 I was looking to adopt another bird. I had a ad on craigslist looking for a grey. When a lady got ahold of me telling me that she knew where a orange wing amazon was needing a good home if i was interested. I said yes and she got ahold of the owner letting her know about me. I ended up going to pick her up that day. She came from a very loving home. Her owner got a new job taking her out of town and she loved Khloe enough to see she needed someone to be home with her more than she could.. |

I hope your day is going great! I've got rain, thunder and lightening! It's been this way since last night and even tho it's raining pretty good out there, the gardeners are still here working! I don't know how they are going to get all the grass cut with it being all soggy!
Mom and the kids went to see Dark Knight Rises last night at midnight. Mom liked it but said it was her least favorite of the 3 movies. Brother said it was the first Batman movie where he actually liked Catwoman!
When they got home they saw the news about the tragedy in Colorado and it ruined the experience for them. None of it makes sense at all and we all said a prayer for the families who are having to deal with the loss today.
I am going to help with chores today, or at least supervise them! I don't think there will be any kid's in the pool to yell at unless the rain and lightening stop! Bummer!!!!!

Hello Khloe~
I hope your day was great! It was pretty good here. The clouds rolled back in around noon but we are still in the 70's so it was nice. Lots of kids hit the pool today and they looked like they were having lots of fun. I squawed at them for a while but then I got bored and went back to chewing wood.
I know that summer is really here because the firework stands all opened today. I'm glad mom is off on the 4th at night because Mandy doesn't do well with loud fireworks. Now that the stands are open the fireworks will probably start tonight! I think mom should pull out some cd's and crank up the cd player! No fireworks are allowed in our complex but the houses across the street always do it up big.
Can you believe that the first back to school ad at mom's store starts on Sunday! The poor kids have only been out of school for a week here! The entire thing gets put out after the 4th. The first Christmas stuff will be going out in a few months! Mom says working retail is like living in a different time zone from the rest of the world!hahahahahaha

A Newsletter from Sugar~~
I hope your day is going just great! It's very pretty here and they are getting ready to open the pool in the complex. It's only 58 and the wind is blowing like crazy so I don't think anyone is going to go swimming today but it looks really pretty.
Dad went to pick up some fancy machine he got to record music on the computer so I know I have to get a note out quickly because when he gets back, I'll have to share my computer with him!
Today is a special day at my house! It is the anniversary of the day Mandy, George, Gracie and I came to live with mom! It seems like we have been here forever! I've known mom most of my life but up until 4 years ago I only stayed with her for a week or two at a time. Now I get to live here all the time and have her see to my every whim! It has worked out great and I can honestly say that Mandy, the turtles and I are very happy. Every animal should own a human like mom!LOL
Enjoy the day and I hope everybird and their families have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!!

How's everything going with you? I'm doing just fine. Nothing exciting to report from here but I'm having a nice day!
Just hanging out, snacking and playing. I'm getting a new perch in the play cage today. I chewed up the old one because I decided it was time for a new one! It lasted nearly 2 years! That's pretty good for me!
One problem I have now that I've chewed it up is that it was the one in front of my food bowls! I guess I should have thought about that before I chewed it up!
Silly zon!!!

It is cooking day for us and mom started out with pancakes this morning. I had 3 pieces!! I love pancakes. Mandy had 3 whole pancakes and is still looking for more! She really loves to eat! Right now she is taking a nap cause I bet she's really full!!
Taco stuff is next and since mom bought a package of 72 corn tortills, enchilladas will be on the menu one day this week too! She says the will have plenty left over to make some home made chips! I like those too!

I totally understand the hormonal thing! I've gotten much better in the last few days but I've been doing it for a while too. I'm not allowed to play with boxes when I'm like this because I tear them up and try to make a nest from them. Mom says we are not going there! She tries to get me busy with doing something else. I've never done any plucking so mom is thankful for that!
Not much else going on around here. It still hasn't been very warm but I guess that will come in time. We usually have a cool wet spring.

I hope your day is going great! I'm being a very good zon this morning so mom is wondering what is up with that!LOL
It's cooking day but I have no idea what mom is making. I know she made egg salad and is working on potato salad. I think the stuff cooking on the stove is for tacos but it may be for enchiladas. Mom hates it when they are frying tortillas while she is trying to sleep so she probably make enchiladas out of the meat. She also had another corned beef in the crockpot. They marked them down at mom's store so she grabbed another one. The family really seemed to like the first one so I bet they will be happy to have another one.
I got my cage cleaned this morning so now I'm busy getting it dirty again! The turtles are next but I don't think they know that yet! Mandy went off with dad so she is safe from mom's cleaning frenzy!! I'm sure she'll be put in the bath tub when she gets back. Boy! She is not going to like that at all! I actually feel a little sorry for her!~~Just a little!

I hope you are enjoying the day. I've had my breakfast and now mom is going to get some notes done for me. It is going to seem like Saturday to us since mom has to work tonight. Mandy and I are going to be really confused since she'll be working 6 days straight.
They are fixing the carport downstairs. It seems that when our neighbors moved out a few weeks ago, they hit it with the truck. Mom had to move the car yesterday so they could rope off the area for the repair guys. It's not too noisy but I think Mandy got scared because she's gone off to the bedroom. The gardeners are here too so I guess it just got to be too much noise for her. She is such a wuss!hehehehehehe
We are boiling eggs today so that mom and I can color them when she gets home tomorrow morning! I love coloring eggs!

It breaks my heart everytime a nominated bird does not win but none of us has any control over the votes. It is in the hands of the BC and their rules. I think perhaps it time to do away with the nominations and just let friends go out and campaign for their friends. That is the way it use to be and perhaps it will give more birds the chance of being the BOTD and keep feelings from being hurt. We all know that is not what we birds are all about! We are the most loving creatures on the planet even if we use the beak sometimes!
Peatree's Fund Raiser is going great so far! I am so very happy and I thank everybird for their support. If you have any friends on any of the other channels, dogs, horses, cats, bunnies~~please ask them to lend their suppot also. I have been over to the Horse Channel many times to vote for a friends horse. Did you know they all seem to just love me over there?? Yep! Almost all of the profiles say that they love Sugar! I am so honored!

I hope your day is going great! The Mariner's lost last night so they are tied for 1st place with the Oakland A's. We are still celebrating because this may be as good as it gets!LOL We love our team up there but they don't always do well! They are still our team!
I am running a Donation 4 A Vote tomorrow and I know I can count on you to help! For every vote Peatree (199322) gets from 9pm pst tonight until 9pm pst Friday night, I will donate a dollar to the Iowa Parrot Rescue! This is a wonderful organization that helps so many birds find forever homes. Some of my dearest friends have come from the IPR. I like to help homeless birds find that forever home whenever I can!

A snowy Happy St. Patrick's Day from Puyallup Washington! Yep! Snow again. We will be wearing the green-green long-johns that is!hahahahahahahahaha
The family enjoyed the corned beef and cabbage. I liked the Irish Soda bread the best! It was yummy and it's all gone!
Today mom is making meat and beans for burritos. She goes back to work tonight so we will be getting a few meals done ahead of time.
The party at the Thristy Parrot Bar and Grill (171712) is starting at 6pm central tonight. I'll be going by earlier since mom will be asleep at that time!

I hope your day is going great! I'm not doing much but I'm still having fun! I'm in the play cage snacking on some apples and almonds. Mom's got corn beef in the crockpot. I don't really care about that, but she did get some Irish Soda bread so I'll be trying that later! She's got to work tomorrow night so she's making it today. Tomorrow we will be doing some more cooking.
I'm going to supervise the cleaning of the pantry in a little while. It starts out all organizes but by the time the family has been in there for a week or so, we have to clean it up again. Mom hates having to dig thru it to find something. I'll get to see what kinds of snacks are in there so I don't mind helping! She bought some whole wheat goldfish and she let me have one of them! They are very yummy!

How is your day going? Mine has ben pretty good. I got a bit of waffle for breakfast. Mom said it was in celebration of the time change day! She said it is something most of us have to put up with twice a year so we might as well make it fun!
I helped change all the clocks and later on I am going to help change the batteries in the smoke alarms. We have 5! We are going to have to put Mandy in a different room because the beep really scares her. She tried to get the balcony door open last time. She just wanted out!

So it turns out me and my sister are being adopted by the very nice bird rehabilitator next door to us! she has lots of birds!
Momma is keeping Tahny for breeding purposes when they are older. she has a shelter boy she saw that is split to black cheek! very pretty! http://efinch.com/species/bczeb.htm
and she is going to give him to Tahny as a mate!
she is going to put up new pictures of us baby zebbies soon but we are all grown up now! adult feathers, we even have orange beaks!
the only thing momma fears, is that all of us babies are hens and not boys. so that risks egg binding x3 because we are all hens.

I hope your Sunday is going great! I'm having a nice time today. I've got my snacks and I am now going to my play cage to play with some toys! I spent most of yesterday banging a bell! Mom really enjoyed it!
I usually go in my play cage this time of the day just to have a snack and play for a while. I get a fruit or veggie snack in the morning and I must tell you that I do not like to touch wet things with my feet. I have to have my snack bowl so I don't have to touch anything icky! It's all yummy to eat but not so much fun to touch! Mom says I'm a real girly-girl!!hehehehehe

I am sorry that I was not able to get around the BC yesterday. Something about Leap Day problems. It could have been those "Squakers" leaping around on the servers, but I'm not sure exactally what happened!
I want to thank everybird for the honor of being your February Queen. It has been such a wonderful experience and I have had a great time!
I'd like to send out a special Thank You! to RaneBeau and Kiddo for the awesome Milonga. The bachelor auction was so much fun and I really appreciate all the money that was raised for Castle Rescue Center!

I must apologize to those of you whose pages I did not have time visit yesterday due to the glitch in the BC software system! Also for those of you concerned about the devastating tornados that swept though my state of Illinois, we were spared the nasty destruction of all that terrible stuff, but we pray for all those who were hard hit in Kansas, Missouri, Southern Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee! How is your day going? I suppose everybird already knows that Norman hit 10K today!! I'm so happy for him!
Nothing of interest to report from here. It's beautiful outside but very cold. I'm spending time in the play cage right now and snacking on an apple and a pear. Since I have no set plans for the afternoon, I guess I get to do whatever I want!!LOL Hey! That's about what I do everyday~~mom permitting that is. Sometimes I get a great idea and she just won't let me do it. Yesterday I thought it would be fun to climb down on Mandy and maybe take a ride! Mom scooped me right up and said it was a bad idea! I didn't think so and I'm sure Mandy would have had fun too! Parronts can be such party poopers at times!

How is your day going??
Well, I got up this morning and was enjoying a piece of english muffin with peanut butter when this really big truck pulled in right in front of my home!! Mom says it's called a cherry picker but I know for a fact that there are no cherry trees out there! Mom said they are using it to do some work on the wires that run up my street! I was so surprised to see it that I dropped my english muffin!! No need to worry about the floor because Mandy was right there to eat it!
I think they want to get the balloons off the wires too! My complex puts lots of balloons out in front of the office building and sometimes they get away! I've had a few get stuck in the tree outside my window! At first they were a little scary but now I'm use to it!
I am not use to seeing humans up in the air like this, so I'm yelling at them to let them know I don't like it! They scared all the outside birds off the wires too so I have to let them know that it was a mean thing to do!
I hope you enjoy your day! I'm going to be keeping an eye on these people out there!

How is the day going?? Nothing much going on around here. I've had my toast and shared a piece of a cheeto with the dog! If I got my wings on a whole bag of those things, I bet I could get her to do whatever I wanted!!! She is a real push-over for cheetos!
I hope you are enjoying president's day. Mom explained it all to me. Did you know that when mom was a kid~~a really, really , really long time ago~~that they had Washington's Birthday and Lincoln's Birthday off? Who ever thought of making one day to celebrate all the presidents really blew it! It went from 2 days off in February to one! I think we need to come up with another holiday in February to get that second day off back!! How about Sugar's Hatchday? hehehehehehehe
Well, it sounds like a good idea to me!

We have arrived at Sunday, a day of rest, the Sabbath Day, a day of worship, on this beautiful Winter's day in February! I say Winter, because it is only conspicuous by it's absence this year, at least in my home town! So, who hit the winter button? Even Florida is getting in on the action!hahahahahaha Spring is not very far away so we all have something to look forward too!
Mom cooked a bunch of chicken this weekend so today some of it is going to be made into enchiladas. She is making rice to go with it, so I'll be having some rice and veggies in a while! I love that stuff!
Mom bought me some baskets to keep my toys in. They are on top of my play cage. They look really nice and I get to go through them and pick toys out whenever I like! I've picked some things out that I haven't played with in a while so I'm having lots of fun re-discovering them!

I hope you had an excellent day! Nothing much going on around here. I'm supervising dinner at the moment. Mom got some little corn on the cobs so I'll be chowing down on one of those is a little while! Fresh is so much better but mom says I'll have to wait for that!
It's wet here and the clouds are low to the ground. Mom says it looks like an enchanted forest out there but I think it looks like one of those horror moives mom's sister is so fond of!LOL
