 We were in a cage, all by ourselves, at Exotic Birds By Fran when this man and lady came in and saw us. The lady thought we were cute and the man did, too. Long story short, the next day, they came back and took us both to our forever home in the La Habra flock.

Yeah, we'd seen that the gas prices went up again. Do you have the grocery rewards there? A Safeway gas station finally opened near us so mom can use the gas rewards. It does help to get the cost down a tad. Can't imagine how much it must cost to fill a huge tank on bigger vehicles.
Our temps dropped again and it sorta rained yesterday morning. Can't really call it rain, but it did get the ground wet and it was overcast until the afternoon. We know it won't affect the rainfall totals one bit, but think the plants liked it.

Hi, Blue and Jewel,
Our dad's ridden all manner of two wheeled contraptions. He had a moped at one point. Motorcycle, dirt bike, stingrays, 10 speeds, etc, etc. He bought the Harley (which was in pieces) from skinsis boyfriend, essentially so she wouldn't be riding on the back of it not that the boyfriend had the funds to repair it. 'Sides a previous boyfriend of hers did have a working one and she rode on the back of that a couple of times, so she's been there, done that. Our mom never had a desire to ride a motorcycle.
Glad that your temps have cooled. We are still in the 70s and loving it. Dad's BD recently and he had ordered a cake at the grocery store's bakery a couple days prior to when he wanted it. So on the morning it was promised he went to pick it up and the bakery person checked and said everything was baked except for dad's cake. Yikes! Dad just bought a cheesecake instead and shared that with his friends at the coffee shop since mom was at work.
The babies sound so adorable.

GONE ! Mom's niece called to see if the parronts would babysit on Sunday. She's in a drum and bugle corps and they have a show, so she'll be dropping Landon off at 6:30 (in the morning !) Our dad has a few different bicycle types, road, mountain, so he alternates between 'em. There's also a Harley, but it's not currently rideable and is being worked on. As yet unfinished and not sure dad will actually ride it. Might just get sold. He'd have to get a motorcycle license again first.
Yeah, after temps hit 90 then it's all just Hot and doesn't matter the exact number. Good that the bird room stays cool.

Our mom can't imagine riding 55 miles in a day. Our dad's done it in his younger days. These days he goes 5-10 miles on the days he rides, but no hills much anymore as it's too hard on the legs. Mom says if it's not mostly flat surfaces then she won't ride.
Did you reach the 100s? Panther said his area did and was glad his dad finally got their new a/c installed. Yikes, sure don't want to be in 100 temps without a/c! How'd people last in the olden days?? We have cooled down since the w/e and are back to our 70s.

Mom loves Laurel and Hardy and dad loves Keaton ! In fact UCLA is in the process of restoring all the Keaton's - dad has a friend who made a rather large donation to do it !

Was that bike race the CA tour one? Previous years it started in our area and ended in yours, but this year is reversed. They plan the finish to be on Mt. Diablo if mom remembers correctly. The parronts try to watch it if they can since dad used to ride in many of the hills around here.
Sounds like the parronts had an enjoyable day with the boat ride, opportunity to shop and then to see the silent films. No wonder your dad went straight to bed.
Reached the low 80s yesterday. Seemed hot to mom, but guess it wasn't that bad.

You know that old theater saying that a poor dress rehearsal means a good performance ? Mom hopes that the opposite isn't true ! Things went well yesterday . . . they even found a way to create night using a blue gel on the spotlight !

Oh, that does sound simple enough to toss the dried up poo and toss it out. When it leaves the opening it is falling into your regular birdhouse or does it land on the floor? Either way supposed it is ultimately cleaned up by your dad.

Morning parronts
I'm so happy to hear that the littlest baby is growing up fast - you are really good parronts letting him eat first ! Do the others get angry ?
The light box at mom's school is fixed - kind of - the blue lights in the back bar blew ! That means if it can't get fixed before Saturday, they'll have to use a blue gel on the spotlight to create night time . . . at least it's safe !
Dad ran out of dinner ideas - last night we had hotdogs ! Really dad ? Wonder what tonight will bring ?
Then it rained, no, poured all day ! Sure hope that's over - one day of napping is enough for me ! Don't forget Mother's Day is Sunday - NAME THAT TUNE on page 231616 has mother songs this week ! Go see if you know any !

What a relief that the youngest baby is so feisty. Think one so much smaller would need that to ensure a fighting chance to be able to catch up in growth.
We remember Blue telling us that there's no pooping in the nest box. Didn't realize that you two clean up after the babies. How exactly do you do that?

Guess what happened to mom yesterday ? She was rehearsing with her drama club after school and one of her 7th graders came running from the light box yelling "Smoke !" Mom rushed to get everything turned off and hunted down the head of maintenence - who called and electrician. They finished their rehearsal on a dark stage ! Hopefully, they'll get it fixed fast ! Thursday is dress rehearsal and then comes the performances ! Lucky for her I was waiting and gave her lots of cuddles and beaky kisses when she got home. All dad gave her were ravioli's !

We assume that as long as the youngest baby continues to be able to eat then he'll catch up in growth to the older ones. In the wild if there was not enough food then it might be a different story.
That's good that the store owner will take any babies and find 'em good homes. Any babies from you two are just gonna be so adorable anyway so how could anyone resist?

We are kinda worried since the 4th baby hatched so much later that it might lag in growth. Certainly in the wild it probably would not have as much of a chance of survival. Still, you two have plenty of food and the inside temps are ideal. Be difficult for that 5th egg's baby if it hatched now.
Okay, 94 is terrible for spring, especially with all those fires. Guess rain would help.

With 4 babies is twice as much work as last time, but now you're seasoned vets at it so shouldn't be to hard. Does your dad have to keep refilling your food dishes?
Temps here were in the high 80/low 90 range. Did you surpass that 93 temp? Good thing humidity is low.

We didn't know that your dad gives you special food to feed the new babies. While it does sounds kinda gross to hoomans to think of eating regurgitated food that is a normal thing for birds. If your dad or any parrot were to eat like birds they wouldn't be able to move, heehee.
Warm here too, but again, not that bad due to the winds and the lack of humidity. Still, we'll be glad to return to our preferred 70s temps.

Think we remember that Blue will come out of the nestbox in order to not poo in there. Guess she could get a quick drink of water then and stretch her wings too. Guess fruit/veggies would have a lot of moisture content.
Your temps were only in the 70s? We were in the 80s again. Cooldown is forecast for Fri, but if it's past 80 it just feels warm to hot anyway. Lots of fire warnings. Hopefully none break out.

Hmmm, if no new babies then perhaps the last two won't since they'd be so much younger than the ones already hatched?
