Hi Marigold
The parront has not made it to Tampa yet. The person did not call her back yet. So she does not know yet if she finally will be going. She has been very busy lately. The computer is also giving her a hard time. She needs a new one.The weather is cloudy and it has rained lately. It is getting busy at the airport. She has the last test this Friday. She has to keep the proficiency in her job so they test yearly in different areas. This is all for know.
See you next week if she finally does not go to Tampa

I think you are probably right on the chipmunk thinking the seeds was a snack for them. Maybe they left you one or two seeds . Our tomatoes plants are doing GOID to it was hat for a few days but it rained this morning now the sun coming out and getting all humid so that GOID for the planets to.
Brother got the chest tube yesterday ( mom) he slept most of the morning and part of afternoon . The nurse came in and did make Him cough a few times and then told him he needed to get up and walk. Boy brother was not happy they went down the hall and back . He was grumpy for a while. But right before mom came home another nurse came in said lets walk brother did not seem so grumpy mom said this nurse was younger ;) . They was making him cough every hour. He will be home Thursday afternoon. He is eating good so that's a plus to.when mom got home she and dad was talking and mom phone rang it was a friend she was yelling something into the phone at first mom thought she said someone's trying to get in my house mom said call the police. She said no they won't do nothing . Mom said what ? then she said there a Bat flying around in my house. Mom said oh started to laugh. So dad and mom got in the car with tennis rackets and drove over to her house to see if they could get it out. Time they got there they could not find the Bat. They looked for an hour could not find it. So mom' s friend said I'm not staying here I'm going to my daughters. Mom and dad came home . Mom was so tired she went to bed. Guess we had really some bad storms come through around 2:00 am and the sirens was going off police was driving around telling people to take cover. Bad part is mom and dad did not hear any of it they slept through it. Her friend said she tried to call but mom did not answer. Guess they spotted wall clouds were we live. Mom told dad thats was scary. My other brother said he called dad phone about 3 times to warn us but he could not leave he was at work. Mom said usually she hears stuff like that and she did not even hear our weather radio go off. So dad said mom is staying home this afternoon and NAPING he will stay at hospital with brother. . Mom going up later to see brother. Here a vote for you. Hugs SHADOW

I know what happened to those sunflower seeds, they became little snacks to you know who! We have tomatoes on one of our plants, but it's one of those patio tomatoes that you can put in a planter. They are small plants, and grow small tomatoes. These are all still green, and there are more flowers on it, too. Hopefully they will ripen soon, though, mom keeps looking at them...
Our tomatoes in the ground haven't produced even flowers yet, but should do that soon. Hope you are having a good day. Hugs, Giz

Hmmm, seems like those seeds ought to have sprouted already. However, if those chipmunks ate 'em before they could grow then there won't be any sunflowers. Silly wildlife if that is so. There would be so much more seeds if the plant could grow. Perhaps start in a pot and transplant?

One year dad planted a tomatoe plant. It seemed to take forever before there were any tomatoes that were big enough to eat let alone be somewhat ripe. Then it went gangbusters and we had too many! Didn't matter if the wildlife pecked/ate some there was a lot.

Nana never got to have her eye surgery as her BP was way up too high! She and Mom were very disappointed but she kept going to the drs to check on her BP and it just stayed up high and the dr wouldn't give Nana the go ahead til it came down,so now she's on BP pills and was told that she could try again for the eye surgery in three months,hopefully by then Nana's BP will have gone down so she could have it done!On top of all that Nana took a bad fall Thursday and Mom wound up taking her to the Medical Center where they took 7 xrays of her leg(she couldn't walk without severe pain)and the told her that nothing was broken,just a bad contusion from the inside,they gave her a script for heat pads and told her to take tylenol!She is in so much pain and it hurts to walk at all! We sure do appreciate all the prayers you are sending her way,Nana sends her love to you all!
My Mom had that same problem when she planted the sunflower seeds,the birds,or the varmints kept digging them up and eating them on her! Mom still hasn't planted the seeds in her veggie garden yet,she'd better hurry as by the time she gets them in the season will be gone! Our weather has been really crazy here,one day we have sunshine and warm like summer and then its four or five days that are really cold wet and pouring rain,the rain already killed all the flowers in her flower garden,they didn't even stand a chance! I hope you get lots of cherry tomatoes on your tomato plants! We're in a severe thunderstorm watch here til 9 tonight,right now its warm and sunny in the 70's with a strong breeze,Mom is hoping to get us all out on the deck later for a shower and to get some sunshine on our feathers!

Yeah...those baby birdies were so cute and fun to watch grow. They are gone ow!
Oh......I hope the chipmunks didn't eat the sunflower seeds! Can you plant some more? You know....we still haven't seen the peonies that we planted last spring. Shouldn't they be up by now?
Well.....we still don't have any green peppers since some birdie stole the only one we had growing. And we still have one yellow pepper growing. But the cherry tomatoes are really growing. We have about 8 tomatoes...5 on one plane and 3 on another. They are still green but they are growing!

Today is Tuesday. We are blogging because the parront wont be going to Tampa today. The man who is making the arrangements did not call her yesterday. Lets hope for the best she will be going to Tampa next week. If we don't blog next Tuesday is because she finally made it to Tampa. The weather is cloudy.

You get more berries.? Sorry it took me sooooooo long to get back to you I told her today was my day and after this I demand Bird bread NOW. . Did your mom get her flowers planted ? did you get to supervise her? Mom is on her IPad typing for me and the weather app we have just came up with a sever thunderstorm watch for our area until 11:00 tonight . We are so sick of this weather. Dad planted a garden but said we need sun and warm temps to to help it grow not all this rain. mom needs to put in another TOY order for us . Hey can't have to many toys or treat right. She cleaned out 2 Of our toy containers and threw a lot of the old ones away she said they was done we got our use out of them . Yep they was pretty much history. Don't know why she was keeping them. I see she got the Baby cakes cake pop maker out so that means birdie bread. yep she uses a cake pop maker to make our birdie bread its just the right size for us and its cooks them faster. Mom seen a lady that sell dry mix birdie bread and she was using it to make some up and sell at the last bird fair mom went to. So brothers got her the maker for Mother's Day mom loves it. Plus she going to make cookies for the family . im going to supervise . here a vote. Have a good weekend SHADOW

One year the parronts planted at least a half dozen sunflower seed plants since they are easy to grow. They were able to save one for the family and the rest were eaten by squirrels and birds. It was fun to see the squirrel sitting on the sunflower head and extract seeds.

Oh do those sunflower seeds grow nicely once you get them going! My Nana grew them years ago and when my Mom tried to get some to grow I think the wild birds dug them out and ate them! I agree with you they are sooo beautiful and are sooo tall! There are several people around here who grow them and someone even grew some really big ones in one of the median strips around here!
I so can't thank you enough for all the prayers you are sending my Nana's way! She is so worried she won't be getting the surgery next Wednesday,as she's been wanting to be able to read,do her quilting and even watch tv without seeing double images! Mom is taking her back to the drs tomorrow so we'll get the answer then if she gets to keep the appointment on Wednesday or not,we are praying that she will!

That's good to hear about cherry tomatoes ! Last year we grew regular tomatoes and they weren't much bigger than the cherry ones!
So you finished your birdie bread? I had a mini birdie blueberry muffin. I couldn't get it into my beak fast enough!
Oh I agree with you about the fruit! It is extra delicious this year!
That would be so neat if your parronts planted sunflower seeds! Those flowers are so pretty and who doesn't like sun flower seeds? Yummy!

Our peonies came in late, and are starting to fade now.
Not much going on here today, it's raining and mom works at the museum tonight. Today she's going shopping in a while, then will clean our cages before getting ready for the tours in dinosaur hall tonight.
Congrats to the Phoenix Base Flyers for pulling out that win yesterday. The Great Grey Wings put up a fight, it was a good game!

We think those robins will snatch those berries the minute they are sorta ripe. One year we had a volunteer sunflower growing. It didn't get super tall and when it began to droop the birds and squirrels started in on eating the seeds. They were still white! Hadn't ripened to the black/white yet. Guess them critters were hungry. We aren't fond of sunflower seeds so it was always meant for the wildlife anyway.

Think if your mom were to have any of those berries for the flock/family would have to make some sorta barrier to keep the wildlife away.

I'm so glad that you got to enjoy my family's vacation pictures! Those ducks were sooo funny,they would submerge their heads into the water and then swim under the water and pop up in a completely different spot from where they started! It was sooo quiet there,and even the eggspressway and highways hardly had any cars on them either! Vacations sure do go by sooo fast,but I'm happy it did because I really missed my Mom!
I think you have such a great idea of having a deck garden,my Mom did that several years ago and the tomatoes and peppers did well! No matter what you do with the berry bushes the wild birds will get to them,take a bite out of it and just leave it!What a waste!We're supposed to get rain here by tomorrow and it will rain into Saturday and my Mom still hasn't planted the seeds in her veggie garden yet! It's either been to hot,too cold,raining too hard or she's off and running taking Nana to the drs appointments! Well,maybe Sunday if it's not raining or something! LOL!

Finally my mom posted the pictures. That is our little patio garden. We were surprised at how well the cherry tomatoes are growing. We had a cute little green pepper.....and a bird must have taken it. Hope none of our other veggies go missing!
The baby birds were so cute. Now that they are gone we can put the screens down and I can start going out on the patio! I can't wait!

The parront had to change her plans for next week. This week she will be home and next week hopefully she will be able to go to Tampa, so we wont be blogging next week because she is our typist heeee. The weather here is cloudy and some rain. How are mom's flowers coming along? Our peonies are up, the day lilies and orientals are growing nicely, but not in bloom yet. The irises are nearly done already, it seems it was a short season for them somehow.
We got a lot of time out of our cages yesterday, mom was actually home from about 3. Congrats to the Mighty Macaws on their first win, both teams played well. The Pois were disappointed, but we did our best. It rained overnight, so we don't have to water everything today, just the pots on the porch and under the overhang in front. No birthdays or graduations today, so if the sun stays out, mom will be going to the pool for awhile, then taking her sister out for birthday dinner. Did I say no birthdays? I meant no parties, just a dinner out. I hope you are having a great day, lots of time with your folks, since it is the weekend, and maybe even some time outside! Hugs, Gizmo

It's kinda nice to be able to help out the wildlife with some food, but be also great if there was enough for the flock and family as well, heehee. The parronts always think it's good that nearby wildlife is healthy so less likely to get sick with something that might spread around. We have found that this crop of fresh fruit has been mighty tasty.

Oh those wild birds are such thieves . We don't Abe a blackberry or rasps berry bushes but we have a peach tree ad ET me tell you those squirrels re even bigger thieves. As the peaches are just growing and starting to ripen the squirrels steal them. Parents find a half eaten peaches on the ground were the squirrels will take a bite or to and toss it. Dad get so

Little Jeter went home with his mom this afternoon But will be back tomr cause his mommy has to wrk . Mom and our dogs hated to see him leave but he was happy to see his mommy.

That's the same problem we have with our garden here! As soon as the berries ripen and Mom goes out to harvest them from the garden the wild birds have beaten her to them first! Or she'll find some strawberries that have little bites taken out of them still hanging on the vines! We even have some varmints here that eat our tulip flowers and squash flowers from the garden! Mom just brought home some fresh blueberries and cherries the other day from the grocery store and do we ever love to eat those! Mom is going to give them to us outside today as our weather has finally turned warm and its so nice to be outside again and get our showers and dry off in the sunshine! Plus when we fling the berry skins it won't get all over the wall or on the floor!LOL!

Mom did all the outdoor RVS animals today. In one of the pens the chart said there were 13 raccoons. She went in and lifted the lid on one carrier, saw no raccoons. She pulled the blankets and towels out of 3 more carriers, and still saw no raccoons. She did see a pair of eyes in the last carrier, so she cleaned the cage, brought in fresh water and food, and guess what? That carrier was like a clown car! All 13 of the babies were in there, and they all came tumbling out and dashing for the fresh food. Even though the volunteers aren't supposed to make noise, mom couldn't help herself, and she burst out laughing. The other pens were not as eventful, but the weather was great for working outdoors. Today is in the high 70's but yesterday we got a bad lightening storm and i posted 3 videos of it on utube. two of the videos the counts are under 20 but geeze my one video that is 1:27 minutes long is up to over 350 votes and counting and its not even 24 hours yet since it was posted. Thats very exciting. Plus the weather channel wanted my video and i said yes BUT so far they didnt respond back saying they took it. But with how high the count is i think that at least these news channels are watching it. I have a few news channels that pass my video around with my permission and now the weather channel is keeping an eye on my videos too. Its not like i am a storm enthusiastic but i seem to catch alot of storms. Ok anyways if you want to see my popular video just go to utube and type in Storm in the chicago suburbs May 28th 2013 and it should pop up. I have a similar one with a similar name but the one i am talking about you would know it was the correct one by its hits. The other one is almost a similar name. And than i did a video reponse putting one of my videos below the popular one. The popular video i opened up the patio door and at one point you hear a loud bang like lightening struck a block away or something.

Monday was dreary with the sprinkles (no real rain here) and coolness. Yesterday was all sun and breezy and perfect spring temps too.

Our mom bought some super fresh, juicy sweet strawberries last week. We decided not to eat 'em. She keeps offering it to us, but so far we haven't seemed inclined to try it. We eggpect Mayo made a nice pic with the berries.

The baby Tiels are not babies anymore they big like me. But mom says they still babies oh bird feathers. They lime summer squash, fruits and veggies, corn on the cob is one of their favorites. In fruit they like bananas , blueberries, apples, melon, mangos , peaches all my favorites. popcorn, gold fish, you should see how blue my face is when mom gives me blueberries or blackberries . I go right into the shower to get it washed if. But it still stains. I really dig my beakers into them.

We are under another Tornado watch tonight . this is the 3 rd night in a Rowe enough is enough great another night of storms grrrrrrrrrr. . Mom and brothers are going to take the dogs for a walk later that us if its not storming out... kicking your vote.. Hugs SHADOW

Thats nice they like fruit. At xmas time i gave Feather this large toy and it was really too big to fit with the other toys and so i had it laying under the cage for a while but i now got rid of a few dusty toys and stuck the large toy in there and she is chewing on it slowly. I like to give her new toys after a while. And like i said she has 3 toys coming in the mail. She is a happy bird. I need to get some more video of her real active and than post it on here and utube. I found this real old June 2007 video i did of a mother bird sitting in the nest with its birds and i posted it to utube. I normally wont post old videos but that video was worth it a really cute video. Maybe i will download it here since its a bird video.

Did you get to have a BBQ on the weekend? My Parronts along with me and my baby fister Candi got to go to Nana's for a BBQ! It was a bright sunny warm day but as soon as Mom finished grilling the last piece of chicken wing the temperature dropped and it got really cold really fast! And by tomorrow we're supposed to have the temperatures in the 90's but where we are we'll probably only get 80's as we're always cooler on this side of the Bridge! Mom gave us some chicken to taste and we had fresh cherries which were really good too! Strawberries and blueberries and blackberries are soooo good,I can't wait for my Mom to go grocery shopping to get us all some fresh fruit again,while she was gone on vacation we had to have the dried fruit and that just doesn't compare with the fresh fruit at all! Mayo must be sooo cute just waiting for your sweet Mom to come over with the fruit for him!

The baby tiels are all weaned and eating on their own now even Shiloh decided that seed pellet mix, fruits and veggies tasted lots better then her formula she really likes chicken, and pasta. Coco will eat just about anything she really likes apples and bananas

We got thunder storm this morning but it clear up and got very warm out. So we went outside for a while. Not much more going on here. Have a fun Sunday. FRIENDS SHADOW VOTE FOR YOU

How is it going. Today i ordered Feather some toys online. You would think it was xmas but i just wanted her to have some new toys. She will be so happy. I ordered 3 toys along with some nutriberries and some cage liners for the bottom of her cage. She is doing good at her age. It got cold the last few days like 50 degrees. At first it was like summer again and we even put the air on a few times but then one day it was about 40 degrees out and we had to turn the heat back on. Now the heat has been back on the last 4 days because without the heat there is too much of a chill in the air. In fact even with the heat on i am wearing winter clothes in the house. I dont mind because its gonna get real hot soon. Memorial day i am doing nothing just working a 8 hour day.

I sure agree with you! Kallie is in such a mood these days!
Ever since Mom came home he's been flying after her and wanting to sit on her head constantly and he won't leave her alone so today she finally had to lock him in our bird room and shut the door! It sounds like we're getting the same weather as you are!Today was another rainy cold damp day in the low 40's and tomorrow isn't going to be any different it looks like! I just can't wait for the summer to come and we get warm weather again and this time it stays! All our pretty flowers in our garden are dying and getting killed off from all this heavy rain and wind!

We are getting a bit warmer again. Mom is having an allergy issue so has stayed inside. That means more out of cage time for me.

I hope it works for you next year, and you see lots of lilacs! Congrats to the Silver Sluggers for a good game yesterday. The Wonder Wings played well, too, but the Sluggers pulled out a win!
Our weather is awful this weekend, today and tomorrow at least. We have frost warnings for last night and tonight, too! So mom's plans for going to the pool are shot. She has a birthday party for a grand niece and grand nephew today, so she will go to the party, even though they will probably forgo the cookout due to the weather. She has to go get some supplies for the dogs at the pet store, too. Other than that, we'll probably be out in the yard, if it's warm enough, watching mom do more gardening. If it's not warm enough for us, she'll be out there by herself. It's her first days off in weeks, so she's really behind in weeding and maintenance work.

Hey Marigold!
Remember last summer when my mom and dad grew the sugar snap peas from seeds? And how excited mom was to watch them grow? And all we got were five miniature sugar snap peas? This year mom wanted something already grown to give it a chance of survival! Heehee!

Sounds like dad stomachs are more important than taking a couple seconds to whip that cage cover off. Really, that's literally only a few seconds keeping a dad from the coffee pot or cereal box or whatever. 'Course if they're having cereal we want some too. And at our house there's only one birdhouse cover to take off!

Well, we chested this year and planted plants that were already growing! We have an itty bitty green pepper growing, and two tiny tomatoes....cherry tomatoes! Hope we get more!
