THE LOST ART OF THE INTERMISSION:
.
For many years, longer films were planned with Intermisisons. the story would take a dramatic pause, the music would swell, and the audience got to take a break to use the bathrooms, visit the Refreshment Stand etc.
--
I always loved the Intermission music. Often in the older theaters, curtains would dramatically close on the Intermission, and slowly open when Part 2 began.
--
Nowadays we're forced to sit for 2 1/2, 3 hrs or more without a break.
[The Lord of the Rings films are good examples - they are long, involved, and you're lost if you had to take a break away from the screen].

Even revivals of older films will skip right over the Intermission - forcing you to shift in your seat - and hold it in for another extended period of time - ~ugh~
--
Unfortunately, after paying the high ticket-prices we need to *er* …"step away" from the film for a few minutes, missing possibly something interesting.
--
Theater owners are always conscious of how many showings they can fit in per day, but I say BRING BACK THE INTERMISSION. People *will* spend more for refreshments, and not have to miss any of the movie.

  Dearest Cappy, from Jen Lynn
...you need never worry about me, we are cut from the same cloth! Truthfully I will always have your back, I have grown to love Cockatoos over the years! There is one who ruled the roost when she was alive and even I gave her space! She could have been called the silent Rambo, no joke! This old crap is getting very old and we are growing weary of it all, 22 days 'til Spring, but our precious little Chyna says it will be a much colder one than a normal one, jeepers, when will it end! As long as we all have our heath and each other, nothing can hurt us to badly! Life is for lovers and believers, we ARE both, and equally important, we are all well wishers! We are never be jealous of those who have amassed more wealth and fame, we are proud to know them and of their success! We will never be wealthy, but we challenge anybody to beat our true friends and our happiness! TGIF dear friends, and give our love to all in your happy home, see ya tomorrow....
