None of us are owned. We're the purest, wildest birds. Only one of us has been live caught (in the 1800s). He sadly lasted only 3 days. We were shot for collections and as curios, our habitat is 1/20th the old size, we're critically endangered. We were though extinct (many believe we still are). But there have been more than 100 sightings since our "extinction." Many by very, very qualified experts. And the reports are not dying! HA HA HA! IVORY BILLS FOREVER!!.

Hi! My name is Ivory Bills

I am a Red-Crowned Kakariki from Hingham, MA.

Grail Bird, Lord God Bird, Elvis in Feathers, Ghost bird, Campephilius principalis.

74 years old   M

Red-Crowned Kakariki

Beetle Larvae, poison ivy berries.

Big, dead, hollow trees in the wildest bayous down south.

People who think We're extinct, loggers, people who would shoot us.

I'm not owned.

I've been known to land on people. Back in the 1800s to 1930s, we were quite friendly. Now, however, we've shrunk to the depths of the forest..

Protect the southern wetlands!.

  Hello Ivory Bills!
How have you been? Don't worry about not responding right away. We're busy too, and sometimes we forget to take time and meet our friends in the BC Flock! How is life where you are? Your photos are just beautiful.
To answer your questions, our person is interning at a local zoo. This is her second internship. She's always telling us how much she loves us and enjoys taking care of us. We're always having fun! We get the coolest foods and the neatest toys. We even get to visit the zoo guests and show of our natural behaviours in zoo shows. Our intern taught the African Grey, Ruby, how to identify colours!
I hope everything is going well with you. Take care, and here's a V4U!

Come visit me, Calypso, Reilly, Zoo Birds & Audubon.

  Hello There!
Hi Ivory Bills! I love your pictures! You are one of my Ma's favourite species. Did you ever read "The Grail Bird" by Tim Gallagher? It's a great book about you! I'm so glad to see you on BC! It gives Ma a lot of hope that there are other people out there watching out for you. I hope you are staying safe, and have a very Happy Holiday!

Love,
Calypso and Zoo Birds
