Hooter's Fried PIckles 2 cups whole wheat flour 1 cup all purpose flour 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. paprika 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper 1 11 ounce jar hamburger dill pickle slices 2 cups buttermilk (to make buttermilk substitute use 1 cup milk with 1 tbsp. vinegar so this would be 2 cups milks with 2 tbsp. vinegar) Preheat 8 cups of vegetable oil to 350F in a large pot. I think you can probably use less oil to do this so experiment. Drain dill pickles in a colander and then place into a medium size bowl with 2 cups of buttermilk. Place all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Take about a handful of pickles out of the buttermilk and dredge in flour with seasonings mixture. Shake off excess flour and place battered pickles into hot grease. Be careful not to place too many pickles into hot grease at one time or they won't be crisp. Fry until golden brown. Cook until all pickles are done.Come visit me, Scion- Go Wonder Wings!, Budweiser-Go K-Keets! Sweet Potato Casserole (for humans) Well, This is one of Mom's family's favorites.... ....It is a sweet potato casserole that tastes like it could/should be dessert. Mom's been making this for years and is sure many on here probably do too. It was handed down to her by her Mom-in-law, God rest her soul, and even had variations with it. Mom says it really isn't for birdies unless you take all the topping off but here on the BC we can eat anything! So, here it is: Ingredients: 3 cups mashed sweet potato 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1/2c. of milk 1/2 tsp. of salt 1 tsp. of vanilla Directions: Mix all the above in large mixing bowl. Pour into casserole or baking dish. Topping Ingredients: 1 cup of brown sugar 1/2 cup of flour 1 cup of chopped pecans 1/2 stick of marg. or butter Directions: Mix well until crumbs form. Crumble over potato mixture to cover. Bake at 400degrees F. for 30 to 40 minutes or until brown. Mom had very little success in teaching her son to eat very many vegetables but this he would eat with gusto. It has been to many very happy occasions at our home and our family hopes you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving with yours this year! Hugs, SamIAm & MomCome visit me, The Silver Sluggers Say Let's Play Bazebol! & Sam says. LET'S PLAY BAZBOL!!!.

Waffles (made with milk) Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups unbleached flour 1/2 cup white whole wheat flour 4 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 2 cups 1% milk 2 eggs, beaten 6 tablespoons melted butter or oil Directions: Sift all dry ingredients together. Mix milk with beaten eggs and add to dry. Blend well. Stir in cooled butter or oil. (Add some fresh or frozen blueberries if desired.) Pour 1/4 cup into heated regular waffle iron. Makes about 9 waffles. Can use all regular flour and whole or 2% milk if desired. We use the light olive oil (don't want to melt butter and wait for it to cool!) Add fresh fruit of choice on top. We 'tiels love waffles. If there are any leftovers refrigerate and toast in the toaster. Can halve recipe. (Chica asked us to share a waffle recipe - she's never had them!) When we don't have enough milk we use the following recipe: See next blog.Come visit me, Pearl & Silver.
