Birdy is a starling, we found him outside our barn when he was 6 days old and he was dying he couldn't move or lift his head. My parents said I could try and save him because they were positive that he was going to die. I reasearched online to see what to feed him and I had to handfeed him every hour for the first month! He got way stronger and to everyones surprise he lived! He had a bad foot though, our vet thinks it was a dislocated hip, he would get it stuck over his wing, so we had to bandage it. I called the wildlife rehibilitation clinic and they said that I could bring him in, but since he would probably never be able to fly again they would most likley have to put him down. I wasn't going to let that happen so I kept him. We made him a home in a dog crate with branches and toys and he loved it. I would take him out to play and practice flying and eventually he got stronger and in Oct. he was flying! He loved it so much that we decided it wasn't fair to keep him in a cage for most of his life so we set him free. He's now living the life of a wild bird again, but he stays around and I see him about every other day. I miss him so much, but I don't talk to him too much or go pick him up, because we are trying to make sure that he will be able to live in the wild. But he's doing great (:.

Hi! My name is Birdy

I am a Black Lory from not saying, NS.

Well his full name is Robirdoh, but we always just call him Birdy (:

3 years old   M

Black Lory

Applesauce!

When I had him, he loved his cage he wouldn't want to leave it to play outside! Now he just hangs around and follows a flock of birds. He sits and watches me when I'm at the barn sometimes. He still hangs around the house so I know he's doing ok. (:

When I'm away for more than a day and other people are taking care of him, and when we put rocks in his water dish so he can't flip it over (:

She took care of me and had faith that I would be okay when everyone thought I would die. and when I got stronger she kept playing with me and feeding me until I could fly!

He would hop back and forth from his box to his branch to practice flying, and he would sing ALL the time. He would sing softly and sometimes he would sing at the top of his lungs! And when he got mad he would throw temper tantrums and trash his cage..
