I am so sorry I missed your Bridge anniversary. I know it must have been a really tough day for your mom because she misses you so much and it still hurts terribly. We love her and send her our warmest thoughts and prayers!
So your little namesake and BBJ have decided to be a couple? How cute! Maybe I'll have little grandbirdies soon! I am very proud of myself - Apollo and I managed to hatch 5 babies! We took very good care of them for a week, then we got bored with it so the Cuddler took the 3 that survived to the breeder's where they are doing great. I am going to take a break from mothering for awhile, it's exhausting!

The Cuddler has been sick for over 2 weeks now with an awful cold. She can finally breathe but still has a nasty cough. She hasn't felt like blogging when she's been so sick.

Oh no, so sorry about the shingles! Sharon (the breeder) came down with them in August and she's still struggling to recover. She has no energy and some days can barely get out of bed; apparently shingles can cause a kind of chronic fatigue. We've been trying to help her when we can. That is so sweet about Annie B keeping watch over you. She sounds like a wonderful girl.
Bebop will most certainly enjoy all the same movies you do - she's very easy to please! She is excited about coming to live with you and meeting her new flockmates. Did you get my email about the hotel?

We don't know much about Shingles, but heard that it is very painful! We will put you mom in our daily prayers, for the Lord's mercy in granting a speedy recovery! How is the ring neck dove doing? Have you named him/her? How sweet of you to rescue the poor thing! Someone gave our friend the breeder two society finches at the bird fair today. Their owner went to a nursing home and passed away and they needed a new place to live. They don't have names that we know of so we're trying to think of appropriate finch names.
Little Bebop will be happy as can be if she gets to ride around on your shoulder all day! She loves attention and being with people!

Everyone here is getting really excited about the trip! Only 3 more weeks! Bebop is a little nervous and hope she fits into your flock, and she also hopes you'll give her lots of scritches since she loves them so! Poor Jabber has to drive for 2 days instead of 1 to get to her new home, so she will probably be a wreck by the time she arrives. As for the rest of us, we're going to Birdie Camp. I love it there but some of my flockmates, like Annie and Valentine, hate it. It's funny how we each have a unique personality and our own likes and dislikes.
Glad that Duke is all better and is done with his meds! I bet he's good as new by now!

Even though Annie was queen she let me visit the castle and eat millet!
Hopefully the Cuddler will get the vacation snafu straightened out tonight. Once she does, she will talk to Grandma about the dates and we'll be able to tell you for sure when we're coming. We tentatively hope to be seeing you on the evening of Thursday October 18! Of course we need to clear everything with Grandma since she's coming too.

We are getting so excited about meeting you! Have a little wrench in the works though. The new work schedule came out and they gave me the wrong week off! I have to beg and plead my manager to change it, so let's hope she's in a good mood and willing to! I really want to go to the big Orlando bird fair on the 20th. They gave me the weekend AFTER that off.
Hope all is well with you! We let Buddy Beak stay in the girls' cage for a couple days, and he started plucking them! Poor Bebop has some missing feathers on her neck now! We won't let him near her again!

Sorry it's been so long! The Cuddler has been overwhelmed with the kids' schooling, orchestra, and her own work. I haven't been on to blog in over a week. I hope all is well with your flock and with the fur and scaly sibs!
Yes, we are still planning on bringing Bebop down. Just waiting on work to post the schedule for October so the Cuddler will know what days her vacation will be. Then she will let you know when they'll be there.
She did get your email, but since she works weekends she hasn't been able to respond. She sleeps all day and works all night, and can't access her home email from work to answer. She can blog from there, however!
Poor Bebop is still molting, and is losing all her little tiny feathers right now. Everywhere she goes, she leaves a pile of them! She should be done molting by next month and will be in beautiful feather!
I do hope Duke is feeling better and the anti-mite medicine is helping! Give him a kiss for me!

Poor little Duke! I'm sorry about the mites - but I'm so glad you got the problem identified so the little squeaker can get better! The Cuddler loves guinea pigs!
The skin sibs are doing online school and so the Cuddler works with them all day, supervising their lessons and making sure they stay on track. That's why I'm not able to blog regularly. Hopefully once the kids get more comfortable and self directed I will be able to stay in touch better.
Don't worry about the long trip, we've done it the last two years so we're used to it! Plus we're always so excited about going to Florida that we never are tired that first night!

Can you believe the summer is nearly over? Less than two months to go before the trip! I found a nice travel cage at the local bird shop that I'm going to get so the girls are comfy on the long ride.
The kids and I all have bad colds right now. My head is so stuffed up I can hardly stand it! The poor birds don't understand why we're not playing with them as much, and Bebop climbs up the front of the cage every time I come in the room and asks to be let out.

Hope the poor guinea pig is okay. Do you have a good small animal vet? So many vets seem to just want to look after cats and dogs and it's hard to find one that has expertise in the little furry critters.

I can't imagine working that kind of hours in retail! I used to work retail and it's difficult dealing with people sometimes. They get so impatient and can be so rude, especially to cashiers.
I know Mama B was such a special bird! I know you miss her terribly and I do hope little Bebop helps fill the void. She will never replace her but I think she will carve her own place in your heart!
I am getting the overtime on a special assignment instead of working in the unit, and the work is really easy. The hard part is not being able to spend time with my family and flock. If I have to work 60 hours a week I'd rather do it on an easy job instead of a difficult one.

Hi Mama Jean and Angel Becky
We've got lots of human stuff going on here as well. I'm working a lot of overtime (60 hours a week) and it's straight nights, so I sleep during the day. On my day off Wednesday I had a root canal, yuck! It really didn't hurt though I was sore after the anesthetic wore off. What really hurt was the hit to my wallet!
Little BeBop is doing great, though she and Jabber are not very good friends. They have their little squabbles over territory and food. Bebop wins the territory battles since she can fly better, but Jabber wins the food battles because she sits right in the middle of the treat dish and won't let BeBop near it! They are so funny to watch. Every morning BeBop flies to the top of the bookcase and bows and displays her wings like she's saying to the other little girls, "I'm queen because I can get up here and you can't!"
She's starting to molt, too. She will have a brand new coat of feathers when you see her!

I am glad you made it home safely after the eye exam! Aren't you glad you don't have to do it again anytime soon?
I know what you mean about "bird withdrawal" - my hoomans suffer from it too when we're away too long. Every time they go on vacation the kids want to get home as fast as possible to see their birds, and they get several daily updates from the breeder on how we're doing.
Tom Tom sounds a lot like Buddy Beak. We have no clue about his past, but we do think he was never around other birds before because he didn't know how to behave at first either. We also know he must have come from a one story home because going up and down the stairs really freaked him out for the longest time, and that there may have been a young person in the home because he whistles the theme to an old children's show from Cartoon Network. But beyond that, he's a mystery!
The Cuddler goes back to work tomorrow night for 4 nights in a row, yuck! Hopefully it won't be too bad.

Aw, Tom Tom must look so cute when he dances!
We agree, animals have souls! How could anyone think differently?
Hope your out of town trip went well. The Cuddler and kids spent Thursday at an amusement park, and the Cuddler picked the wrong shoes to wear. She woke up Friday and her legs and ankles were killing her! She spent most of the day in bed to recuperate! She's better today but still sore, and has to go to work tonight. Hopefully she can stay off her feet as much as possible!
Little Bebop was so cute this morning, clumsily flying from person to person and begging for neck scritches! She sure does love people! Her wings are growing out and she's flying better but still has to work at it.

Wow, Tom tom is one gorgeous pied! We even showed his picture to the breeder and she thinks he's gorgeous too! All your birds are beautiful though!
Aw, your little beardie sounds like Teddy. The breeder figured out that Teddy is a dominant silver and not a cinnamon, which means he's not my baby after all. They look very similar in color when they're young. However, I developed such a soft spot for him when I thought he was mine that I'll still consider him my adopted son!
Alvin and Simon used to step all over Teddy too; just like your beardies, they weren't being mean but just being big clumsy brothers! The breeder finally had to separate them to keep poor Teddy safe! But Simon feels an attachment to him and whenever the breeder gets Teddy out for feeding, he flies over to help. When they were still together he would huddle up against the little guy to keep him warm. Anyone who says birds don't have feelings doesn't know what they're talking about!

It sounds like Miss Bop couldn't have found a more loving and wonderful home! We hope she brings you at least a little of the joy that her namesake did.
What does TomTom look like? Is he a normal gray or a fancy 'tiel?
My little boys are doing well. Teddy is still tiny, has not grown a tail, and still needs to be fed 3 times a day, but he is a spunky little fighter. Alvin and Simon are weaned but think they should still get some handfeeding daily. Alvin is shameless - when he sees the breeder mixing up the formula, he comes flying over to beg for some!

Poor Tom Tom, he sounds like our Buddy Beak. He is an older bird and we don't know what his life was like before coming to us. He found true love with Annie but unfortunately he's turned into a plucker so we had to take her away from him to keep him from plucking her bald! Hopefully if Little Bop picks Tom Tom he won't do that.

The chubby budgies went to Birdie Camp too. They love it as much as I do! It's always hard to catch them when it's time to go home because they never want to leave.
Tell Petey good luck with Miss Bebop! So far she likes human attention better than birdie attention, but when she gets a little older, I'm sure that will change! She is a pretty little girl and your boys will love her.
