil netbook. The store they went to didn't have any in stock so they called another store who had one left so the parronts went there and got it. In the heat. Midafternoon. Lots of traffic. Has to send in a rebate to recover some of the cost. Hmmm, windows 8 isn't as awful as she's heard, just haveta learn where stuff is and how to access it.
Good that your dad has the tent to provide some shade. 70s is very warm if in the direct sun. How did the races go?

Hi, Chica,
Waaaaayyy too warm around here. Hovering close to 90s. Think nearby San Jose got 90 something yesterday but ours was only (hah!) 88 when mom checked. Similar today so after mom got home from work in she stayed with the nice a/c going. No cooking that'll heat up the house. Just sandwiches and salad.
Mom is slowly figuring out the windows 8. Not as horrific as stories she's heard. Not sure what the big deal is. Okay, has been hard to find certain applications, but poke around long enough do find 'em, now just have to remember where it is located...
Good that the dove is well protected. The couple that nested on top of the a/c unit one year and then on the electric meter another made a very shallow nest and don't know how the eggs stay secure. At gma's house they have a bush under an overhang that dove's have nested in on occasion.
Hope it's not too hot for your dad's race. Can't recall, did they make any shady places yet? We know they finally got the wifi so that's a good thing.
Parronts will probably go to the flea market tomorrow. They always go early so it shouldn't be too hot. Then mom needs to hit the grocery since she avoided stopping anywhere the last couple days to avoid the heat.
We see that you will be 3rd basebird, great! Silver is 2nd basebird. Been practicing with some fellow players.

Assistant Coach RaneBeau here with some news you may be excited t'hear. I've got player's positions!! Yup, I do. Jake tells me these were decided by luck of the draw, literally. He and his parronts put the team players in one hat and the playing positions in another and then he supervised them each drawing one from each hat. Here's how it turned out:

A blurry picture makes for a blurry baseball photo! Send your pics either to me or to Coach Jake and if you don't have either of our addys, just ask and I'll get that for ya. While I have pics of lots of you, you may want t'see yourself in a new pose so don't hesitate to share a NEW picture with Coach Jake or myself. (His mom'll be making our team pictures.)
