 Sarah was purchased by a friend at an animal auction. She was fully feathered and seemed friendly. She was suppose to be 3-5 yrs old.Within 3 days she pulled out every feather and hated her new male owner.
I saw her only once and feel in love. I offered to buy her from him, and the rest is history. When I read her leg band, she was 24 at the time.. |

DAY 16 ~ THANKS FOR THE VOTE!
DANIA’S LIFE part 8
Before I ever got Luigi and Angel as my pets, I used to beg every single day for a pet. Ever since I was 4, I would wine and cry for a pet. The answer I got was a no, as always. Growing up, whenever I found out one of my classmates has a pet, I would go to my parents and use it as an excuse to get a pet. Then when I was around 13, I got very jealous when I found out my uncle got a hamster for his son and daughter and my neighbor friend got a canary. Well that made my beg and cry like crazy. So after begging for 12 years, my mom got fed up of me never giving up on this topic. So she discussed with dad and she asked me, what pet do you want? Well my options were short; I wasn’t allowed to get a dog, for obvious reasons in my religion. A cat will make my parents sneeze. A reptile was out of the question, and then I remembered how I loved playing with my grandma’s budgie. I decided I wanted to get a bird. Ok, the type of pet was decided, now the type of species was the argument. I told my parents I wanted a how bird that can talk and I could cuddle with. I asked to get a big bird, then no was the answer. First of all, theres no room in my house, second, I can’t put the bird outside since it’s freezing in Canada. So my parents told me you can get a big bird in Lebanon where it’s nice and warm. Ok, so the bird was going to be smaller, but I didn’t care because I wanted a pet really badly because I wanted to hold it and play with it. So when we went to montreal one time, there was a pet store in one of the big shopping malls. I went to see it and there was a whole bunch of small and medium birds. I saw canaries up high up on the cages. And fischers lovebird, cockatiels, it was a wonderland. At first I wanted the cockatiels, but mom thought they were noisy since they were screaming when I approached them. Then I saw the doves and I thought they were lovebirds. I told my mom I wanted the doves, she said no because they are harder to take care of. My mom pointed to the real lovebirds, they were so small, but then I thought about it. poor mommy's back is all sore. I wish I could give her a massage! thanks for the comments sarah and happy mothers day to you! Today mom saw a pic of her little sister in her class with a cookatoo sitting on her. Mom freaked out and got sad that they didn't tell her that theyre was actually parrots coming for their class! she would have brought me plus she wanted to go and cuddle with those beautiful birds. oh well she missed the chance. DAY 12 ~ THANKS FOR THE VOTE!
DANIA’S LIFE part 4
After moving in to our new house, my grandpa was becoming ill unfortunately. He lived with us along with my grandma, they were my dad’s parents. Moreover, my other grandpa got cancer, he wasn’t in great condition. The last time I visited him is when I was 2 years. I still remember that I was at the door and my family was around me, and he knelt down and picked me up and put me on his lap. But sadly, my grandpa , my mother’s dad, died at the age 60. It made her mother very sad and for him to die at 60. Then my other grandpa who lived with me was becoming so ill that he couldn’t walk the stairs anymore, and he would barf on the stairs. I still remember those happenings when I was 3 years. I saw my grandpa die on the bed, and my grandma calling my mother who called my dad. Grandma was crying, and dad ran upstairs seeing that his father died. It was really sad, and even at 3 years I had no idea what was going on and I wanted to come into the room but they didn’t let me in. I saw everything, my grandfather died at the age of 81. Shortly after dad arrived to the scene, the funeral car came into our garage and families were coming to visit. I didn’t understand what was happening but I saw strange people put my grandpa into the car. They were going to bury him in Lebanon where my other passed close family members were buried. The same thing happened with my other grandpa, and I know mom was really saddened to see her father passed away. Me, I didn’t know what was like to have a grandpa. I know that my grandmas are still alive now, and the one living with me is the one who I care for the most. She raised me and looked after me since I was born, and seeing her die will make it so hard on me, she is my everything. My family is my everything. My grandma now at 87, still active and looking after my younger siblings to help my mom when she is at work and she cooks great food too hamdilah, thank god. DAY 7 ~ THANKS FOR THE VOTE!
FATHER’S PAST part 2
So after father boarded the plane to head to Canada, he started learning English and got a job at GAL POWER as an engineer. He lived in an apartment in downtown. It was hard to get around not being able to speak English as well but eventually he made a friend at his work who spoke the same language as him. One of father’s many adventures in Canada was fixing the electrical area behind a stage in front of the parliament where celebrities were supposed to preform on stage but the power went off. Luckily, father was able to fix it and everyone was back to cheering as the singers and performers came on stage. Furthermore, father was adjusted to the life in Canada except the fact that it was cold since in Lebanon it was warm. And so he was immigrating his family to Canada. First he brought his parents, then his sister and he was going to immigrate his two other sisters, which one of them is married and his older brother was in the united states but alas, Canada wasn’t accepting anymore immigrants so the family was separated. It was unfortunate and frightening since the war was still going on in Lebanon but he was able to communicate by sending mails to his sisters. So everyday they would send mails and even his parents to check on how they are doing and hoping everything is fine. Father had his parents and his sister live in the apartment with him. His sister worked as a teacher in Lebanon but had to get a new job, she went to college in order to work in the government. DAY 3 -THANKS FOR THE VOTE!
MOTHER’S PAST part 2
When mother arrived to Canada, the first thing her parents did was buy a home; it was a small home they bought as her parents couldn’t afford a big one. As mother lived in her home, there were no stoves to cook. That time they couldn’t afford a stove either so they bought cooked food from Harveys and others places that were affordable. Luckily, mother had an uncle who owned a candy shop near her so she was able to get sweets too. Mother had to share rooms with her older sister, the rooms were very small, and had mattresses on the floor. Furthermore, they only had a small kitchen, small living room tied with a small dining room, even smaller bathrooms and the stair only went up short. There were only four rooms upstairs and quite small too. They lived in a small neighborhood with houses stuck together. It was crowded in the house but happy they have shelter. Then she became a student at hawthorn public school, she couldn’t speak English but mother was able to speak French so she was able to communicate with other students and her teacher. Mother worked hard at learning a new language and soon she was able to speak it when she was thirteen. Everyday mother worked hard to do well in school so she would have a bright future and help her family earn money. She kept her marks at straight A+, her mother usually got mad when it was lower, but it was out of concern. Mother had to learn everything on her own and always went to the library from the morning to do research and stayed there until closing time just like what her twin siblings and older siblings did and her older brothers had to get working jobs to make money for the family. And even at a young age mother would do all the chores and clean the kitchen while her mother did the cooking. Mom has 7 siblings in her family; her youngest sibling was born in Canada. She had to take care of him, clean his diaper and wash him. She took care for him every day. Her dad worked hard everyday to earn money so the family could get food and eat. DAY 2
MOTHER’S PAST part 1
Mom’s mother was 6 years when the civil war began, everyday mother had to run with her siblings to get to her home while there was gun shooting and bombings happening after class sessions in school were dismissed. Mother’s mother was screaming every time for the sake of her children to get home safely without getting hit by the guns firing. Lebanon was being defended at that time. Even when mother came home safely with her siblings, they weren’t able to buy food from stores as it was very dangerous outside. Mother had a neighbor who made bread and passed them to others who were starving and to mother’s family. She was being protected in order to give the bread the people needed. So food was brought by neighbors every day and came to doors or by windows. One time while mother was in the house helping her mother clean and cook, an explosive device came from the gunfight and blew a hole in mother’s home. They were in shock and terrified but luckily no one was hurt. By the time mom was ten, her dad and mother decided to take refuge to Canada, he bought the flight tickets and were lucky they were able to. So even though mom was saddened to leave her friends that she played with outside as a kid and leave the home she loved, she was glad too that her family will be safe now. DAY 1
INTRODUCTION
Hello bird friends. My campaign is about the civil war in Lebanon, where my mommy is from. Our family fled from our country from my mom’s dad’s side; 21 years ago to the safety of Canada as well as my mom’s mother’s side fled 19 years ago, to escape the civil war between Lebanon and Palestine, and Israel that was brought to Lebanon in the year 1975 and ended in 2000. I’ll be talking about my mom’s mother’s past and my mom’s dad’s past and how they took refuge to Canada and how they lived in Canada from that point on. My mom’s parents never met until they met each other a few years later in Canada. Hi there Sarah
One good lookin' Goffin's! How sweet! All week-end tied up with an Agility trial with our Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Babette. Not such a bad week-end. We got our Level 2 title. Now on to Level 3. And in one event at the Chamionship "C" level, we had a qualifying run. Also good! Wifey took care of the birds, as I had to get up at 5 am and out of the house by 6 am. Exahusting week-end but lots of fun.

I hope u had a wonderful march break. Lots of hugs and kisses to u too! Happy saint patty's! I was thinking of doing the BBQ PARTY near the end of June. It's Calico.
Good to see you.
We have had Spring like weather for the past two weeks. It's really nice. Dad opens all the windows in the house and we get the fresh air.
Dad has been doing a lot of work in the yard and today he'll do more. He's getting used to the soreness or at least he isn't complaining about it as much.
Yesterday we all got our cages cleaned and dad moved us all into the kitchen and he cleaned our room. We're all nice and tidy, now.
Yes, let's hang out at the park. We can take a picnic lunch. You can pick me up tomorrow it you like.
We'll try to make it to the parties but mom's mom is coming over to watch some recorded TV programs and dad has to baby sit the DVR.

its great to hear from u. ur momma wants a pic of me and my mom? I understand that ur mom requires it but I hope she understands the privacy of others. my mom will try to send a photo of her and me but just remember to delete the photo right away when my spotlight is done. my mom isn't comfortable with having herself in the pic. can I just be in the pic? I hope u understand.
