Thanks for the congrats on BOTD!
The answer to me ever escaping from my cage is yes!
Once! Mom will never forget it! I used to be kept in the back room with the door closed while the parronts were at work. I was only here about 8 or 9 months or so.
I escaped after mom left for work though my snack bowl door. Later in the day when she got home I was yelling for her to come see me. When mom opened the door I was on top of my cage saying Hi Hi Hi! Mom at first was like.. Hmmmmm, how the heck did he escape? Then she looked down on the rug and saw all of these little black things all over. She walked over to them and thats when I heard mom cry for the 1st time! Those little black things were all of the keys off of moms lap top computer!! Mom flipped out!! heehee.. It was fun so what was the big deal right? Wrong!! From that day on mom always double checks every food door in my cage!!! :)

Yes to your question, when i was a little girl i escaped from my cage when my mommy and daddy was at work and i hid under the couch..i was so scared then they had to put a lock on the cage while they were at work...but now im a big girl and dont ever do that...

sorry that I am a little late with my reply, not very appropriate for a King to keep you waiting...
Summer was super nice, lots of sunshine and we all love sunshine.
I loved being BOTD especially because I got to share it with my girlfriend Reba. She made it extra special for me.
Everything at the castle was so nice, this was truly living in the lap of luxury. All the royal staff were extremely nice and very competent.

Ahem (Tooth clears his throat and
shakes his feathers) Well, let me tell you. It was quite a surprise this morning to see my picture in the BOTD box. You see, I was supposed to be running today for BOTD tomorrow! But all my friends stopped by to make sure my vote button was working ok, and so I made BOTD on an open day, the day before I was scheduled to do it.
As for the perfect crown, well, I still wear the one my Mom got for me last year. Unfortunately, she uses that picture as her Facebook avatar, so she didn't want to feature it again this year on the BC. It really suits me, though, don't you agree? I just LOOOVE rhinestones ...they're so fun to peck at.
My favorite room in the castle---that's a hard one---there are so many to choose from. But I suppose it's the little massage room where Collette, my favorite French Hen gives me my special massage treatments. Ooooo, la la!
In conclusion, I just want to take this opportunity to thank you, the BC News crew, and all the the wonderful BC birdies and their parronts for their love and support. This is a really great place for birdies, from the littlest guys like me and you all the way up to the big macaws! I love you guys!Come visit me, The Society of Finches & Tooth.

Hello crew!
I ran for BOTD so I could show BC my art and people could get to know me. Most of our flock has run by now and the art studio hadn't so I though why not the art page? It's also a great way to meet and make new friends.
The castle was especially beautiful today! But I noticed that there is not much art in there. So I thought I would brighten it up a bit. In honor of being BOTD, I added one of my most beautiful paintings in the castle hall! And I hope all of the kings and queens to come will enjoy my art.
I love all of my paintings but I think the one "Grooming Macaw" (the page profile pic) is my favorite. I like the bright colors and the mood it gives when I look at it. It has a happy, calm look to it.

As King for the Day,
I intend t'enjoy the privilege of a WHOLE DAY of BLOGGING! My typist has told the family she and I are doin' nothin' else but hangin' out in the office. I'm likin' this winnin' stuff a WHOLE LOT!!
My favorite room in the Castle is probably the Grand Hall; I've been t'some great parties in that room. The acoustics in there are unbelievable when the band or orchestra's playing and there's plenty of room for dancin' and mingling with friends. And it's right next to the Banquet Hall which is, of course, a favorite as well.

Hey BC News Crew!
My day has been better since I got home from the vet. I broke my other leg, so we had to go get it wrapped. Other than that I truly am great! Hiccup is good, he was worried about me when I was gone. He seems okay with me being BOTD, he was BOTD a few months ago so he is glad I get a taste of the glory as well.

Hello to the crew of Channel Bird News Tower...
First of all, I'd like to say thank you for considering me worthy of media attention! Normally, I'm a shy bird, but when the spotlight does shine on me, I've been known to show off a bit, and hang upside down and swing, or even get up on my swing and put on a show. Especially if the audience is female :D
My reaction to being nominated as king for a day didn't surprise me; as the animal counterpart to Alexander the Great, I'm used to conquering territories in rapid succession. I'm not really as vain as I sound, just used to ruling, if you get my drift. Let's just say a crown fits very comfortably on my head.
My advice to future reigning kings and queens is to enjoy it while it lasts, because power and fame are fleeting, and when all is said and done, true joy is never more than a pistachio nut or a snuggle from the one who loves you best.

Well, our BOTD was planned by Sugar and her calendar page. It would have been pretty hard otherwise, so she has been a big help. I was really excited for BOTD, and on my voting day, I hoped I would get it. I also got ready to reply to all the comments I am getting, even though I have to say, it's less than the abused birds' comments when they were BOTD. We are loving the castle! We are planning to party all the way until midnight, when the new king or queen would take over. How long drawing a bird takes really depends on what kind of bird, and what picture I'm drawing from. on average, not so long, maybe 3-4 minutes, with color, maybe 7. It also kind of depends on my mood, I can be pacient, but sometimes, I just can't. Is the castle fancy enough, why yes it is beautiful here, the gardens are gorgeous.
The throne is unbelievably comfortable, I could perch here forever, if I could.

Oh! It Feels WONDERFUL!
I simply can't believe I won the Bird of the Day Award! I mean, I wasn't even a nominee or anything. It was an Open Day of voting, I do believe. I'd been out and about on the BC a couple of days earlier, writing little notes here and there to friends I've had for some four years now. I guess they all came back with a response on the same day; Sunday. Monday morning; Wa La! I'm Queen for a Day.... *Kelly's eyes tear up with happiness*

Thanks for the congratulations for BOTD/ going for 10000 votes. I ask everybirdie who visits the castle today to stop by the St Francis Chapel and light a candle/say a prayer for rain in the Southwest. NM has had .19 inches of rain for 2011. Another slurry bomber just flew over the house on its way to Los Alamos. Too many people and critters have lost their homes to fires.
