Oh lovies.....some hen sent me those pictures of the babies claiming the might be mine. Not to worry......I have been hanging out with Sir Elton ........come to think of it.....those babies look more like Sir Elton than me! Sure hope they don't ask for a .......birdternity test before I have my glass of bubbly!
So happy to hear you two have broken out and are getting Buddy B! Now how in Heavens name did you get locked in an aviary ? Where are my cupcakes and Doc? We must get back into the studio Dahlings! Now Elton....dahling.........fetch me another blueberry scone. What? No? It's my turn to get yours ? And now...the battle of the Diva's begins and ends with another bottle of Dom being opened . Who needs blueberry scones when you have your good bubble friend.......Dom....with you ! Meanwhile....as Rico and Paulie break out Buddy B.......Buddy B can be heard muttering......I just heard a cork pop off of a Dom! Must find it!!!!! Some things never change! Heehee!

We want to thank you for the beautiful jukebox that we won! We just can't tell you how much we LOVE NTT! We think that Mom loves it even more!
We're hoping that the Cuddler can get some much needed and much deserved rest and we can't wait for the weeks to hurry by for her! Our Mom has been driving Nana back and forth to the doctor's and she is so disappointed because the visit today didn't help any at all,she was scheduled for eye surgery on Wednesday but they had to cancel it because her BP was too high,they had given her BP meds to help bring it down but it didn't work,they didn't even tell her how to get it to come down only not to have salt and she nor Mom uses salt in their cooking! Nana had been looking forward to getting to read and work on her quilting again and even driving,but now they're telling her to wait three months! Mom has no idea as to how to get Nana's bp to come down!Nana has another Dr visit to see how her BP is in two weeks,we are hoping that they find a way to get it down then!
We are only praying that your sweet Cuddler gets through this tough busy time and she gets that well deserved vacation that she needs! How are the Feeder and the BW doing? They must be almost done with school for the year! I'll bet they did great this year!

Bella here! Thanks so much for coming by to vote for me! I'm sorry for not thanking everybirdie yesterday, me and mommy had NO idea what we should do for my campaign theme. After a little brain storming with grandma, we decided do a daily "You Know You're a Bird Person When...." saying, and a parrot joke! I hope you'll enjoy it. :)

You Know You're a Bird Person When

You drive around on recycling day looking for the biggest piles of newspaper to steal and feel guilty when people look out their windows and pity you.

THE COURTEOUS PARROT

A lady is walking down the street to work and sees a parrot in a pet store. She stops to admire the bird. The parrot says to her, "Hey lady, you are really ugly." Well, the lady is furious! She storms past the store to her work. On the way home she saw the same parrot in the window and the parrot upon seeing her says, "Hey lady, you are really ugly."

She was incredibly ticked now. The next day on the way to work she saw the same parrot and once again it said, "Hey lady, you are really ugly." The lady was so furious that she stormed into the store and threatened to sue the store and have the bird killed. The store manager apologized profusely and promised the bird wouldn't say it again.

The next day, when the lady walked past the store after work the parrot said to her, "Hey lady." She paused, scowled with an icy and deadly stare, and said with a hoarse voice, "Yes?" The bird, strutting back and forth on its perch in a cocky manner, said, "You know."

We have all really missed you sooo much! Mom,Dad and Nana and the skin kids finally came home from vacation after being gone a week and we missed playing NTT! Mom is hoping to get us all down there early tomorrow to get our song list in,she was busy with Nana trying to scrub our cages,and get Bella's and Trixie's cage back to Nana's house and then unpacking and making sure that we got everything back! Mom had called the fid sitter earlier in the week to check in on us and found out that Kallie broke out of his cage,clips and all and then he let me out of my cage(Dixie)and when the fid sitter tried to get Kallie back in his cage he bit her hard! She was so upset that I would get hurt more,but she finally did get Kallie back in his cage and wire tied it shut along with turning the key in the lock that's in his cage door!Mom is sooo happy to be back home again,she really missed us! We both missed you all too and my Mom was soo happy to get the hug you sent her! She sends hugs back to your sweet Mom and you too and so do we! I agree with you too we just LOVE that song too!We are all sooo happy to have Mom home and we all missed you something terriblly! We can't thank you enough for letting us play NTT each week! Hehe, yes I know the little birds aren't food. :P
I am pleased to report that I haven't bitten momma in over a week! We have been trying to work on my stepping up, but I'm still not great. I REFUSE to step off or out of my cage. I will only step up when I am away from my cage. Grandpa bought the Bird Tricks training DVDs, so mommy is using those to help. I really like going outside, I will step up really nicely out there.
I really like being scritched. If mom or grandma stop, I shake my chain to ask them to come back. But I am not allowing mommy to scritch me at the moment, because her nails are a very scary red and yellow color. She promised to take the color off for me today.

We would never miss going to NTT each and every week! We are going to be very upset because our parronts and Nana and the skin sibs are going on vacation and are leaving on Friday and won't be back til the 24th and we'll all be in lockdown in our cages while they are away! We will be missing playing for next weekend! You always make the start of our week soooo awesome!Cookie's Mother's Day songs were great! We knew them all!
Dixie is still taking his meds and is still using his thermal perch for his gout and everyone else here is doing good! We hope your sweet Mom is going to get a long rest as soon as school and the BW and the Feeder's schedules are done for the school year! We sure hope the Cuddler had a good Mother's day and got to rest some! Hey Ninjas !
Sounds like a good life there - doesn't get much better than having an open door policy ! I can only dream of such things - in fact this week mom is extra busy at school ! She coaches the middle school drama club and their production is next weekend - extra practices every day this week - me and dad are in charge of all house hold duties - including meals ! I'm leaning towards pizza and popcorn for dinner - every night !

Sounds like things are pretty busy back at the house ! Every human is studying huh ? And you're not there to pull keys off the computers ? Bummer ! So will the masters bring a promotion ? Obviously, it'll mean more money and responsiblilities . . . we hope !

We knew it! Mom was going to put that down and she just wasn't sure and then said no,it couldn't be and it WAS! We haven't heard that one in a long time,and Mom remembers a commercial a long time ago that had Gimme Dat Thing!
We feel sooo bad for the Cuddler working so hard and just getting barely a break in between classes again!Please give your awesome hardworking sweet Mom a big hug from all of us here and my Mom too!Dixie is suffering from gout,but he has his good days and his bad days with it!Mom and Nana are doing good so far and Mom is going crazy getting ready for vacation in two weeks,getting Bella's cage all painted and cleaned and put in our small bird room,and now we'll have our baby cousin TrixieII's cage and my new baby fister,Candida and neither one of those two have ever been away from Mom and Nana ever,so this is going to be an interesting vacation,Mom will probably worry about us like she always does!
Don't my Mom wish she had a smartphone to play Song Pop! I wonder if the kids can play it on their phones?LOL! My Mom would surely love that for sure! Please tell the Cuddler to not work so hard and my Mom and all of us here hopes she gets to have some kind of break,vacation,down time anything to get some relaxation in from working so hard with everything all year long! We are curious as to what that song could be? We're still trying to figure it out though!Mom's got 60's on 6 on 24/7 for us and we even get to listen to Music Choice on tv at night while we are snuggling for several hours! You really know how to stump us good!LOL!

Are we ever sooo happy to see you two! We have truly missed you sooooo much! But my Mom knows eggactly what your sweet Mom and typist is going through right now! She's been there and done that with the skin sibs,between working a full time job and caring for the kids,school work and homework and the house and your Dad to care for and you,your poor sweet Mom must have no energy by the end of the day to do much of anything else!My Mom can remember what that was like,and we here all hope that as soon as school comes to an end for the summer we can visit with you like we used to do! We would never miss going to NTT and we're trying to get everyone else to go there too! That's the best thing that ever happened to BC! It makes our Mom's day!Mom's been busy with Dixie who was diagnosed with articular Gout and his ankle and feet have been swelled up really bad,they wanted him to undergo a kidney biopsy among other tests and to put him on gout meds and pain meds and my Mom said no to that as the meds were worse than what he had! So Mom got him a thermal perch and he uses that and Mom is giving him cherry juice for the pain and he's eating an alternative diet for gout sufferers! We are sooo happy that everyone is doing great there! Please say hello to everyone for us! We love you sooo much!

Oh don't worry about it! We're just sooo happy to be able to play every week and my Mom can understand just how frustrating computers can be with all their little idiosyncracies! And we know just how busy The Cuddler must still be with the kids,work the house and everything else! Hi again kids, my dad had a wonderful time with his old friends, and he alway brings us some little something, yesterday we got some yummy crackers! While becoming close to all our BC friends, and like most, we are subject to sharing the highs and lows of their lives! We are saddened by the news of Char Oldham's hubby Ron has been diagnosed with that nasty Colon Cancer, he's in the hospital to build up his blood before surgery we were told it is hopefully operable, sweet Sophie misses her daddy! It pains us also that young Victoria Marie has lost her pet chicken's to a mean old hawk, but Spirit Cloude is okay! While praying for Mr Dixie, Poirot, and our other friends, please include the above mentioned! My love to all in your home, see ya all tomorrow, TGIF...

Oh my does it sound like you've got a real busy household there! Oh Annie's babies must be sooo beautiful and she's got two more! Is the Cuddler going back to school? Oh have we missed talking to you! It seems like everything is changing all around these days! We all so love playing NTT and are trying to get more and more birdies playing along with us! If you ever get a chance to chat again please tell me all about what's going on with you and the Cuddler and Annie and everyone there!
We are eggspecting 7-9 more inches of snow here again tonight into tomorrow with high winds of 55mph plus! We are in danger of losing our power again we just got it back after 5 days without it in the freezing cold,now my Mom is on her own and she can only handle 3 of us in her shirt at a time,the other 3 will be left to freeze if my Mom can't get that old coal stove to stay lit! It died on her last Sunday in the middle of the night and we almost froze then! She still hasn't cleaned it out from the other day yet either,she doesn't know how much more we can take of this,she wouldn't mind if it was just her but she's so scared for our well being! And we have a new baby fister too,she's just been here less than a week and has to eggspierience being cold and frozen! We love you all sooo much and can't wait to hear from you again!

Good to see you pudgy budgies on my perch ! How's everything ? How's schooling ? How's mom's work ? I've been trying to use my BOTM campaign to expand our contestant base . . .

It would be a mistake to leave ALEX AND ME by Dr. Irene Pepperberg out of my campaign for we were all touched by Alex through the years, and we were all saddened by his early passing. This is not only Dr. Pepperberg's fascinating story of her research of bird intelligence, but it's also a personal story of love. Mom was lucky enough to hear her speak at Parrot Palooza a few years back - an experience she'll always remember !

How's mom doing at work ? How's the skins doing in school ? Do they get the news to you at all ? Miss you ?

No wind here, but brrrrrrrrrrrrr . . . we're not supposed to get out of the 20's today ! At least after today mom won't have to go out in it till Tuesday ! I love long weekends :)

Another reference book today - HOLISTIC CARE FOR BIRDS : A MANUAL OF WELLNESS AND HEALING by David McCluggage and Pamela Leis Higdon is a practical and comprehensive guide to bird care. It includes sections on emotional well-being, anatomy, nutrition, recognizing illness or injury and homeopathic treatments. There are numerous appendices on finding avian vets, helpful websites, suppliers of homeopathic remedies, and a bibliography for further reading. Straight forward and easy to read !

Today we're taking a picture book break ! Me and mom love picture books too ! This one is IF I NEVER FOREVER ENDEAVOR by Holly Meade. It's about a baby bird snuggled in the nest trying to decide whether to fledge or not. Adventure vs. anxiety . . . something all humans can relate to - plus the illustrations are wonderful !

Oh no problem! We were so surprised that we won again! We just sooo look forward to playing everyweek and have to fight with Mom who gets what song title first! We always have the 60's on 6 on and at night when our Dad gets the xm Mom will put on MC(Music Choice) on the tv for us all! So this week was easy because what they didn't play on the radio they played on the tv! LOL,plus my Mom and I know all those great songs! We can't thank you enough for our juke boxes,we only wish we could find a way to get everyone else in to bomb NTT with their lists! Mom's still working on it!Her week can't start without going there first! We love you guys sooo much and really miss talking to you! But my Mom knows just how busy it can get with everything a Mom has to do in a day! Especially when you have skin kids to school,work,housework,fids to clean and feed,dinner to make etc!We'll be here waiting whenever your sweet Mom ever gets a chance for life to slow down some! Does it ever though? LOL!
We love you all sooo much! How's Annie and her babies doing? Give her all our love too! Kiss those sweet babies for us and especially the little mini Annie,who must be sooo adorable!

More Ollie the parrotlet ! Bob Tarte has a sequeal to yesterday's book called FOWL WEATHER ! The household is up to 3 greys, a dove, a tiel and our favorite, Ollie as well as numerous furballs. It's one adventure after another - mom enjoyed this one too, but didn't laugh out loud - too much of a good thing ? Let us know what you think if you've read this one !

Today's book is very close to my little green heart for a couple reasons - TANGO IN AMERICA by Steve Baldwin with Alison Evans-Fragale is about my wil quaker frothers in the USA. Tango is a young quaker looking for her father. During her search she faces many challenges and learns about life, love and growing up. Probably best categorized as a young adult book. Today's book review is WESLEY THE OWL by Stacey O'Brien, a biologist who specializes in wild animal behavior. She rescues a baby owl with an injured wing and over the next 19 years she studies and falls in love with Wesley. This is the story not only of their relationship, but all the author learned about owl behavior, intelligence and communication.

Today's book choice is for the child in all of us - a picture book ! CHICKADEES AT NIGHT by Bill O. Smith and illustrated by Charles R. Murphy chronicles the life of these darling little birds, of their dances, rides upon owls, spa visits - actually, it sounds like they've spent some time here on BC with us ! Besides the charming story and pictures, it is full of chickadee facts. Darling !
