Hey Jewels!
Sounds like your parronts had a nice weekend. My parronts like Chinese food too!
Tink is never fast enough to get near the squirrels. She s funny. So little...and she thinks she's a big dog. Mom and dad are teaching Tink not to bark or scare Mr. And Mrs. Duck. She is doing pretty good with that!
Glad your mom is feeling better!
We are having a BBQ party here Saturday evening! I can't wait. Time for me to entertain! Then a week later my skinsis and my cousin...a sun conure....are coming for a week to visit! I can't wait to see them!
So you dad races bikes? My dad used to ride dirt bikes years ago. How often does your dad race?

Mom is not happy tonight. She believes someone is messing with her yahoo account and she can't log in. :( She is also very upset about who won The Voice.

They had fun earlier today. Tonight they went to a little kids concert for Auntie. More fun tomorrow!

Yes I did that beautiful artwork in that picture I have been working on that project for sometime now.Its the cabinets in the bathroom.The parronts try to keep me out but sometimes the door isnt closed quick enough or someone forgets to close it all the way and in I go to work.Can you believe they are actually going to fix it?I think it looks great.
I dont think I have ever had a pinecone last longer then a day two tops.
Thats okay my team didnt win the game today I have fun playing either way.It does kind of suck my team is in the middle of a losing streak though.Have a goodnight.

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads!

Today's activity was kayaking. Mom enjoyed it for about ten minutes, until grandma made her help paddle. Then she totally hated it. She said she felt like her arms were going to fall off. :P They were supposed to see a bunch of dolphins, but they only saw two and they were far away. Mom did take some pretty pictures for you guys to see! They are in my gallery.

A guy goes to a pet shop to buy a parrot. There he sees a parrot with a red string tied to its left leg and a green string tied to it's right leg. He asks the owner the significance of the strings.

"Well, this is a highly trained parrot. If you pull the red string he speaks French; if you pull the green string he speaks German," replies the shop keeper.

"And what happens if I pull both the strings?" our curious shopper inquires.

"I fall off my perch you fool!!" screeches the parrot.

Those pinecones are the best I have only tried the coconut one and the sunflower seed one with the coconut being my favorite.Mom gives me one and I gobble it all up in a day she says I should make it last longer.Have a goodnight.

So your mom does the BBQ. Glad she isnt seeing anymore bugs!
My dad does all of the cooking, but today mom is going to BBQ for dad today being Fathers Day........so if you see my mom on the 11 o'clock news tonight you will know that it didn't go we'll! Heehee! Just kidding mom!
My mom loves to watch the squirrels too. Tink likes to try and chase them !
Oh I hope your mom is feeling better. Do you think the heat got to her?
That's nice that your dad had a nice bike ride. What kind of bike does he have?

That's a little sand shark! Somebody was fishing at the beach and he caught it and brought it up for everyone to see! Mom went to a petting zoo today! As you can imagine, she was quite thrilled, because she adores animals. There were goats, alpacas, pigs, sheep, donkeys, bunnies, a chicken, and mom's favorite, a deer. She was the only animal that was not in a pen, and she was really sweet. They got some feed for the animals, and she enjoyed feeding them. She didn't get many pictures though, because her hands were covered in slobber. :P Outside of the petting zoo, there were a bunch of beautiful horses. Mom just LOVES horses. She got to feed a big clydesdale an apple, and he got her hand so sticky! :P She, however, loved it! She was not happy when it was time to go to the beach, because her bathing suit was rubbing on her sun burn and it really hurt! Today they went to the beach at 7pm, so it wasn't very hot. THANKFULLY! The tide was coming in, and the water was all funny. Mom, Auntie Ellie, Grandma, and friends Laura and Jill went on a crab hunt! They found soooo many animals! They found 5 star fish, 2 slugs, and a bunch of clams and hermit crabs! Don't worry! She let them all go before they left. It was funner then yesterday.

He looked around nervously, shook his head, and kept looking for valuables. He heard again, "Jesus is watching you." This time he shined his light all over, and it rested on a parrot. He asked, "Did you say that?" The parrot admitted that he had. "I'm just trying to warn you, that’s all."

The burglar sad, "Warn me, huh? A parrot? Who are you? What's your name?"

"Moses."

"Well, what kind of idiot would name a parrot Moses?”

The bird answered, "The same idiot who would name a Rottweiler "Jesus”……

So, you have a dog named Harley? So do we. He is mom's big ole kick back dog, truly mellow. A squirrel once tried to get him to give chase and he just watched it go, sniffing every now and then in it's direction and followed in a slow walk to see where it would go. What kind of dog is your Harley? Our squirrels live under the small deck dad put up on the hillside as a viewpoint. We usually have babies but haven't seen a single one this year. The adults like to come out and sun or just watch the world go by. What a life, huh?
Ok, we have four fountains and several bird baths on the property. The local wildlife (turkeys, deer, raccoons, lots of birds, opossums, skunks, coyotes and more) have figured out that mom doesn't mind of they are there and give all safe passage, so they use those as their watering hole essentially. The bees, wasps, yellow jackets have also found that out. Mom has always thought bees were very cool and she did some reading about yellow jackets and wasps and found out they can have a positive presence in the ecosystem of a yard. So, she lets them be (bee, heehee). When she is filling the baths or fountains, she saves the bees, etc before they drown. They will all sworm around her, but never bother her. She has even had bees "greet" her by rolling on her arm to say hello - it's very cool!! Mom knows there are people who think she's goofy, that's ok. She's happy being her! It's like this, she thinks a life is a life and it has value and gone means forever, so she tries as much as possible to live and let live. Hope you don't mind the lengthy response.

We love to watch squirrels play, they always look like they are enjoying themselves. Do you remember the old Cyndi Lauper song? Well, mom sings, Squirrels just want to have fun!
We're all trying to get in our blogs before the horrid severe thunderstorms hit. Remember how it always rains for the Arts Festival? Well, today it's supposed to rain with a vengeance!
Mom's friend from Munich arrived last night, but he's staying somewhere else for the first week or so, so mom doesn't have to clean the spare room yet, YAY.
Today mom cleaned the aviaries and the recovery room. She did mostly birds, the main aviary is getting full of songbirds, the small flight aviary is housing Eastern Screech owls right now, and the recovery room is full of turtles. It was a fun morning.

So when is the Bird Club picnic at your house? That's so nice that there is a bird club near you. Wish we had one!
I'll bet the retirement home loved to have the birds visit! I couldn't do that. I would probably bite somebody...or poop on them!
That is so funny about the squirrels! They are cute! Every fall mom watches a squirrel run back and forth everyday along our bulkhead..back and forth all morning finding acorns and burying them! We also have fox squirrels in NC. They are black with white faces! Really neat looking! You just wonder what that squirrel was thinking running around the tree, climbing in then running around it again! Maybe it was his workout for the day! Heehee!

Good evening everybirdie! I am very lucky to be able to blog tonight, mom is busy, busy, busy! This morning and afternoon she was busy putting together all of Peatree and Jester's things, and then when grandma came home from work at seven, they went to take the two of them to Uncle Charlie's house. They didn't get back till 11pm! D: After they came home, mom started packing her stuff until she remembered that she had to blog for me! So here she is sitting at the computer instead of doing productive things. :P She still has to finish packing, roll change, clean a little bit, and a few other things.

For those of you that don't know, mommy and the family are leaving on a week long vacation to Hilton Head SC tomorrow. They are staying in a condo by the beach with grandma and grandpa's friends. I believe mom has packed every single art tool she has. XD All crammed into a little bag and a backpack, she has two sketch books, three canvases, colored pencils, water color pencils, graphite pencils, charcoal, at least 15 bottles of paint, paint brushes, erasers, a large pencil sharpener, her hot glue gun, extra hot glue, and tons of feathers. She'd have a panic attack if she didn't bring EVERYTHING. XD Oh mother!

For some reason you're attracted to anything with a bird on it... greeting cards, dishes, mugs, clothes, jewelry...

THE PLUMBER

A lady was expecting the plumber; he was supposed to come at ten o'clock. Ten o'clock came and went; no plumber; eleven o'clock, twelve o'clock, one o'clock; no plumber.

She concluded he wasn't coming, and went out to do some errands. While she was out, the plumber arrived.
He knocked on the door; the lady's parrot (did I mention she had a parrot?) said, "Who is it?". He replied, "It's the plumber.".

He thought it was the lady who'd said, "Who is it?" and waited for her to come and let him in. When this didn't happen he knocked again, and again the parrot said, "Who is it?". He said, "It's the plumber!".

He waited, and again the lady didn't come to let him in. He knocked again, and again the parrot said, "Who is it?". He said, "IT'S THE PLUMBER!!!!!!!!".

Again he waited; again she didn't come; again he knocked; again the parrot said, "Who is it?"; "Aarrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!!!" he said, flying into a rage; he pushed the door in and ripped it off its hinges. He suffered a heart attack and he fell dead in the doorway.

The lady came home from her errands, only to see the door ripped off its hinges and a corpse lying in the doorway, "A dead body!" she exclaimed, "WHO IS IT?!".
The parrot said, "It's the plumber."

Those are the grands in my gallery. Very very busy little people. Mom has still not caught up on rest and then they were gone this weekend too while we were stuck with a fid sitter.
That's great that you are able to BBQ again. We also have lots of wasps here, but since we live on a big hillside, they pretty much make their nests there which is fine with mom. She's sort of a bee/wasp whisperer. Yup, guess you could say that's weird, but that's her!

GOING, GOING, GONE!

One day a man went to an auction. There, he found an exotic parrot. He really wanted this bird, so he got caught up in the bidding. He kept bidding, but kept getting outbid, so he went higher and higher and higher.
Finally, after bidding much more than he had intended, he finally won. The bird was his!

As he was paying for the parrot, he said to the auctioneer, "I sure hope this parrot isn't defective. I'd hate to pay this much money only to find out that he can't talk!"

"Of course he can talk," said the auctioneer. "Who do you think kept bidding against you?"

PET SHOP PARROTS

A man goes into a pet shop to buy a parrot. The shop owner points to three identical-looking parrots on a perch and says, "The parrot on the left costs $500."

"Why does it cost so much?" asks the customer.

"Well," the owner explains, "that parrot knows how to do legal research."

The customer asks about the next parrot and is informed that it costs $1,000 because it can do everything the first parrot can do plus it knows how to write a brief that will win any case.

Naturally, the increasingly startled customer asks about the third parrot.

"$4,000," says the shop owner proudly.

"Wow!" the customer exclaims. "What can he do?!"

"To be honest," the shop owner admits, "I've never seen him do a darn thing, but the other two call him Senior Partner."

Your talons look lovely. The tours were good, but they're called mini tours, and should take about a half hour. Mom gets carried away, so her tours never end in the allotted time, she usually goes 45 minutes, at least. They are scheduled on the hour, though, so she has the time.
Mom actually was smart enough to check things a little further before she ran out to buy a new pump for the fountain. Turns out it wasn't the pump. Mom brought it inside to check at another electrical outlet, and it worked just fine. So, she got a heavy duty extension cord from the garage and plugged it in elsewhere. Now the fountain is up and running again, YAY! We love the way it sounds out there. Once all the weeds are pulled, as if that were possible, the yard will be perfect.
Today it was supposed to be brighter, but it's still gloomy outside. Mom knows why, though. Each year the city of Pittsburgh has the 3 Rivers Arts Festival, and each year it rains for at least half the time the festival is running. It started yesterday! Today are some meetings, tomorrow a graduation party, and Monday back to the center. Of course, it will be sunny and bright tomorrow, when mom can't go to the pool. Hope you are having a great day with lots of attention and at least some sunshine! Hugs, Falco

Anything and everything is liable to be called "GOOD BIRD!!"

RUDE PARROT

A young man named Jon received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity.

Jon tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary. Finally Jon was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. Jon shook the parrot and the parrot got even angrier and ruder.

Jon in desperation threw up his hands and grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then, suddenly there was total quiet, not a peep was heard.

Fearing that he had hurt the parrot, Jon quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto Jon's outstretched arm and said "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I am sincerely remorseful for any inappropriate behavior."

"I fully intend to do everything I can do to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior".

Jon was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. He was about to ask the parrot why he had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, but the bird continued... "May I ask what the turkey did?"

We can all meet at the spa today. Sweetpepper, Chyna, Chichi, you, and I can all get our talons done.
Not much going on here today, it's raining and mom works at the museum tonight. Today she's going shopping in a while, then will clean our cages before getting ready for the tours in dinosaur hall tonight.
Congrats to the Phoenix Base Flyers for pulling out that win yesterday. The Great Grey Wings put up a fight, it was a good game!

You have vases full of feathers instead of flowers.

FLYING FOOLS

Two morons stand on a cliff with their arms outstretched. One has some budgies lined up on each arm, the other has parrots lined up on his arms.

After a couple of minutes, they both leap off the cliff and fall to the ground.

Laying next to each other in intensive care at the hospital, one moron says to the other, "I don't think much of this budgie jumping."

The other moron replies, "Yeah, I'm not too keen on this paragliding either."

You are baking, and everyone in your house assumes it is for the birds and when it isn't, they are shocked.

MAGICIAN’S PARROT

A young magician started to work on a cruise ship with his pet parrot. The parrot would always give away the tricks saying things like, "he has a card up his sleeve" or "he has a dove in his pocket."

One day the ship sank and the magician and the parrot found themselves alone on a lifeboat. For a couple of days, they just sat there looking at each other. Finally, the parrot broke the silence and said, "Okay, I give up. What did you do with the ship?

That's too bad the robin moved on. It would have been so nice to see the babies.
The grandkids left yesterday and the house is sooo quiet. I think we are all enjoying that even though I know mom misses them. She is very tired, lol!
Our new fid is a rescue - a sun conure named Shelby and he seems to be adjusting pretty well. I like that there's another dude in the house!

Bella here! Thanks so much for coming by to vote for me! I'm sorry for not thanking everybirdie yesterday, me and mommy had NO idea what we should do for my campaign theme. After a little brain storming with grandma, we decided do a daily "You Know You're a Bird Person When...." saying, and a parrot joke! I hope you'll enjoy it. :)

You Know You're a Bird Person When

You drive around on recycling day looking for the biggest piles of newspaper to steal and feel guilty when people look out their windows and pity you.

THE COURTEOUS PARROT

A lady is walking down the street to work and sees a parrot in a pet store. She stops to admire the bird. The parrot says to her, "Hey lady, you are really ugly." Well, the lady is furious! She storms past the store to her work. On the way home she saw the same parrot in the window and the parrot upon seeing her says, "Hey lady, you are really ugly."

She was incredibly ticked now. The next day on the way to work she saw the same parrot and once again it said, "Hey lady, you are really ugly." The lady was so furious that she stormed into the store and threatened to sue the store and have the bird killed. The store manager apologized profusely and promised the bird wouldn't say it again.

The next day, when the lady walked past the store after work the parrot said to her, "Hey lady." She paused, scowled with an icy and deadly stare, and said with a hoarse voice, "Yes?" The bird, strutting back and forth on its perch in a cocky manner, said, "You know."

Raffi is so happy that Jewels has come to visit....and TinkerBelle and Harley are running around the yard barking and chasing each other! The two friends waddle down to the dock and set up the umbrella and blanket. They open up the picnic basket and pull out the peanut butter sandwiches that momma Erin made. TinkerBelle and Harley come running over to get some too! They pour two mugs of root beer! What a beautiful day. Over swim the duckies to say hello....and get some yummies too. The catfish are jumping and eating the fish food! Raffi and Jewels have a lot of catching up to do!

Mom really likes crows, and admires their intelligence, so this will be a toughie. Try putting so many rocks into the fountain that it's not deep enough for the crow to bathe. If he/she is uncomfortable enough, you'll soon be rid of that crow. When it leaves, you can remove the rocks to welcome back the smaller birds.
Mom had a delightful day at the pool yesterday. Last night, she took her sister and brother in law out to dinner, so it was nice for her. I clung to her like glue once she got back, I wasn't going to let her out of my sight! Giz was a little miffed, he didn't even want to come out of his cage, but this morning he was feeling better, and got his morning scritchies. Willie, being the little sweetie he is, just loved the attention he got when mom got back, and he didn't even mind when I got to help with the laundry and he didn't. Hope you have a lovely day today, with lots of attention, and maybe even some time outside. Hugs, Falco
