Hi Weather Birds!
It's Weasley and Jacob. Yep, we still exist, we just don't get much computer time anymore. Peatree gets the most, and the Bella and Hermione get the second most. But it's okay, as long as we get to see our friends once in a while.
We are doing great! Singing, playing, eating, and sleeping all the time! hehehe! How are you?
Our one year wedding anniversary is coming up. It's October 12th. We can't believe we will have been married for one whole year!!!! :)

So, ready to play? How is your weather, is it comfortable enough to do more than sleep? Tomorrow we get a SLIGHT cool down, at least no more danger of triple digit temperatures. It would be nice to get some rain too. At least when its hot, mom is around. She doesn't like to do too many errands.

Annie's lesson in 'tiel genetics for everyone.
Your little pinfeather is a WHITEFACE LUTINO. This is NOT an albino - albinism is caused by a single recessive gene that has to be paired with an identical gene to produce an albino offspring. White cockatiels come from two different genes - the whiteface gene and the lutino gene.
Lutino cockatiels are pale yellow; the lutino gene suppresses all gray coloration. To see what a lutino looks like, check out Marigold (226240).
Whiteface 'tiels have white faces and no cheek patches; the whiteface gene suppresses all yellow/orange coloring. BC examples of whitefaces include my frother Buddy Beak, and Pepper (168969).
So what happens when you combine the lutino gene with the whiteface gene? You get a 'tiel with no gray, yellow, or orange - in other words, pure white! The eyes are red as well, since the lutino gene is suppressing the iris coloration.
I love the picture of Pinfeather with his/her clutchmates. You can see that the parronts produced one whiteface lutino, two lutinos, and one normal pearl. I'm not sure what the parronts are but it's obvious they have some combination of whiteface, lutino, and pearl in their genetics.Come visit me, Screech & Roof Top.

I'd like to take this opportunity to THANKS everybirdie
that stopped by to visit and vote for me. I never knew
I had so many great FRIENDS. It's a GREAT HONOR
and I am so EGGcited that I was given the chance to run
for BIRD OF THE MONTH.A BIG and Wonderful Good Morning....
Without the help of Everybirdie that voted for me, I
never would have made it to the Castle. I know that
QUEEN Peatree left the Castle clean and made sure all
was in order for my arrival. I have heard that the
Royal CAG guards can be a little rowdy, so they have
to be replaced with some Sweet Lady Caique's to make
my stay comfortable. I know they won't empty the Royal
Liquor cabinet. hee hee.
I had a good time bring you some laughs, and a lot of
useful information that I hope you found Interesting. I
had my typist doing much research for some the things
that I sent to all of you. Without the help of pops,
this could not have been possible. It was a lot of work, but we enjoyed every day of it to the fullest.
Again let me THANK everybirdie for all the daily visits and their support. It was a fun experience, and I really had a great time.

Florida skipped spring and went right to summer. Mom's upset because she wanted some nice warm breezing weather, not hot and humid weather.:( But she said she's gonna take me outside on the pool deck tomorrow.:D
Mom's trying to teach me to do some tricks other then turn around. We are working on waving.

Blinking~
Birds love when you blink at them, and will normally do it back. You can turn blinking into a game! When mom blinks, I blink back, and then she blinks faster, and I do it faster, and ect, ect. This is also good for gaining trust with a new bird.

Get some tissue paper for both you and your bird. Rip yours up, and your bird should so the same. The bigger the mess, the more fun your birdie is having!

King Pepper's Acceptance Speech!
Feathered friends, well-wishers & loyal voters, I thank you!
I took this long-awaited opportunity to impress upon my staff the necessity of allowing me free access to the peanut bag. Would they dare deny a king?
I also rung in my reign on my special bell, not only because I am the only one who can do it properly but because no one had better touch it or else!
I continued to do so vigorously throughout the day just in case those in my domain should forget the occasion or have the presumption to pay attention to anything else!
While I should have liked to use my exalted position to further my designs upon that other bird's (Poirot) possessions & territory, so far my attempts have a flop (literally) I will have to wait till my wings are able to further my purpose. Next time he'd better watch out...
