Pictures of the wedding are on page #136770. It was a ROYAL wedding, the wedding of the Bird Century. Pastor (Ö>CR Jake presided. It took place in the castle gardens. WHAT a celebration. I am so sorry I missed it. Miss SweetPepper had a lovely white gown and Mr. Kiddo was snazzily attired in an orange suit complete with top hat.
The bridal party was appropriate to a royal wedding. This will be for tomorrow.
Kiddo and SweetPepper had the first CASTLE wedding. The very first wedding occurred at the end of Charles Riley Jake's campaign for BOTM.
“But he wasn't The Reverend CR Jake then. Mr Buddy was the "minister" for that wedding between two birdies named Bella and Sailor. Jakey was the musical accompaniment, playin’ his git-fiddle. And at the end of it all, sure enough Jakey was Bird o' the Month in May 2008!” in Miss Riley Ann Orion's words.

Day 2
“Bye Cookie, thanks for bringing the washboard.

“Well Zippy, what are you going to talk about?”
“I thought I'd talk a little more about the masquerade, the sorta scary part.”
“OK, maybe the kettle drums, they'll make good mood music.”
“Could you PLEASE try to play them SOFTLY? The birds might like to HEAR the STORY?!”
“Hehehehe, I'll try!”
OK, the story:
At Queen Kelley's masquerade, Kiddo was a knight, BUT...
A very strange looking bird walked STIFFLY into the castle. It was the legendary 'GUACBIRD'. It is after this masquerade that the GuacBird became a legend. {This bird moved to a table and remained there ALL evening. It seems that the costume was an AVOCADO, and the poor bird inside had all she/he could do to MOVE, so simply sat all evening. What a costume, bird stuffed avocado. (I do not know if it is a secret, so don't tell. It was Popeye in the avocado)
Miss Popeye had the moat emptied and refilled with salsa! I think by the end of the party the moat was empty. If you wish to try some of the same recipe of salsa, try the Proud Bird Pie Shop (#162867).
Anyway, the day after this party, Popeye found herself next to an empty moat, the GuacBird costume next to her soaked in salsa. She herself had a pounding headache.
I need to make a correction to yesterday's lore. Miss Riley Ann Orion has word from her frother Jake that HE was the first to wear a crown and have royal paraphernalia in May 2008

Today I thought I would introduce myself and set the 'stage'. For my campaign for BOTM I would like to consider the history of the Castle, where all BOTM and BOTD reside. I have asked Polly to provide some atmosphere by playing minstrel. He will accompany me on his lute.

Upon her coronation as BOTM, (Oct. 2008), she declared the party to be at the castle. And behold, in the magic that is of BC, a castle appeared. And then did Queen Kelly's many friends party.
Many thanks to Kelly *v* Miss SweetPepper pointed out to me that many NEW to BC birds do not know what is going on with B(ird)O(f)T(he)D(ay)/BOTD and B(ird)O(f)T(he)M(onth)/BOTM.
The BOTD is the bird with the most votes in one day. The day following the votes, that bird has its profile picture in the Bird of the Day spot on the right side bar. The 'account' also receives 1000 points.
Now the BOTM is the bird with the most for a whole month. The 'account' receives 10,000 points. To see the BOTM, go to the Bird Eclub on the left side bar. Scroll past the Birdie Quiz to the next set of tabs. On the very right is Top Bird. Click there and you will find the BOTM. Click on the name, and you will get to that bird's page, and you can find out what has been happening in the castle. The birds on BC honor our BOTM by referring to the bird as King or Queen for the month of their reign. The castle is in our imagination, although a page is being set up, #239094 (#234862 not active in 64 days as of 7/29/12).
There has been a campaign for BOTM. The month prior to the honor, the bird running, visits as many birds as the campaigner is able, soliciting votes. Recently the campaigns have had a theme.
Every day, the castle is the residence of the BOTD along with that month's BOTM.
A piece of history is that back a few years ago there was BOTW (Bird of the Week) instead of BOTD. So you will find BOTW awards in the award section of pages.
ANOTHER point of interest is that although you only get points for 1 vote and 1 blog per day, you may vote (for different birds) AND blog multiple times in one day.

Hi Sunny
I don't like the spray bottle either but I love going into the shower for a soaker. Our Budgies don't usually bath and the bottle is not their favorite but there are some who jump into the water bowls as soon as new water is put in their cages.
It's overcast today but still no sign of rain. We have had very little rain this summer so the flowers and grass look pretty brown and wilted.
Time for Momma Deb to feed the baby birds their hand feeding formula. Talk to you tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by. This is going to be a quick fly by. Long enough to hit the vote button and on the road again. Daddy still not feeling too chipper from driving 6 hr drive in 102 Deg. Temps and no AC Friday. I did try to make him feel better by giving him kisses when he stop by my cage to say hello. Of course all of the fur balls had to horn in on my time with daddy. What a hatchday I had. What an interesting day in the castle. Mom spent a good part of the day in bed, sicker than she has ever been before. She made it through the move, and a good part of the unpacking, and last Thursday night it hit her as a simple cold. Friday morning she was dead on her feet and she tried to get in touch with a doctor in this new area - forget it. it is a long weekend here, so she has to wait until Tuesday. She called her doctor back home and was put on meds right away. Poor mom cannot talk without choking and choking with a raw throat is awful. Her own doctor feels she has a case of strep along with sinusitus and bronchitis. She held off good during the move, but it all caught up with her. She took a 3 hour nap outside by the river yesterday, since she could not stand up any longer. She found out quite quickly that the black flies love her. She is full of bites from those nasty little critters. They don't much love Dad but if you could see Mom, she is full of their love bites. LOL We are celebrating my hatchday all day today, since Mom is somewhat better now and is going to the bakery to get me a special cake. Sorry I haven't been over in a couple days. Lupe' being hurt had made life busy but I never forgot about you. I agree with what you said 110%. You should go to SKY's BROKEN WINGS page 232121 and write about this. He wants all birdies to speak out, tell their past, talk about abuse, ideas to help improve birdies lives in general. I will be watching for you over there.
I have a favor to ask. SKY page 224183 is running in Mar 2013 for BOTM. His campaign is on abuse but he needs to build up votes before then. Would you help become a supporter?

Sky's thought for the Day!
I must once more thank every birdie and parront for their out pouring of love for my brother Lupe'. This sad tragedy has shown what I have attempted to emphasize about Broken Wings and Broken Promises; THERE IS POWER IN MANY VOICES.
I have taken time to read and re-read the wonderful, and touching tales of abuse and neglect. It still and always will puzzle me how humans can justify to themselves for their treatment of animals in general and us birds specifically.
I would like to thank SB, BB2 and Cupid for all their help these past days with spreading the word that Lupe' needs prayer and for their beautiful BOTD picture on display on his page.
RAffikki was the winner of the first ever TC patio silent auction and will receive his choice of customized photo. Thank you all for your support of this endeavor. The TC Patio will host an on-line auction for Broken Wings to add bird rescues. Please keep your eyes open for more details. LET'S make this a great success and help birdies in need.
We will keep you posted on Lupe' progress and please let us know how JADE is doing? Once things are more stable with Lupe' I will be organizing an over night BC Birdie trip down the Swanee River. Any birdies interested in taking part--it will be great fun please contact SKY on his own page-224183.

I've missed you too! I'm doing good. I've been getting lots of scritches (as you can see in my profile pic) and treats lately. Mommy feels bad because last week she barely had any time for me because she was painting sets for a play. But she's done now!
Thank you so much for BOTD! It was such a wonderful surprise. I enjoyed being king again. I've missed the castle since last month and yesterday was so fun! BC is amazing! Thank you!
Me and mom went outside today. It's mostly sunny and warm, but a little windy. We shared a creamie and then rode around on a bike. It was great!

I love the wild birds. Today we had 12 very large Vultures circling above. That wasn't so nice. The weather has been wonderful and Momma is busy cleaning out the flower beds for another year. So much to do so little time it seems.
I hope you have received the notice regarding the meeting at 11am EST at the PATIO and can make it. After the meeting there will be an Easter egg hunt.

Yes, my frother won. I had 5 frothers running last week and my sisters Poncho and Little Angel. Lupe and Little Angel didn't win but will try again soon. It's nice here, but very damp lately. They're calling for rain; yuck!

First of all, I'm SO sorry about missing the two days, mom was really busy! She's started Spring cleaning, drawing her Easter cards, and she's searching for an english budgie.
I looked at crowns today, and found a lot of pretty ones. I only have five days left, so I better hurry and make up my mind!

Beak N Claw Fun~~
Buy some leather cording (vegetable tanned), typically used for making necklaces with, from your local craft store. While you're there, pick up some various sized wooden (unfinished and unpainted!) spools and buttons. Cut a length of cording about 3 inches, depending on the size of your bird, and 1 spool or button, either dye with food coloring or leave natural. Then tie a knot in one end of the leather cording. Slip on the spool or button and tie another knot, being careful to leave enough room between knots for the spool or button to move around. Make sure the knot is tied tight, but not too tight as your bird will have endless fun trying to get the spool or button off of the leather.
Mom said she's gonna make me one of these!!

This is a good toy is you have a tall cage. Take a rope, and cut it so it's long enough to touch your cage grate, then tie knots on it, and hang it in the cage!
Simple! lol!
