 After the passing of my dearest Spanky, my blue quaker, I wanted to get another bird. I have always wanted a Caique. I hunted everywhere for one, a man had her and lied to me about her age saying she was almost weened and lied that she was a white bellied when in fact she was a black headed Caique. I met up with him to meet her and he told me that if i didn't take her she would starve because he had places to go. It was freezing out and she was featherless and placed in a large box with no warmth. No matter his asking price I could not bare to leave her with him. I bought her and came to find out she was only 4 weeks old NOT 9 weeks old. Which was apparent due to all her pin feathers. Thank god I had experience hand feeding. I ran to the closest bird store and bought hand feeding formula and weened her all by myself!!. |

You are too pretty. Here is a vote. Mom hsd looked at Caique and almost got one. Wow, Pickles story is pretty incredible. It is wonderful that you saved her. She is only sticking with me though.
I was reading about Spanky. What a beautiful Quaker. Mom would be very upset if something happened to me. Quakers are a most special breed. We are so smart and lovable.

Hi Pickles, do you think your human would like to belong to the caique chat list? It's a good place to go if she has questions or problems with you guys, although there's also a lot of social networking. There are a couple breeders on the list too who are really helpful. Some people are so cruel, not just to birds but to everything and everyone. Thank God your Mom rescued you and had the skills to nourish you along. A lady had her beautiful well-behaved Sheltie with her in Pet Smart and a mean man hit him with his knee real hard and the dog was so scared it took off running. Some people! I am happy you have a good home, I know your Mom must be very happy with you Pickles, your photo is not showing up, I am wondering if you are my sweet friend Pickles that writes me.
