Hi Holley from your fellow severe cousin KC
You're a pretty girl! I'm new to BC and love seeing my other Severe flockmates! Drop by and write my mom when you have a chance!
I'm a 6 year old rescue that loves my new home but have developed some bad habits and my Mom Stephi would really appreciate talking to other Severes Moms and Dads's...especially with any advice :)
Is that a couple of conures I see in your family?
Do you like hanging out with your other flockmates? Or do you keep to yourself? I try to steal my sun conure sister, Penny's food all the time. I don't think she likes that very much cause she screams at me all the time. Well she just screams all day but she screams more when I try to steal her food lol.
Now, a note to your mom:
Have you had any more problems with biting? Ever since I've owned my parrots, I got lots of scars on my hands and arms. Sometimes I get bitten when they are trying to steady themselves, and they use their beak to hold on. And sometimes its just because I wasn't paying attention to their leave me alone signs (eyes pinning, feathers fluffed up, beak open and lunging). So I get nipped. But the best way I've learned is to stand your grand, and a firm "No".
If KC is acting like a brat, flying at people and trying to bully them (she's becoming very territorial lately, anyone that passes around her cage she's been lunging and attempts to nip at them). I tell her its 'bye bye' time and she gets locked into her cage with the cover on. I heard a spray bottle works well (unless they like their baths that way).
Anyone else have any advice for us? I'm just trying to learn as much as I can from these fascinating and lovable creatures. They can be soo sweet one moment and then the next moment we have no idea what their thinking?!

Hi, Holly.
I just saw that you asked me a question about getting overly excited when you are on mommy's hand. I do not get that way, but when I feel like I am unsteady, I will grab my mommy with my beak really hard so I don't fall. Mommy says that she gets lots of cuts from me on her chest, hands, and arms because of this. But I try to stay as calm as I can.

Nice of you to stop by to visit. It's good to see we have another Severe in our group. there are so few of us here on bird channel. Last I looked it was still under 100.
