 Birdy is a starling, we found him outside our barn when he was 6 days old and he was dying he couldn't move or lift his head. My parents said I could try and save him because they were positive that he was going to die. I reasearched online to see what to feed him and I had to handfeed him every hour for the first month! He got way stronger and to everyones surprise he lived! He had a bad foot though, our vet thinks it was a dislocated hip, he would get it stuck over his wing, so we had to bandage it. I called the wildlife rehibilitation clinic and they said that I could bring him in, but since he would probably never be able to fly again they would most likley have to put him down. I wasn't going to let that happen so I kept him. We made him a home in a dog crate with branches and toys and he loved it. I would take him out to play and practice flying and eventually he got stronger and in Oct. he was flying! He loved it so much that we decided it wasn't fair to keep him in a cage for most of his life so we set him free. He's now living the life of a wild bird again, but he stays around and I see him about every other day. I miss him so much, but I don't talk to him too much or go pick him up, because we are trying to make sure that he will be able to live in the wild. But he's doing great (:. |

Almost cried...
