Gizmo here, to thank you so much for the hatchday wishes and votes, which made it possible for me to be BOTD. And what a two days it was. Sorry I am a bit late but life was chaotic here with a snow storm and ice pellets. Mom surprised me with a cake, and my favorite toy, one I liked when I was a little grey, one which she said she could not find anymore. I guess she found one. She cooked our favorite supper, because it is MY favorite supper. Of course my hatchday came on a dance lesson night, but she brought me with her, and I was a good girl. I even danced with the other people who were learning the new dance. Mom said she brought her partner along for the partner dance, since she does not have one since she moved. She shares with someone for learning the new dances and when she goes out on Friday nights sometimes people ask her to dance so she is good with that. I got to drink water from a bowl that belongs to the teacher’s cat but it had been washed first. Mom got clean water for me and she brought snacks along for me too. Having been at the castle before, I partied like there was no tomorrow and with so many birdies coming by to congratulate me, I was in the spotlight all day and night. I truly felt like a Queen. Of course some of my flock tagged along. What would a day at the castle be without my fisters and frothers. I do have to say I am not the Gizmo who is up for BOTM – a few of you got me confused with that Gizmo, my namesake. We are just birdy friends. PLEEEEEZE don’t vote for me til the end of the month by mistake now. I love having friends, but this is not the way. Thanks so much for the BOTD congrats! Would you believe the Cuddler forgot my hatchday? She got a text from Screech's pops telling her I was BOTD... she thought, "Uh oh, that means yesterday was his hatchday!" It's okay, though, I didn't mind TOO much. I am helping Annie take care of her eggs so I spent the day either sitting on them or guarding the nestbox. They should start hatching in a couple days, so I guess I'm getting babies for my hatchday gift!

Wow, I can't believe I won Bird of the Day yesterday, thank you so much everybirdie! I had a wonderful time in the castle with King Chaka.
I am still getting used to my new home, and I'm still kinda scared of everything, but mommy says I will get used to everything soon. I got to meet Miss Weasley, Bellatrix and Hermione today. Mommy brought their cage in my room so I could say hi. They seem very nice. I can't wait till I can come out of the cage to meet them. Weasley is so beautiful, I bet she's nice too.

Thank you so much for helping me celebrate my day of fame as BOTD! It was a huge surprise. Sorry I couldn't write back sooner, mom went on that Parrot Lovers Cruise. We're back online, and have a lot of catching up to do, so hopefully over the next few days, we'll get all caught up. The cruise was lovely, it was mom's first, so she had nothing for comparison. The people who organized it had speakers for each day at sea, and some appropriate excursions planned. We'll talk about New Orleans first, though. The excursion there was good, mom saw lots of the French quarter, the Garden district, the downtown area, and the St. Louis Cemetery, with the grave of Marie LaVeau. The day before, she and her sister did their own walking tour of the city too. It was a great experience. We'll talk more tomorrow, Hope you are having a great day today. here goes the canary with a Santa hat!!!We know it's a bit early for Christmas themed pics, but mum just wants to show you the idea she had! She's going to make a lot of Santa hats & everyone who orders a bird from now on, will get one for free. What do you think of that idea? Mum wants to remind you that if you decide to get a pal for Christmas, now is the time to order. The post office has a date line for Christmas mail, so better be early than late!

Thank you for the vote for BOTD (Band Of The Day)! We really enjoyed our day in the castle with Pearl and Silver! The castle groundskeepers had to get out FOUR more thrones! They were eggs-austed.
Mommy has some guests over here, her sister and brother-in-law. She doesn't get us out nearly as often because they brought two little dogs with them, a Yorkie and a Havanese. They are adorable, I guess...just annoying. You never can tell what those little dogs are gonna do, so we can only come out when they are put away in their crates.

We want to thank you (belatedly) for helping us win Business of the Day last week! We were at Birdie Camp with no internet access and are only now able to properly thank everybirdie. A new song list is posted every week so we hope you come back and and visit and try your hand at identifying the songs by their lyrics. Thanks again for BOTD, I had a lot of fun. If I win BOTM you're all invited to spend some time in the castle.:)
Florida skipped spring and went right to summer. Mom's upset because she wanted some nice warm breezing weather, not hot and humid weather.:( But she said she's gonna take me outside on the pool deck tomorrow.:D
Mom's trying to teach me to do some tricks other then turn around. We are working on waving.

Blinking~
Birds love when you blink at them, and will normally do it back. You can turn blinking into a game! When mom blinks, I blink back, and then she blinks faster, and I do it faster, and ect, ect. This is also good for gaining trust with a new bird.

The make a mess game~
Get some tissue paper for both you and your bird. Rip yours up, and your bird should so the same. The bigger the mess, the more fun your birdie is having!
