 My dad and I were driving around one day, just running errands, when I noticed a pet store advertising hand-fed exotic birds. We went in "just to look around" and they let us into the aviary. The baby bird they placed in my hand just happened to be a green cheek conure. He was so precious, I couldn't bear to put him back and walk away. My dad bought him for me as a graduation gift.. |

Hi! My name is Chubby
I am a Green-Cheeked Conure from Barrington, IL.
 Babygreens, cheeks, chubbs.

Jamba Juice(Pomegrana- te Paradise, from the all-fruit menu),Trader Joe's Veggie Flaxseed chips, shoestring potato sticks, strawberries, oranges, Pom Wonderful's pomegranate/blu- eberry juice.
 My little yellow hut, behind doors, among stuffed animals, inside shirtsleeves, and in corners behind jars and other large objects. My current favorite hangout is a tiny space between our Amish fireplace and the wall.
 Not being the center of attention all the time, being ignored, not being allowed to sample everything we eat (even if it's bad for him).
 She makes me (and the Cockatiels) her number one priority. She takes care of us in the morning before she does anything else. She spends all her money on toys and treats for us and cooks us fresh meals 4-5 times a week.
 He likes crawling up people's legs, eventually making his way to your shoulder. He also likes to hide in dark places and talk loudly to himself. Also he can't fly yet, so he resorts to walking around the entire house trying to find people based on where our voices are coming from!.
 "Nobody loves a Green Cheek more than a Green Cheek.".

Bird Channel’s castle page is finally in progress. With Sugar’s 2nd hatch-day coming up fast, I decided to make a huge party out of it! So I am holding a surprise party for her as the grand opening of the official Castle page.

Time: 6:00pm central time/7:00pm eastern time

There will be a beak watering feast prepared by the castle chef, Hiccup and wonderful games and activities. We will wrap it all up with a romantic dance and music sung by Holiday. We have a lot more in store for you too!

Anguis is a bird that was terrorized by a man who stole him from his rightful home and then posted Angus's torture in utube's comedy section. Please sign this petition to urge the Victoria, Australia RSPCA to find Angus and bring him to safety! Please help; if Angus were a dog there would probably have been public outcry by now, show everyone that our feathered friends deserve protection too! (if this has already been posted by someone else sorry; I saw Angus's story on a Rescue site)

How are you today? What's your weather like? Here it is finally sunny! But that wont last long. Do you have a harness? Mommy takes me out on my harness whenever she gets the chance. It gives me a way to explore the outdoors safely. It is so fun! And she also has a stroller for the cockatiels and parakeets. It's home made.
I'm almost to my goal! I think I'll hit it today or tomorrow. I'm not sure what my next one is yet, I'll have to think about it. I think some of you noticed, but I have a lot of new pictures down in the photo gallery. Mommy took them last night and she says not to blame her if some cut off my beak and head...you don't know how hard it is to keep a bird like me to stay still. :)Here's a vote!
