 I met Sparky on Easter Sunday. It was right after my grandfather passed away and we were having a family reunion after his funeral. We were waiting for my aunt but wasn't back from church, so my husband asked if I wanted to go to the pet store since we were waiting. I said sure. Since they were running a little late. The pet store was only 5 min. away. We went in not really looking to buy and my husband saw sparky. We have been looking previously and we heard that Senegals were awesome apartment pets to have. So we wanted to pet him but he wasn't very friendly, he looked afraid and I was afraid he was going to bite me. I was hesitant to get him so we went back to my aunts house and my husband asked me if I wanted the Senegal that day and I said, it was up to him since he was infatuated by him. So we landed up going back to the pet store and taking him home with us. He adjusted well after a few weeks of spoiling him, he came around. He now mimics everything I do. He bobs his head when he hears music and makes snapping noises. He mimics me snapping my fingers while I dance. He also likes hanging upside down, he looks like a bat. lol So he is very friendly but still a little skiddish with strangers.. |

What a handsome fellow you are! I saw you on Beak-to-Beak and had to stop by and tell you how adorable you are! Howdy Sparky!
I am glad you got to spend some time with your mom. It is hard when you don't get that play time and the quality time. I know I love to spend time with my entire family except dad, of course. he he he! The other day mom fell asleep on the sofa and when she woke up, I was sitting on her hip taking a nap, too. She just laughed at me. She said I am such a clown and I am always doing silly stuff. I love to play on the floor. I play on the floor with my skin siblings. I love to play with my skin sister in the morning when she has on her siiky pjs. I love to chew on them and hide under them. Mom says I am the silliest birdie she knows. How are things with you? I am busy getting into trouble. he he he! I love getting into trouble. I am always fighting with Tootles, my timneh brother. he he he! I also love to eat and to chew. My family is good at spoiling me. I do not care too much for my dad. If he gets to close to me, I lounge and bite him real hard. Dad gets mad at me when I do this so he doesn't get to close to me anymore. he he he! I let anyone else hold me though. Dad gets so frustrated. Mom calls me a boy but she never had me dna tested so she doesn't know for sure. Mom says that since I am always trying to feed all the human girls that hold me, then I must definitely be a boy. he he he! I was the biggest baby in my clutch. Mom says she thinks I was the naughtiest, too. he he he! I love hair too. I am always chewing on my skin sister or mom's hair. I love to sit in mom's hair and hide, too. It is fun being in there. he he he! Well I must be going. Mom said she must take my skin siblings out to the pool. It sure sounds like you found a wonderful mommy and daddy. I am out visiting senegals today since mom said I will probably be getting a senegal brother. I am so excited....I think. I don't know how well I will handle sharing my mommy. My skin siblings are going to spend time with them so he doesn't become a mommy bird just like me. he he he! What can I say?!? I sure love my mom! I get to eat cereal every now and again. Have you ever tried those breakfast bars from Kashi? They have an almond and cranberry one that I absolutely love. Hey Sparky, My name is Jack I'm also a Senegal. I like to hand upside down too but I only have one leg so I don't do it too often, but don't let the one leg fool you I'm still the boss. I love your pics, you look just like me. My favorite foods is also corn, it has to be on the cob though, it's fun to pick it off, I also just love carrots. They are fun to chew all up and shake my head to decorate the wall behind me. I'm sending a vote your way!
