He came into the pet store I'm a manager at, and he was just a doll. He crawled up my shirt, and snuggled under my chin, and...well, I just had to let my husband know. It was all over after that!. Awards

Hi! My name is Peas (Yellow Sided Green Cheek Conure)

I am a Green-Cheeked Conure from Decatur, IL.

Baby Peas, Mr. Peas

9 years old   M

Green-Cheeked Conure

I really like pizza crust, but I have to have little pieces, and I like the birdy bread too.

Hiding inside your hand, like it's my personal cave, inside the yellow happy hut with Olive and Skittles.

I do NOT like to be interrupted when I am picking a fight, and believe me, I love to show everyone that I'm the boss (not really).

My mom loves to laugh at me because of how brave and curious I am, but I love her because she makes sure that just because I'm little I don't get picked on.

I love to just fly out of the cage when I see mom sittin on the couch...doesn't matter if the cats are there too, I just fly right out..

  Hi from Lonnie
Good Morning Big Bird, Peas, I just love the help I get on BC. Today, I decided to take Zeus advice. I think and just let Ellie build our nest herself. I love her to death and just want to help but she reminds me that for safety sake I cannot put material so close to the hole. She thinks the chicks will fall out. I guess she is right, but a man likes to look out the door when resting on his nest. Our teils, Ms.Skeeter and Mr. Wishbone have two eggs already and she is still laying. Beep and Peep the Zebras have 3 eggs and are expecting on January the 6th also. I guess all good things come to those who wait. I'll be patient with Ellie. Afterall, I can't lay the eggs. hehe she is the expert there. Well, got to fly...Here is a vote for you and your flock too. It is from all of us. Yes, Fortune has the Big Head.....Patrick and I love it for him though. Happy 2008 my friend. Lonnie

Hi Peas good luck with your new people! To answer your question about rosellas especially crimson rosellas like Sherlock is....they are not cuddly, they are very active and mischievious, playful and hilarious birds, just don't expect them to jump on your extended arm...Not much is know about Crimson Rosellas kept as pets other than in an aviary. A lot has been trial and error with Sherlock. He keeps us quite amused with his somersaulting and other cute tricks. He has a habit of hopping around with his wings way back chest stuck out and head cocked and all the while talking away or "clucking" as we call it. He speaks very clearly and says phrases such as "who's a good boy", "good morning", "step up" (even though he won't most, "what are you doing?". He also whistles like a professional..very melodious not like most human whisltling which is usually monotone and off key....all and all Sherlock is a wonderful bird....we also have Luci our 2 year old lutino cockatiel a recent addition to our her a local pet shop, she was given up by owners friend and we brought her into our you want to talk about cuddly??? She's a sweetheart...anyways talk to you later good luck in the new home! Here's a vote for you !

Come visit me, Sherlock.

  Hi Peas
I was adopted by my daddy and mommy when I flew in their house looking for food and mostly water. I escaped from the bird trade, and I had a metal band on. I was originally from a super store, but they wouldn't look up any information. I didn't meet any of my wild brothers or sisters, or else I would have stayed with them....My daddy does good with me. He gives me much better food and cleaner water than I could have gotten out on the streets of the concrete jungle...My dady has gone around and has seen some of the nests and quakers that live in them. I don't know how they can build such big nests, but they usually need them cuz their families are sooo big. Sugar

Come visit me, Skippy, Oscar & Sugar.
