Australian Parakeet

Spray millet, carrots, hard boiled egg, kiwi, fresh pinapple, and peanut butter. YUM!

His favorite sand perch.

Swift movements, loud noises, new large objects in my cage, and that weird guy with only a few strange looking feathers on the top of his head expecting me to step onto his finger. Like that's gonna happen! Ask Xerxes to do it.

All the fun fruit and treats I get.

Tapping on the seed bowl when he's eaten all of his favorite seed..

Well, it was my lucky day today. I got a brand new zebra finch. I love how he beeps and hops perch to perch. Momma said all the budgies escaped from the one flight pen again. Oh boy.

Hey, there. Sorry it's been long time no see. I hope you have been having lots of head-bobbing fun. Charlie and Wilberforce sure have. Wilberforce is a new bird-since we gave him somebody to take over (unfortionately, Charlie). Before he used to look old and sickly, now his head has no pin feathers and is very smooth and he is very active and happy.

Yeah, I don't know any of my birds hatch-days except Peekaboo's because we got him from a breeder, so we just celebrate gotcha days. On November 23th (Zip's gotcha day) We will be haveing birds for on whole year! It's soooooo exciting!

Hey, that's neat....you guys are XOXO like kisses and hugs. Sorry---I know you have dignified classical names, but it's fun to play with them, too!

Yup, Parrotlets come in lots of colors...white, Green, Blue, Yellow and Pied--which just means combinations...the breeders just go crazy with us. They are getting all kinds of light colors now called pastels, but my Mom likes us bright...she says we're easier to find that way!

Thanks for the compliment, but Mom says I am in No Way going to run for BOTM! It demands much much blogging, and Mom is trying to enjoy her first year of retired life. Plus, I insist on sitting in her palm while she types, which really slows her down!

That is sort of what I am planning to do. there is an e-mail group called all4budgies and some people give there birds to people on the group. I would only give my birds away to someone I knew or someone who i knew knew a lot about birds. i would also keep in contact with them and ask how they are doing, how they have adjusted, stuff like that.

It sounds like a really neat idea to save for a green-cheeked conure!!! I like the colors on them too (especially the green). Hello, Odysseus! Xerxes must be asking you what happened to your feathers. LOL! I have already been working with Zip to the point were he will sit on a perch outsid his cage and eat millet. He has been alot less "bitey" since he had his wings clipped. The only prob is that he flys to Peekaboo and Charlie's cages to say "Hello" to them. He can still fly even though he has his wings clipped. I'm considering cutting 2 more feathers off as I only cut of 5, and not very much at that. Thanks for the tip!
