My cousin used to breed birds and I got Hiccup from her.
His birthday is January 31st 2011.
Patriot:
He was found outside on the Fourth of July. He had a broken leg and was beat up pretty badly. He is doing much better now, and he and Hiccup are best friends.

Morning hiccup
Subject: Never Anger A Nurse...
A big shot attorney had to spend a couple of days in the hospital.He was a royal pain to the nurses because he bossed them around just like he did his staff.None of the hospital staff wanted to have anything to do with him.
The head nurse was the only one who could stand up to him.She came into his room and announced,"I have to take your temperature."
After complaining for several minutes,he finally settled down,crossed his arms and opened his mouth.
"No,I'm sorry," the nurse stated,"but for this reading, I can't use an oral thermometer."This started another round of complaining but eventually he rolled over and bared his behind.
After feeling the nurse insert the thermometer,he heard her announce,"I have to get something.Now you stay JUST LIKE THAT until I get back!"
She left the door to his room open on her way out.He cursed under his breath as he heard people walking past his door, laughing.After about 20 minutes,the man's doctor came into the room."What's going on here?"asked the doctor.
Angrily,the man answered,"What's the matter,Doc?Haven't you ever seen someone having their temperature taken?"
After a pause,the doctor confessed... "well,not with a Daffodil.."

Hi, Hiccup, Hi Patriot,
It's June 1st and the start of our BOTM campaign. Here's today's c/p:
A year or so ago our friend, Emilian #175441, nominated us to run for BOTM. Kiddo #7592 urged us to accept and we figured it's a year away, mom'll have time to figure something out, lol. Well, the year has gone and it's our time to start campaigning. Spirit Cloude #144812 gave us some helpful tips since he ran his own successful campaign last year and his mom made us some fantastic pics, the first of which you see. So, we are doing something simple, but we hope still fun since mom has limited time on some days. We are doing a lil quiz, Jeopardy style wherein we give some answers to a person's identity and see if you can figure out who he/she is. Each days date will include 5 people who were born or died on that day and the year. Also a random song has been selected to see if you can identify who the singer is. Good luck and have fun!

Good Afternoon, Hiccup & Patriot
Hooray! Happy June 1st! I'm so excited to have the computer back to myself :) I have so many things to tell you!! But first off, I'd like to say THANK YOU to each and everyone of you who prayed for me when I was ill. Thank God, I was only feeling funny for a few days. Mom suspects that it was a cold, but it could have been something else, since it was very short-lived. Anyway, I probably would've gotten worse without your prayers, so, THANK YOU!
Now for a bit of bad news. Y'know Annie, the baby cow, and her momma Claire? Well, Mom had to sell the two of them to a dairy farm nearby. I know, Mom said (and honestly thought) that she would keep Annie till she was an old girl, but after a lot of thought, the family decided that they had surpassed their pet limit.. I mean, there were three cows, three dogs, two alpacas, one duck, one goose, two dogs, roughly 50 chickens and myself.. all of whom were/are pets! And why waste a perfectly good milking cow like Claire, and possibly good future milking cow like Annie, by just keeping them here on the farm as pets? So now, for cattle, Mom only has one steer. We are still keeping Rokko, because the chances of finding a home for him, that wont beef him in a few years down the road, are very slim.
Now onto a HAPPIER note! Meat chicks arrived on Tuesday.. 66 of them!! I know, that's a lot, however all but 7 of them are going to be butchered this late summer/fall :( But another exciting thing about chicks is that Mom has a hen that has been brooding a clutch of eggs since the middle of May. The first baby (whom we're referring to as "#1") hatched Tuesday night or Wednesday morning (he/she was discovered midmorning on Wednesday). #2 hatched, with the help of Mom's brother, yesterday afternoon. Seems like #2 might have a slight leg deformity though.. also it seems quite weak, so it might not make it :( There were some peeps coming from #3 so maybe it'll hatch today?

Hi hiccup
An old German Shepherd starts chasing rabbits and before long, discovers that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a panther heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch.
The old German Shepherd thinks, "Oh, oh! I'm in trouble now!"
Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the panther is about to leap, the old German Shepherd exclaims loudly,
"Boy, that was one delicious panther! I wonder, if there are any more around here?"
Hearing this, the young panther halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him and he slinks away into the trees.
"Whew!," says the panther, "That was close! That old German Shepherd nearly had me!"
Meanwhile, a squirrel who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the panther. So, off he goes.
The squirrel soon catches up with the panther, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the panther.
The young panther is furious at being made a fool of and says, "Here, squirrel, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!"
Now, the old German Shepherd sees the panther coming with the squirrel on his back and thinks, "What am I going to do now?," but instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear, the old German Shepherd says...
"Where's that squirrel? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another panther!"
Moral of this story...
Don't mess with the old dogs... Age and skill will always overcome youth and treachery!

Hey Guys
The cookout at her daughter's house was really good last evening, even though mom and the rest had to eat inside due to some rain.
Today at the center, mom did the raptors, a whole bunch of ducklings and goslings, a snapping turtle, the education bunnies and the pheasant. She was soaking wet when she got home, because it was hard work and very hot and humid already this morning. She just got back from the pool, though, so mom feels refreshed, and is ready for an evening of fun with all of us and the dogs, too. You two look great with the crowns. Sugar did a nice job of it. Oh, good that you identified which is which color. We remember that Hiccup is the yellow one since that's the one pictured on the cookbook page, lol. It was only a matter of time for Patriot to get to know and trust your mom since it was probably obvious to him that you love and trust her.
