Bubsy 3 years old M Fischer's Lovebird corn kernels, almonds, aple juice, millet, and anything the BUDGIES have! a shoulder, the window sill, IN/ON the budgie cage! Watching food being prepared in the kitchen. not being on a shoulder when someone walks out of a room I'm in! her ears, tip of her index finger! and bashing into her hair in a bun I roll on my back and play with my feet. What are you eating???.

Happy New Year! Hope you're enjoying your nice Holiday break! It's warmer there than it is here in Mexico right now! Only 68F here today- brrrr for us! We have kicked our babies out of the nest but we still share the same cage right now. Can't wait for my parronts to get them a new cage so Limon and I can enjoy ourselves! Do you like to hide under the paper in your cage? It's my little Lovies Chico and Marigold's favorite playtime! We also shred our cage paper and Mom comes by and puts more paper down for us to shred and play with.

HOw's everything downunder? Do you have Christmas like we do? Does it get cold there? I got my foot tangled in a skinny little rope that was attached to a toy. I tried to get my foot off the rope but it was so stuck. When my parronts found me, I had chewed my toes off. Then they took me inside to a little travel cage to take care of my foot and I kept chewing it so there was no foot left. They then wrapped it in a big bandage so I couldn't chew it anymore. I have a picture on my page with my bandage on. I had it for 10 days until I didn't chew my foot anymore. My parronts removed all the skinny strings hanging in the aviary and put big ropes up so this won't happen again.
I have 3 babies and I'm teaching them to fly and eat from a bowl with my husbird, Limon. One baby is still in the nest but the other 2 are keeping me and Limon super busy.

You are one cute looking bird! I had thought of getting a Fischer's but I know that breed wouldn't get along with Tessa, which would have meant a separate cage and we have enough cages already!

While others might be watching the football game's, I am sending mom and pops to a BIRD SHOW, which means more toys and treats. Now thats what I cal a fun sunday, and with a little lucky, they'll stay a long time, so I don't have to listen to pops scream at the TV all afternoon. Squak.

Hi everybirdy!
It's nice to meet some birds from down under! Our uncle, aunt and cousins all live north of Brisbane. They emigrated back in the '60s. They love it there. My mom hasn't ever had a chance to get over to visit though.
I guess you're just starting to have summer? We are starting our winter but being in Mexico and in the tropics, it doesn't get really cold here ever. We are supposed to get a cold front in today - will drop it probably to 70F! hehehe

Sorry to hear about the foot injury--is it your mom, too, like mine?

Also sorry to hear about your being afraid of the new cage. I think it may just take a little getting used to. Do you have some toys or familiar items from your old cage that you could put in there to make yourself feel more comfortable?

Mom just loves coming by your page, because you are so cute!

Mom's been gone a lot this week, doing physical therapy on her sore foot (from a running injury), and hasn't had much time on BC. But, I told her I didn't want my friends to think I didn't care, so she had to come on and say "hi" for me! (I really can say "hi", too. It's my favorite word to say!!) :o)

That's great that you have a beach so close by! How fun!!
It would be neat to see the parrots fly free in Australia. We just have regular sea gulls, crows, mourning doves, robins, etc.--and hawks!! Mom has to watch out that our little furballs (pups) don't get eaten when the hawk flies over our yard.

Just flying by with a "hi" and a BIG THANK YOU for helping me get BOTD today--how exciting!!!!!

Mom gave me a new treat today--BLUEBERRIES! She said it was to celebrate my special day. She also said I looked cute with the blue all over my beak and called me "blueberry beak"!

Everyone here on BC is SUPER friendly and nice, that we feel very welcome and happy just being here!! Thanks for being my friend!

Thanks for the congratulations on us winning BOTD.
Here's how our day went.
Around midnight, Popeye woke us up and told us to come with her. We followed her to the street and there was a limo waiting for us. We all climbed in and were promptly taken to the castle. We had been here once before for a party.
But the door we were taken to was not where the party was. There was a castle guard at the door. He opened it for us and welcomed us to the royal reception area.
We walked in and the first thing we noticed was all the birdies in the room. Queen Chi chi welcomed us and led us up to the front of the room. There we were greeted by the previous BOTD, Hatti.
Then this really old looking Macaw stepped forward and told us that we had won "Birds of the Day". We were completely clueless so Popeye explained that we had received the most votes yesterday. Two crowns were given to Popeye, who placed them on our heads and the old mmacaw congratulated us for winning BOTD. Then we were taken to our royal chambers, where we slept for the rest of the night.
The next morning we were awaiened by a knock on the door, letting us know that breakfest was being served in the royal dining room. We followed the butler down to the dining room and there was Queen Chi chi, who had already started eating. She saw us and motioned for us to join her. That breakfast was the best we had ever had. After eating we were taken on a tour of the royal area of the castle and then we climbed aboard a horse drawn carrage and were taken on a ride through the surrounding countryside where we had lunch.
After returning to the castle we went to help with building the Sunny Dance Studio, named after our sister Sunny, who flew to the Rainbow Bridge. It was hard work but we enjoyed meeting and working with our friends.
Finally it was time for dinner. Again, we went to the royal dining area where we were met by Queen Chi chi and all of our flock mates. Right before diner was served, we met this grey bird who called himself Uncle Sammy. he took us, along with Cammie, Bourke, Sassy and Sawyer, up to Falco's Tower, where we had a nice private dinner together. Uncle Sammy told stories and we all looked at the stars. But by then, we were getting very sleepy so Uncle Sammy took us down to our chambers, where we fell asleep.
At midnight we were awakened and taken to the royal reception area, where we met the new BOTD. Then Popeye took us back home to our cage.
We had a wonderful day as Birds of the Day. Thank you all so very much.

I couldn't get a typist for the day so I'm late in getting around with a thanks for your note of congrats on my surprise win of the award. Sunny's dad here.
Please forgive me for taking so long to answer your blog. Things have been quite jumbled up, here. I have been trying to put the pieces back together. Also, please forgive me for using copy and paste to answer but with all the messages Sunny has received, I would never finish.

Thank you so very much for your condolances. The love shown for Sunny was overwhelming. Sunny was very much loved, here on the BC, as well as here at home. Sunny and I had a very special bond. She was my beautiful little girl and I loved her very very much. And her actions and body language showed that she love me very much, too. When she passed, it was devistating. I have still not recovered from the shock of her passing. The night she died I sat and held her for several hours. I was there for her and held her as she took her last breath. At that time, she opened her eyes, tryed to stand and made a very faint calling sound. She made the sound twice and then she was gone. To me, that was her way of saying "goodbye, I love you". The next day, I buried her next to Chilli.
All of you have been so wonderful and kind. Truely, there is no more wonderful place as the BC.

Thank you so much for flying by and helping me celibrate my hatchday. I had fun but it was bitter sweet. I don't know the exact date either. So, we celibrate on the 1st.
Right now, we are still picking up the pieces from our dear Sunny flying to the Rainbow Bridge. But things are starting to get back to normal. We miss her very much.
She was with us for almost 19 years.

Hope you are having a great day! Mine is pretty quiet. Mom workis nights and last night was her "monday" so Sunday is pretty quiet around here. We have to get the turtle tank cleaned so I'll be keeping an eye on the turtles while mom does the cleaning. They always try to escape so I keep an eye on them and warn mom if they try to run! Silly things! Don't know where they would go should they get out. I'm sure they would be back as soon as it was dinner time!hahahaha
