Hi! My name is Barnacle Bill

I am a Yellow-Naped Amazon from Marion, NC.

Barney, turtle lips, Bill

37 years old   M

Yellow-Naped Amazon

hot crab sandwiches, anything with cheese, nuts, chicken bones

Anywhere near my Eddie!

Very jealous of "that female" who is married to the man I love! I try to attack her whenever she is around--or slams into the cage if she goes by.

when he scratches my head

I Yell Ed's name over and over if he is not in the room I am in. I love loud noise, music, and love to sing. I can say 200 words when I wants to, which isn't as often as when I was young and the center of attention..

"Yo ho Yo Ho the parrot's life for me".

  A parrot pirate
Barney spent his first years on a schooner in the Caribbean we built in Los Angeles and chartered in the Virgin Islands. It looked like a pirate ship, and we did some pirate gigs. He was gregarious and happy and went to anyone. We moved stateside after Hurricane Hugo and he was no longer the center of attention (especially after I had a baby and spent more time raising her than holding him). Ed was home with Barney for 9 years and the bonding became even stronger, while I was gone at work every day and he became more an more jealous of me when I was home. Ed has worked outside the house for 10 years now and Barney is very jealous and will chase me if he is out of the cage trying to bite me (laughing like a maniac!) The cage has wheels so we keep him near Ed as much as possible or he yells for him. Any ideas on how to mellow him out? Thanks, Barney's mom, Gabrielle
