 We live in Alaska and so we bought her from a exotic bird store in California when she was hatched and picked her up when she was weaned at 4 months. She didn't want anything to do with us, the first day, although she would call out to us if we let the room. On the second day, she stared and stared and stared at me and was making sweet little sounds. And from that moment on, we have belonged to her!. |

Hi, Moki!
We're Mr. Mojo Risin' (just Mojo) and Layla and we live in Soldotna over on the Kenai Peninsula! Mojo is a Congo and I'm a Timneh. We came from NC with Mom and Dad and we've been here 5 years now. Mojo and I are both 6, though Mojo is a few months older and a lot bossier. He is Daddy's "baby" and I love Mommy. I love to take baths with Mommy and won't let ANYBODY come in when we are having fun! The dumb old cat tried to come in and I landed on her back and yelled "Shoo! Shoo!" We think it's funny when people ask "How do you keep your birds warm in those igloos?" Mommy said she sewed little parkas and made mukluks for us! Come visit us! Hey Moki!
Mom has has me since I was 5 months old. She went to Petco one day and when our eyes met I did everything in my power to win her over. Mom had small birds before, but never a parrot. She kept coming back to visit, bringing dad and their daughters. Every time they came I would work hard to charm them. It was love at first sight for mom and me. But being a responsible pet owner, mom bought a book on African Greys to see what she was in for. She read the book quickly and then dad took her back to the store and bought me for mom for Valentine's Day and we are all living happily ever after!!!!!
