The Miller flock is safe and sound .... that said ...
Yesterday was a very tragic day here in Oklahoma. Mom locked down for hours on the Air Force Base while Tornado ravaged the Moore area (just south of the base). We have many friends and Co-Workers without homes now. Civilian Co-Workers will have double whammy with the loss of loved ones and a triple whammy with the upcoming furloughs to start on July 8th. So far 91 is the confirmed dead count and its expected to rise as we have not located everybody yet. Praying for everybody affected ..... hoomans and animals alike

A Dixie C/P: I overheard mom talking about a Cappy Cam (spy camera)! Mom is thinking about investing in one so she can spy on us all (especially Cappy) during the day .... Not sure I like that idea. A Dixie C/P:
Mom is very frustrated ... she got Cappy the new cage and he has already escaped ... broke a weld on the food bowl door and out he went for a wonderful day of destruction. Lets see, he destroyed the air filter (literally) and ate the cord right out of the electric socket (we had it protected with PVCS pipe), destroyed the pre-filter and left its trail around Rudy's cage, destroyed the avain scale, destroyed an ink pen, pulled out his pan (all the way mind you) and shredded the paper, chewed up a few toys except what was in his cage, tried to get Rudy out of his cage by unscrewing his food door lock and throwing it on the floor and mom doesn't know yet want else he got into SIGH. Never a dull moment. Cappy very lucky momma loves him hehehe. V4U. Hugs.

No time to elaborate but all is well in the Miller flock ... for the most part. Mom is adjusting to new spectacles and dad is the same. Cappy bit daddy for lack of attention and I still am not in my new cage. The folks are trying to replace a missing wheel before putting my cage together. Furloughs are postponed but expected to occur and we may be looking at a couple of pay periods were we loose 30% but we will have to wait and see. Furlough notices are expected the first week of april. Sigh. Gotta run, have a wonderful day. V4U. Hugs.

I know my folks will get me in the bird room eventually and into the bigger cage ... just have to wait until they have recouped from their surgies a bit and get the energy to prepare a place for me. Awesome on the new cage deal. Mom always says the bigger the better. I had a bigger cage before I came here but mom said I needed one smaller until I learned to be a little more comfortable ... I am ready for my big cage back but I think my folks have a problem with where to put a bigger cage .... I know it would fit in the bird room but the folks just haven't got arounf to it yet. I am free, I am bouncy, I am flying all over the house, I am flying to dad and avoiding mom, I am attacking Rudy in stealth mode and won't give up ... I am so eggcited to be out of quarantine!!!!!!! Dr has determined tests are false positive as we have received a negative from a different lab. Its so eggciting to be out where I can see everyone and interact with everyone .... umm but that got me in trouble when I went for blood on Rudy .... that one landed me in jail for the night .... what can I say, I am the only one who deserves attention .... RIGHT .... RIGHT!!!

Yes I had a wonderful Christmas even if it was a couple of days late. New Years day morning I got to romp on dad and wake him up ... mom let me out to get him up and I did. Then we all played on the bed for a couple of hours. I hated when they had to go spend their time with the other flock mates though ... sure wish my test results would get back sigh. Well we didn't get what mom would call a white christmas but we did get a small, very small, dusting of the white stuff on Christmas day. Hmmmph, not even enough to make a birdie angel sigh. The folks spent most of the day at their folks' house so we didn't get much attention and hmmmm no presents. OK I am not a happy camper .... were are our gifts???? Mom says Friday or this weekend ... ummm what's up with THAT???? Calling on all birds to lodge a severe complaint against my new folks. Well my mom started me out with smaller toys and has since graduated to the medium to large toys. I have managed to destroy everything installed into my cage to date LOL .... even the large toys ... they just take a little longer. Well I got my DNA test back and it's official ... I'm a girl ... no idea why they didn't just ask ... I would have told them lol. Still waiting on the other results. Sorry have been offline lately. Dad has been having severe pain and unable to work so we have been concentrating on him. He has another CT scan scheduled for this Friday.
I had to go to vet Saturday the 8th for another blood draw that was supposed to be sent off on Monday the 10th. So we are back to waiting again. The vet really thinks its a false positive. She brought a silly duck named Sherbet into the exam room with me and mom and dad laighed so hard when I poofed all up and spread my wings ... then I chased that silly duck all over the exam room .... the vet was also amused but I just wanted that thing away from my folks lol.

Mom asks for prayers as I have just tested positive for Avian Bornavirus. Mom is going to have me re-tested and hope its a false positve as they are known to happen. Not feeling bad or showing any clinical signs of being sick so hopefully just a bad test! Have a wonderful day. V4U. Hugs.

A Power Backups Battery malfunctioned in the bedroom and was emitting toxic fumes and made me sick. I was potentially getting toxins for about `8-10 hours before the folks found out the problem and started airing out the house. Bad fumes. I started having trouble breathing and started feather picking bad so folks took me to vet. $100 just for ER visit then they took blood and put her on oxygen for the night and part of the next day. They also gave me fluids because I was vomiting and had lost some weight. Scary deal but blood came back ok. The folks also went ahead and did a full well bird exam to check for viruses and did a dna test ... the virals and dna will be a few days for those results but since I was there it was good time to get it done. I like to cuddle too. Mom says I am extrememly bitey when her hand is resting on her chest but not really at other times ... weird. She is thinking hormones or maybe I am just playing really rough .... either way I suppose she doesn't like that too much LOL. Maybe she won't mind if I bite a finger that wasn't so sore LOL. Mom discovered that if she offer sthe finger as opposed to whole hand I am much more comfortable and will step up most of the time now.
I apparently bit hard on a sore finger last night though and ended up back in the house for the rest of the night. I was just trying to test my limits ... guess I found it. Have a wonderful day. Hugs.
