Hi Tyler, Squak here.
Things have certainly changed since we brought Tweet home this past Saturday. He has the feeling, since he can fly, and not been trimmed, that when I am on my playstand, that it's ok for him to fly on over to my cage, and play with my toys, and gobble my food. He certainly get's plenty in his own cage, but I guess mine is more enticing to him.
There have been questions as to his sexuality, so Pops sent away for a DNA test kit, so we can be certain of it. We don't want to confuse him, like we did with me. Pops was told that I was DEFINATELY a male, and when the DNA test came back, we found out I was a SHE.
And Screech was also tested, and is a boy baby. Mom's little darling. Screech is somewhat unsure of the new kid, and kind of keeps his distance. I on the other hand have taken him under my wing, so to speak. It's pityful, to see me try to feed him. He can eat on his own very nicely, and doesn't need my help.
Well other than all of that, there's not much else new, other than a number of new pictures of Tweet, and a Flowering Pops. Thant's a joke from Uncle John, that pops asked for. And it does look like him. hee hee

Hi Tyler,
i'm not aware that i took part in an interview!!!!
Today mum's gonna tell you the 2. part & that ain't so cute!!!! It goes like this:
On her 2. last Sunday there, she paid all the birds a long visit & made the rounds, so nobirdy was feeling left out!
When she came to the one aviary, where one big amazon & several African Greys were living, one of the workers there, had the amazon on his shoulder! Mum couldn't believe her eyes & went right up to him with her hand stretched out towards the bird ( he usually was very tame & let mum scratch him & never attempted to bite her, when he was behind bars!!!)It was a big mistake, b/c he lunged forward & got mum pretty good on her right index finger! The man warned her just a split second too late not to hold out her hand to him!
Anyway, the blood was flowing, so the man offered mum to give her a band aid.
They walked together to his office, with the bird still on his shoulder. The man went inside & came out with the band aid, holding it out to mum ( big mistake on his part, b/c mum had to reach out for it to get it & the bird was still there!) As mum reached for the band aid, the amazon flew towards her like a maniac, landing on her left upper arm (with only a short sleeve t-shirt on)& bit her there, but luckily not all that hard, otherwise she'd have a piece of flesh missing! She yelled & screamed & shook him off with all her might, till he flew to the ground! Once there, he started to laugh his head off, the cheek!!!
Mum was pretty shaken & just walked away & cried a little bit, mostly out of shock! She went back a bit later to check on him & he was his old sweet self, back behind bars!
Mum's got a big bruise on her arm up to today & showed it to her family & friends like a trophy.
As for that 'Pico' she'd have loved to take him home with her....don't think i'd been impressed!!!!
Things are looking good, she saw just the laptop she wants today in an ad & plans on buying it tomorrow, so the pics are just a stone throw away!!! Mum can't wait herself to see them on a big screen!
Fancy that hurricane is called 'Irene,' just like mum!!!!
Hope it won't be a real bad one & people will be spared the worst!

Hi Tyler,
today mum wants to tell her first story from the holiday & this one is her favorite one, b/c it's got to do with...what else than.... parrots!!!!!
So here it goes: They mainly stayed in mum's home town, where they all liked it very much & all their friends live.
There's a little animal park there with lots of parrots & mum went & visited them every day.
She befriended 3 of them really well. There were mainly amazons, African grays & a lot of Australian native parrots & parakeets, but the one she liked best was a smallish, blue headed amazon. She gave him the name 'Pico' & he started listening to it pretty soon.
Whenever mum approached his aviary, he started to whistle so cute to her & got really excited . He usually sat right in the back of his enclosure, but when mum called out to him, he flew all across the aviary & landed right in front of her (inside the bars of course!)
When he was close enough to mum, he'd bend down his head for mum to scratch his head, neck & chin. He seemed to be really enjoying it & closed his eyes. Whenever she made a move & walked away from him, he'd start to sing & whistle in such b'ful tunes, that mum had to come back to him! When it was time to say bye bye, he let out this mournful cry, as if to say, don't leave me!
There was another, slightly bigger, yellow sided amazon in the same aviary, he (she) was a bit more shy & reserved, but also got interested in mum & what she was doing with 'Pico.' So he (she) eventually came over as well & wanted to be scratched, but 'Pico' wanted nothing of that & got so jealous that he bit him & chased him away, so naturally mum felt very sorry for that one & worked out a strategy. She made them both sit on a perch near her, but apart from each other & scratched them simultaneously, one with each hand! Peace, at last! In another aviary was a very cute white, yellow-crested cockatoo, who always came up to mum & wanted to just lick on her fingers & be scratched as well. He never made a sound, only looked at her with his big, black, shiny eyes! It melted mum's heart!
In the same cage was a very large B&G macaw, who's over 50 years old. Even he came up to mum & let her scratch his head, but only once!! Mum was very impressed by that & he also once, held her finger with his claw!
She's got pics of all of them & also took some videos, but as mentioned before, it'll take some time for them to be posted! Hope you liked that first story & mum promises there are more to come!

Wow, what a welcome! First you greet me so nicely & i'm also BOTD!!!!! Mum couldn't believe it when she checked her emails today & there it was, a notification from BC!
Yes, it sure is nice to have my parronts back & mum can't keep her hands off me & gives me heaps of scritches, which i enjoy so much, b/c i never let Melissa do that to me, so i had lots of stick feathers, but mum took care of them & they're all gone already!!! The stories & pics will come eventually, but not right now, mum's still far too tired!
Just one little pre-taste of what's to come: Mum befriended some parrots over there!!!!!!
She's got lots of pics & even videos!
Mum might even get a new laptop before anything can happen, b/c this one's playing up, so PLEASE be patient!

Mom and pops went to a bird show in Orlando yesterday, and me and the little brother got a few new toys. Pops is working on re-making some of our older ones I chew into little pieces. He got some new blocks, and stuff to string on the chain. Sounds Like fun.Come visit me, Tweet & Squak.

Hey there, Tyler & The Gang...
Greetings to all of you from the Channel Bird News Tower! Well, let's just say that being crowned came as a complete surprise,and like all us ladies that get to be Queen for a day, I got a little emotional. The castle is large, and airy; in fact, it's so big you don't even know it's there, due to all that excess space around you.
I've had numerous well-wishers stop by and congratulate me on how well I wear a crown, and I've striven hard to be gracious, dignified, and magnanimous as a befits a true monarch.
All I can say is that it's great to be QUEEN, bwahahahaha

You're one slick-looking bird, dude--tell me, where do you hide the microphone? Thanks for the interview; a celebrity always enjoys the opportunity to express an opinion. Well, my first reaction to learning I was bird of the day, was to roll over in the palm of my mom's hand and show my other best side. I mean, royalty really should be both charismatic AND photogenic, don't you think?
My mom complains I'm vain, but I'm too busy playing to get upset over it. The crown was a little small for my big head, but then you can't expect a comfort fit when you're royalty.
Anyway, thanks for the live interview and thanks for the vote; I pecked a vote in for YOU too! Every dude oughtta get a chance to be King for a Day, LOL

The volcano has been going since the 70's I think and is still erupting as we speak. Check out Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island and you'll see it still going.

Eh, its okay. Well, there was a black sand beach on the Island of Hawaii, but then the lava took it away along with some houses and I think pasture land too.
I think there might be some black sand beaches yet over there but they are hard to get to. You will need a 4wheel drive vehicle because they are very remote but also very beautiful. :)
