 My husband and I had been wanting a pet bird. One day we went to a local pet store just to look and talk to the birds and they had a pair of lovies up for adoption because the previous owners had separated and couldn't take proper care of them anymore so we decided to take them home and give them some much needed love and attention.. |

Common entertainment included playing cards. However, there was a tax levied when purchasing playing cards but only applicable to the 'Ace of Spades...'
To avoid paying the tax, people would purchase 51 cards instead. Yet, since most games require 52 cards, these people were thought to be stupid or dumb because they weren't 'playing with a full deck..'Come visit me, Tweet & Squak.

In the late 1700's, many houses consisted of a large room with only one chair. Commonly, a long wide board folded down from the wall, and was used for dining. The 'head of the household' always sat in the chair while everyone else ate sitting on the floor. Occasionally a guest, who was usually a man, would be invited to sit in this chair during a meal.. To sit in the chair meant you were important and in charge. They called the one sitting in the chair the 'chair man.' Today's Playdate 11-20-2011
We had a great play date today. Our owner brought us home a new ladder so we could get onto our play-gym easier and we love it so much. Didn't take anytime for us to get used to it. We just hopped right on it and it was so easy to get up to our swing and perches. You see before we had a hard time reaching them because our play-gym was a little tall and we are ya know "short". We played the chasing game and the Uh-oh game where we pick up our big wooden beads and drop them from the top of the cage and Mommy says "Uh-oh" and picks it up and hands it to us. We think this is so funny we even laugh when it happens. We also trained and are getting so good at "step up & step down" that Mommy gives us millet treat and praises and praises us! We are now learning "Pet" and Mommy pets us so softly. We stayed out so long today that as soon as we got back in our cage we had to have a snack and nap.Come visit me, Sunset & Sunrise.
