Hello Chaka~
I hope you are enjoying your day!
Mom has been cleaning the oven this morning so we haven't started any cooking yet. She sorta burned a pizza last night and had to get it all cleaned up! It was very sad to see that lovely cheese pizza burned but the other, larger pizza made it so I still got some crust. Mom didn't know if you put one on the bottom shelf of the oven, that the paper pan they come on would burn! It was really stinky and I had to be quickly removed from the room but I made it back out there in time for some pizza crust! I suppose that is the most important part!
Today is the 5th anniversary of me, Mandy, George and Gracie coming to live with mom!! It' a special day for all of us!! We are so very happy here and mom says she can't imagine what life was like before we all showed up! I'm hoping for a cranberry ornage scone to celebrate! I got the corn bread already but a scone would be just lovely!!

its great you started soccer season, im not sure if me or luigi would have time to join. Well lots of busy things are happening this month, and we have a new poppa and new siblings. Sky is my poppa now and chirps and spot are my new siblings. They are such nice family. Ill check on the buffet since I have time now. See you later.

Spotlight on Caring -Taz part 7
Sky here with our last blogs with the Proctor flock. I must say I have dearly enjoyed learning all about this well known B.C. flock. SKY; Please continue, Mom Gail; SUZIQ was the next member of the flock. She came from the same bird store as Scooby. We used to visit there fairly often and buy food there as well. Suzi was a sweet bird and used to live with the owner's wife but then after nine months she decided that she did want to sell her so Burt bought her for me to try and ease the pain of losing Xena, I was not ready for a grey and didn’t know if I ever would be. Suzi still is a beautiful and sweet girl who loves her me and only me. Suzi does like to lay eggs a lot. I have had her checked out to make sure her calcium levels were okay and they were, I also make sure that she gets enough calcium in her diet. Ekkies are also very sensitive with regards to their diets. They don't do well with a lot of additives in their food or with pellets; they need a nice fresh food diet. They also have a tendency to toe tapping and wing flapping usually due to an excess of additives in their diet or stress can also be the cause. Suzi did start to toe tap and wing flap years ago and I had to play detective to try and figure out what was causing this as she was not on any pellets or other type of bird food and there didn't seem to be any cause for stress either. After a lot of research I decided my only recourse was to do an elimination diet for her. I took away all food except peas to start with until she quit and if she didn't start up again after a few days I added another vegetable which was carrots...all well there but when I added corn well Suzi started up again, mom took it away and after three days she quit again. The only food to cause an issue was corn so no more corn for her ever. If she gets a little bit of corn cause she gets the wrong bowl the toe tapping and wing flapping come right back. No corn and all is well.
CHLOE is next to join, I was still missing having a grey around the house so Burt looked through the papers and found Chloe in a neighboring state. I talked to Chloe's mom through e-mails and we met them to pick her up and take her home. Chloe has been and is a joy to have around; she decided that she liked her dad best even though she was a Mother's Day present for mom. She is a good talker and has lots of sounds, some that she makes up. She loves to sing.
SIMON came to join us the following year. I always wanted a B&G macaw and so back to the papers for Burt. He spotted Simon in a neighboring state as well. We took the drive to see him. When we got there, we were let in to a very dark house where all the blinds were drawn and there was another macaw in the back screaming with a blanket over the cageCome visit me, JESSE, AMANDO, a Rain Forest Raider, little angel, jack, Sarah Little Bird, rally,, ANGEL, I'm a SILVER SLUGGER, 2nd baser, Zeena, I'm a Major League Beak, SKY & Miss BB, Lupe', flynn, Poncho, Casey & Tia ready for the Derby, broken wings, broken promises & CASPER, I'm a White Hawk!!!.

Spotlight on Caring Taz part 7b
As soon as Simon saw us he let out a really loud and friendly Hi, and as soon as we walked in we knew he was coming home with us no matter what. He has been a challenge for sure and I got bitten quite a few times in the beginning. He does not like men at all, in the 12 years he has been here that has not changed. He is a momma's boy and he has anger issues but I have figured him out pretty good now so I rarely get bitten unless I cause it by not paying attention. He is a very sweet bird in his own right. He loves being held and loved; I call him my cockatoo in a blue suit. My heart melts when he looks up at me and says "I love you", just like a guy. CHICA flew into our lives when her previous owner decided that he couldn't care for her anymore so he gave her to me. When Chica first came to live her she didn't like to be touched very much. She used to eat absolutely everything in sight until her bowl was empty. She gained quite a few grams now she is starting to enjoy being preened and held. It has taken time and patience so it is so nice to see her enjoying herself. She has learned a lot of new words from Simon and she has the most infectious laugh that it is impossible not to laugh with her.
PEARL was a beautiful little cockatiel. Burt saw her in a pet store, he really needs to stay away from those places, and brought her home. This was shortly after Tweety passed away. She was a sweetie and was sitting on Burt’s shoulder a few days after getting here and laid two eggs, she never laid anymore after that. She was with us for a few years and then got sick, we tried hard to save her but eventually she just couldn't stay with us anymore. It seemed as if she had turned the corner and was doing better but the next morning she was gone. She is buried in our back yard in the flowers. Miss you little girl. NAPOLEON joined us next. In case you didn't guess by now, I love greys. A lady in the bird club wanted to find a home for him and while at the meeting Napoleon and I were bonding so Burt talked to the lady and Napoleon was mine. They brought him over with his cage that evening. Napoleon is a wonderful companion and a wonderful bird. Napoleon is a sweet and loving bird who loves to give me kisses. He is constantly learning new words but won’t talk in front of Burt, when Burt leaves the room he starts talking or if he is with mom he talks…of course he doesn't like Burt or men for that matter. I am now complete...I have my grey...

DAY 20 ~ THANKS FOR THE VOTE!
DANIA’S VACATION TO LEBANON part 1
Last year, in February 2012, my parents were discussing about my dad’s sister and his mom going to Lebanon to pay their sister insurance. My dad paid 1000$ every month to his sisters because his oldest sister had two grown children and their parents were divorced. In addition, the other sister who lived with them worked as a teacher and tried paying for the family. When I heard about it, I soon said I wanted to go to Lebanon too, to see my aunts, my cousin and family. My parents thought about it then, they decided that it would be my birthday present to go to Lebanon. I was glad but unfortunately I had to wait until end of March. I was usually impatient so I tried getting it out of my mind for a while. Then it was finally the day where me, my grandma and my aunt were heading to Lebanon. We sat at the airport where my dad worked, and went to a restaurant to have breakfast. Then it was time to say our goodbyes, I was leaving for two weeks and I was already crying, missing my parents. It was the first time I was gone that long from my parents and first time I was going on vacation during the school days. Furthermore, we boarded the plane and took off to head to Lebanon, Beirut. Hi Chaka
How are u sweetie? Mom only got a few blogs out yesterday, so she's sending the same blog with some new added to it! Mom got her cortisone injections in both of her shoulders yesterday, which she gets every 3 months. She usually gets some relief almost instantly, but her right shoulder actually feels worse today! Mom also went to her granddaughter's preschool graduation last evening! I had an exciting day today! It was mom's granddaughter Olivia's last day of preschool, & I got to go! Most of Livi's classmates came running up to mom at the graduation last night, very excited that I'm coming to their class today! Mom takes me to the preschool classes there every year, & I love seeing all the kids as much as they love seeing me! The only difficult part of any excursions, is mom getting me back into my carrier!
Mom is doing good today, but her nose is very sore! Mom has been giving me belly kisses for nearly 16 yrs, without incident! It's swollen on the right side & a bit bruised, even tho the damage was done on the inside! Because my nails & toes are so long, most of the damage was 2 inches down in the nasal cavity! The ER Doc said it was a good thing mom had previously had her adenoids removed, coz my nails would have destroyed the right one! Mom has to be rechecked in 2 weeks, or immediately if she starts bleeding again! She had to be cauterized in 4 different places & has to take an antibiotic! Mom said that the scariest part of having my toes stuck up her nose, was that she was very afraid my 2 toes would end up broken...mom was very relieved that my toes are absolutely fine! Mom refers to this incident as "NoseGate 2013"!
Mom doesn't want anyone to think that the ER Nurses & Docs were being discourteous, they were not! They were picturing a tiny pet bird, like a Budgie, not a large Macaw! Mom showed them a pic of me, they weren't expecting me to be so big! When mom said "Be glad I got her loose before I came in"! That's when they started laughing!

It's making it hard on mom to blog for me but I know she can rise to the challenge! She keeps putting me back on her knee and I say "hello Sugar!"
Not much else going on today. It's just fine with me since I'm having a really fun time climbing all over the puter and all over mom!

How are u sweetie? Nothing much happened here today, except mom stayed home all day! We had a beautiful day of 78! I spent a lot of time outside today, but didn't get to drive my car, coz I don't really like to be out in the direct sun! Mom swears that I can smell when rain is coming, coz when it got real cloudy & looked like it would rain, I started freaking out & wouldn't let her take me off the porch! I ran up her arm & scrambled onto her back & told her NOOOOO, I hold on to mom's shirt, pant, & gently flap my wings, while on her back...mom calls it my rain dance I wouldn't get off her back & onto her hand until she went back inside! Mom calls Mom told me it was not raining, but I wasn't taking her word about it! I DO NOT like OUTSIDE shower baths!

How are u sweetie? Mom must REALLY be guilt-ridden! She's still falling all over herself to take care of my every desire! She held me & played with me until she had to leave for her Drs appt, then got me out of my cage as soon as she returned! Tho, mom was very weepy when she got back. The vet's office had called her, her precious Chloe's ashes were back, mom stopped there to pick her up. Chloe's urn is a beautiful decorator jar. Now mom has her precious Chloe back home forever!
I knew exactly how I would cheer my mom up! First, I gave her some big beakie kisses, told her LOVE U, then proceeded to tell her all about my game! MOM, WE WON OUR 1ST GAME! IT WAS REALLY CLOSE THO! THE GREYS PLAYED THEIR HEARTS OUT, & THEY ARE GOOD FRIENDS, SO AS HAPPY AS I WAS FOR US, I WAS SAD FOR THEM! Mom smiled & gave me a cuddle & some kisses, & said she was very proud of me! Not for winning, but for being a good sport & thinking of my friends' feelings!
The school across the street was having their annual carnival, so mom took me over so I could gawk at all the kids & say HI! I was a regular birdie ambassador! I was on my best behavior! I kept saying HI, did my tricks, let a bunch of kids pet me & gave out a couple kisses to a couple brave souls, but mostly to mom! Mom bought a couple pieces of pizza, so I lost interest in the crowd of people & focused on the food! Mom stuck me on her shoulder so she could carry our pizza, coz mom needs her cane to walk! I was sooooo focused on the food that I was begging on the way back to our house! I'm not sure about u little guys, but when we macaws beg, we drop our heads, flatten our bodies & "gently" flap our wings! The entire walk back, I kept saying MMMMMM in her ear, & each flap I bopped her on the same ear! When we got back into our house, she couldn't hear out of her left ear for a little while! Hehehe, but I had a great time! YES, it's another great day to be me! & yes, the pizza was delicious!

Hello Chaka~
I hope you are having a wonderful day. I've got the gardeners here to watch. They are outside my window mowing the lawns! Pretty soon Mandy will be woofing to go out just because she likes to smell the fresh cut grass! Mom takes her for a walk everyday and Mandy has decided she likes to walk down to the Starbucks. Do you suppose it's the scones they sell? I always share my scones with her so maybe she figured she just go down there and get us some! I like the way she thinks!!
Mom already went to the market before I even got up! The store is open 24 hours a day. It's less crowded early in the mornings but mom has to put up with freight on the floor and the floor scrubber being used. Since she works nights at a store, she is use to that stuff.
She got me some pecans so I'm looking forward to my snack! I'll be having apples and pecans today! Yum!
I'll be supervising the chores later on and letting mom know how she should do stuff! We all know our parronts would be lost without us!!

How are u sweetie? Actually, it wasn't too bad being stuck in my cage, still covered & in the dark til 2:30 yesterday. Before bedtime Tuesday night, mom hung in my cage, the last one of Uncle Chuck's world-famous toys! The one that had my name spelled out...TIAMARIA! Mom is going to post a pic of what's left of my toy in my gallery! I worked it over good! So at least I had something fun to do during my unscheduled confinement period! Thanks again sweet Uncle Chuck, my toys were awesome & I thoroughly enjoyed them!
I am thoroughly enjoying mom's guilt trip! She can't do enough for me today! She's waiting on me beak & foot...even more than usual & doing & playing everything that I want to do! She even said I was having sketties & mandarin oranges for dinner! The few hours of solitary confinement was definitely worth it...considering the VIP treatment I'm receiving today! Plus, SHE hasn't left MY side all day! It was an EXCELLENT day to be me! Can't wait til the NEXT time mom screws up! Hehehe!
We've been having lovely weather here...84 yesterday, 80 today, mid 70s-80 for the next week! 40% chance of thunder BOOMS Wednesday, & 50% Thursday!

You sure are one busy bird! Today it's warm and sunny, and mom has to go to the museum for a tour. She still has some things to plant, so hopefully the sun and warm will last until she gets home. DAY 15 ~ THANKS FOR THE VOTE!
DANIA’S LIFE part 7
When I was young, I used to visit my grandma every Friday. I would love visiting her and seeing my uncles. Usually during my visits, I used to play on the playstation 2 with my brother and my youngest uncle. In addition, I always played with my grandma’s budgie, it was american parakeet and it was blue. Since the bird didn’t have name, the only name I called it was the bird or birdie. I played with birdie every time we visited. Birdie wasn’t tame so I had many incidences were I would take out the birdie and it would start flying every where. Everyone laughed, and my dad usually had to catch the bird. But I found that birdie liked to play on my shoulder, so I had birdie on there. I used to think birdie was a boy, but it was actually a girl. My grandma liked it when I fooled around trying to get to play with birdie. She was happy that I was getting to know birdie. She loved the sound that birdie made everyday. Then my uncle to decided to place the cage on higher grounds since I always took birdie out and she would fly every where. Unfortunately, when I was 9, I came to visit my grandma and the cage wasn’t there, I asked “Where’s the bird?”. She told me, she saw birdie lie on the bottom of the cage, her time was up. My grandma was sad of her loss, it was hard for her. She missed the beautiful chirps in the morning, she really loved that bird. Birdie lived for more than 12 years. She was old and it surprised me about how active she was when I took her out. I was saddened too that birdie was gone. Hi Chaka
How are u sweetie? Mom is in the doghouse today because of a SERIOUS infraction! Mom had a sleepover at sissy's house last night, coz she watched her granddaughter coz sissy had to take mom's youngest grandson to Children's Hospital for an appt...poor little guy, he is 6 years old & has Celiac's Disease! Mom was going to bring Livi home with her to uncover me, but sis called & said she was almost home, to just wait then she would take Livi to preschool & mom could head home. WELLLL, she threw a fit coz she wanted her Grammy to take her to school! Of course mom caved & took her to school, but now mom didn't have time to run home to uncover me & make it back to sissy's to go & watch oldest grandson's 3rd grade program. WELLLLL, mom didn't get home til 2:30pm! Mom was upset & was afraid that I'd be very angry with her! As soon as she uncovered me, I said HI MOM, immediately gave her kisses, then looked her in the eye & called her a SILLY BIRD! I LOVE guilt trips! Parronts are such suckers when it comes to guilt trips! Hehehe! I will be firmly planted on mom's arm til I DECIDE I want to go to bed! I won't let her out of my sight tomorrow either...THEN maybe I'll let her off the hook! It's actually a lot of fun watching her type with one hand & me on the other, trying in eat the phone as she's typing! Hehehe...I LOVE paybacks!
It is VERY humid during spring & summer here in PA! The higher the temps, the more severe & violent the thunderstorms! When I first came to live with mom 16 yrs ago, I was frightened & apprehensive of many things...especially thunder! If there was loud thunder during the night, I would scream, fall out of my bed (I sleep in a large
acrylic ring) & flap around wildly, often breaking feathers! Mom started making up games for things that I was afraid of! Since I was sooooo afraid of thunder, she would make wild arm gestures, laugh, squeal, & say BOOM! In no time at all, I began to look forward to things that had previously terrified me! So now when it thunders, I laugh, squeal & say BOOM...& the louder the thunder, the more fun I have!

I hope everything is going great. It's been nice here but nothing exciting going on. We are finishing up the laundry today. Like I said, boring!
I'm hanging out in the play cage eating my apple and almonds and planning my next attack on that lovely toy hanging there! It's always a good day when I can make a lovely pile of wood at the bottom of my cage!

DAY 14 ~ THANKS FOR THE VOTE!
DANIA’S LIFE part 6
When I was around 4, my dad was able to install a long distance plan on our home phone. It made my parents and my grandma happy that they were able to communicate with their families in Lebanon. Most times my dad would talk to his sisters on the phone and then hands the phone to me to say hi to them. My aunts loved me very much and always want to treat me. Since dad was able to communicate with them by phone, he was able to get them to visit us in the summer. So his sisters and nieces came to Canada and me and my brother had to share a room and sleeping with our mattresses on the ground, that time we didn’t have real beds. My cousins would sleep in the other room. During the night, me and my brother would get up from our bed and go to our cousin’s room. My cousins were always sleeping and everytime we came in, the youngest out of the two sisters would start crying and my parents would come and put us back into our room. We got to go out to mooney’s bay with my cousins and aunts and we would go for a walk in the park. My oldest cousins usually liked to play with my brother and my other cousin who was almost my age would love playing with me. We took photos and had a great time. Later on, they had to go back to Lebanon which was sad for us because I was going to miss my cousins. Unfortunately, that was the first and last trip to Canada because they couldn’t afford another trip. To be continued…..Come visit me, DJ LUIGI-Vote for me BOTM!!!!!!! & Calypso- THANKS FOR BOTD! Today it was hard to get to BC earlier. Tomorrow we will be celebrating my hatchday #10. Mommy bought a cake for me. It will be a busy day for us tomorrow. Mommy has been working 5am to 12:30 during the last week. The weather is in the 80's range here. See you next week.

How are u sweetie? I want to wish a belated Happy Mother's Day to ur sweet mom...that also goes for all the dads that are both mom & dad to their precious kids...be they human, furry, feathery, scaly! I hope everyone/everybirdie had a great day! Mom had such a nice time at sissy's house & spent the whole day with her 3 grandkids, tho I wasn't too happy she didn't get home til 8pm, which is my bedtime! WELLLLL, I demanded MY time with mom, so I refused to get off of her & wouldn't let her put me to bed until 10:30pm! Mom was just too tired after that to get my blogging done, only managed to get out my BOTD, BOTM & 10K blogs/votes! I fixed mom today tho! I only let her out of the house a couple times to take Sadie the wiener dog out, even then I was waiting for her at the door! The entire day I followed her everywhere she went, & made her hold me most of the day, & I sure gave mom lots & lots of kisses! I think she could use some beak stick!
The Milonga was sooooo much fun! I commend Chyna & EVERYBIRDIE ELSE that made the Derby & the Milonga such a huge success! Congrats to the Derby winners & all participants & the hat contest winners & participants! We all have wonderful homes & parronts, so each & everyone of us are winners! & a very big & sincere congrats to Kiddo & Sweetpepper on their 4th wedding anniversary! I was sooooo surprised & honored that my darling Casey & I won 2nd place in the couples hat contest! It even made my mom break out in a big smile! Thank u so much my dear friends for ur votes & congrats! A very big thank u to sweet momma Deb, who is the wonderful person who makes all of our wonderful pics...she even posts them to my page for me! How truly lucky & fortunate I am that she will soon be my momma-in-law! Sweet dreams sweetie, see u tomorrow!

Our First Game is Thursday 5/16 @ 3 pm
Crackerjack Conures!!!!!
Listen up! Our first game will be Thursday against the Wonder Wings team! It should be a great game and we're playing against my frother Scion! hehehe! The first pitch goes at 3 pm EST. If you can't be there during the game, try to fly over to the stadium either earlier or later to see what is going on there. This year participation is everything and it will be checked by the officials! I sent out the season calendar with all our games on it yesterday in an email. Let me know if you didn't receive it!
I have two chores for the team!
1. Please blog me your hatch day - so we can be sure to give your the hatch day wishes from the team on your special day.
2. Please fly around and say hi to each CJC team member. We do have some new team members this year and we need to make them welcome! The team roster is on my profile page with everybirds' page number.
Tomorrow is Opening Day - the events begin at 2:30 EST but the first pitch is at 3 pm EST and the White Hawks are playing the Pois. It will be a great game if you have a chance to fly by! See you there! And see you at our first game on Thursday afternoon!

To our BC family, I sincerely thank u for all the sympathy & condolences we received at this difficult time. It really touched our hearts. Chloe was a cherished family member. She was a Pitt-wire haired terrier mix with a gentle heart & soul. She fiercely loved mom & the 3 grandkids, & would have given her life for them. My sweet Chloe, I will always love u & forever miss u. RIP my sweet Angel. Chloe: 5/6/04 - 5/6/13.

Spotlight on Caring-Taz part 6
Hello from SKY. Welcome to part 6 of my interview with Taz and his Mom Gail Sky; Please tell us about Xena and the other birds that make up your flockily. Mom Gail; XENA was the love of my life. She was my soul mate and when she died a part of me died with her, she left a hole in my heart. Don't get me wrong, I love all of my babies very much. Xena was only 18 months old when she died; we got her from the same lady where we got Taz. This can be a very long story so I'll make it short. Xena broke one of her legs but it was just a hairline fracture so she had to live in her aquarium for four months while it healed. She did amazing while living there. We used to live in a townhouse with three levels at that time and we used to go to the bottom level to relax at night and watch TV. Some of the birdies used to live on the second level and some on the bottom level so the birdies that lived on the second level all came down stairs so we were all together. Burt used to pick up Xena's aquarium and bring it down so she could be with the rest of the flock. This hairline fracture healed and Xena was back in her cage and all was going well until she broke the other leg but this was worse and required surgery to put a pin in it, back in the aquarium she went for another four months. She was so good; never once in either instance did she cry from pain or ever try to bite me. I had to give her antibiotics so I used to pulverize the pill and add it to some cantaloupe juice and Xena would happily eat it all up...she loved cantaloupe. After the four months were up, she went back to the vet, he x-rayed her and decided the pin needed to come out as it was starting to cause issues with her walking. I was in the room with her during her recovery time and she never woke up from the surgery! The vet did everything he could to try and resuscitate her but nothing worked. I cried out in such pain and fell to the floor when she didn't come to. I was devastated and I mean devastated beyond belief. They gave Xena's body to me wrapped in a towel and I sat on the floor literary wailing until they came gave me a room to sit in. I sat there and cried and wailed until Burt came to pick me up, they called him as I couldn't drive myself home. It took me a couple of years before she could even think about her without breaking down. I couldn't sleep or eat and lost 40 pounds during the first few months; I told you she took a piece of my heart. Burt didn't know what to do or how to console me as I was inconsolable. Thank goodness that I had my husband and all my babies here to help me though it. I never thought in a million years that I could ever love a little bird so very much.
Sky; next week we shall conclude our interview with Taz and Mom GAil. I trust all have enjoyed this series as much as I have in preparing it.
