It was a real surprise being voted BOTD yesterday! I was sorry that Caly didn't make it again, though. Thank you for the congratulations!
My pics today are still from the elephant show, one is showing the tee shirts that the elephants paint, the other is them actually painting the shirts. The third pic is Nghi's husband, Duc, getting picked up by elephants. Mom did that too, but those pics are on her (lost) camera. Willie and Giz have pics on their pages, too. Good morning, Marigold!
Wow, what a shocker! Thank you so much for my BOTD & for the congratulations. Was my BOTD planned? When the Royal Guards came to pick me up at my house at midnight on the 23rd, I thought I was in trouble! You can imagine my surprise when they congratulated me on being king. Sheesh!
The weather here keeps getting colder and colder, it's dropping below zero at night and sometimes during the day. It's nice and cozy in the house though, thanks to the wood stove!

Hi Marigold & Flock,
I would like to thank everybody for voting my angel Jacob Bird of the Day. It means a lot to me. So do all your sweet notes and emails. I'm still so shocked that he is gone. I keep looking over at the budgies cage expecting to see him there, cuddled up with Weasley. Instead I see just Bella, Hermione, and Weasley. I can stop crying, but if I see his picture or name or the color green, I just kinda start again. I wasn't prepared for this at all. He was only a year old. I feel so sad I didn't spend more time with him the day before. I only have blurry pictures of him. I was very lucky to be his parront. I had him from 9/11/11 to 10/20/12. A little over a year. I will never ever forget him. I still have his body, I am waiting for my mom to buy some dirt for a big flower pot so I can put him in there. I am going to paint a rock with him on it, and put it in there, and also plant flowers. I have him placed on top of some fake fall leaves in a pencil holder as his coffin. I put some of Weasley's feathers around him, and one up to his chest and heart, so he will be with her, always. I did keep his feathers, and I will keep them forever. I miss him sooo much! :*( Yesterday while I was at the park with my sister, a beautiful greenish yellow butterfly with black stripes flew by. I am sure Jacob sent that for me. It was HIS colors. I hope that one day I will be able to think of him with out crying.

... for the beautiful poem. Those encouraging words help immensely when dealing with the sadness of losing a flockmate. Mozart, our Blue-fronted Amazon was a trooper of a guy, always willing to work hard to try and just be one of the birds even though he had physical complications that made gettin' around a real struggle. He'd been hurt by unkind humans and had to deal with being crippled for much of his life. Those disabilities are what caused his accident, an accident that ended his life too soon. Thank you for your thoughtfulness in sharing the poem.

Joey here with a Thank you vote for the anniversary wishes and now the botd congrats! Wow! The last couple of days have been awesome! I got a nice new toy that mom made for me and a special honey treat that a friend gave me as well as my usual treats:) Mom also made a special birdie bread for me! Of course all my flock mates shared in the celebration with me. I can hardly believe I have been in my forever home for 20 years! I will be 21 in June:) Thanks for sharing my special day with me:)

What a day! I hardly had the sleep out of my eyes this morning when mom came in and was making all these squealy human noises (you know what I mean) and smiling and all excited as she told me that I had won botd! What a surprise! She gave me some nutriberries and let me put it this way, I was awake in a hurry! LOL! I got slamdunked 2 days in a row! Wow! And a nice day in the castle, too! Thank you for congratulating me for botd:) What a nice surprise today was;) My crop is just bulging from the millet and goodies, but I am loving it!

This is a updated photo of Marigold. I was able to get a closeup photo of her. I let her out of the cage and after about 2 hours of trying to get the right pose. I was able to get a good one.

Hi Marigold is the newest member of the flock, she has a twin brother named Chico. She is a Fischer's lovebird, with one parent being a Fischer's and another parent being a Peach face Lovebird.
Marigold came from the same Aviary that Sundance came from in Montrose, Colorado She will be joining Pretty Baby, Chiquita, Sunshine, Prizm, and Sundance R.I.P.
