We purchased him in Pennsylvania (we live in CT) in October of 2006. He didn't like woman, he took to my husband in a few weeks. It took 4 months for me to gain his trust. And now we sit together everynight for a couple hours and cuddle. I still don't trust him 100% but he is a completly different bird since we got him home. and now he spends just about all day out of his cage. When we first got him his belly was all fluffy and he was plucking. he hated baths , was never introduced to water. He now gets a few baths a week and his feathers are growing back in slowly, I haven't seen anymore plucking :) That is how we met, and I couldn't be happier... And I don't think he could be either.....

  Hello from Pippin
I think it's great that you are letting your pretty feathers grow in. Hey you have the same name ase that other really famous Grey from the Alex foundation. He is super smart... I bet you are too! My brother Brett likes to chew on his feathers so mommy gives him red palm oil to help with his dry itchy skin. Great to see you on the channel.

Come visit me, Brett - Greater Vasa Parrot, Pippin & Ollie (the bird formerly known as Harry).

  Hello from Gabby,
Hi Alex, I'm a grey too! Welcome to the club. It's funny that you said that about your fluffy belly, mine's fluffy too. My mom thinks it's because my skin got dry during the winter and I start picking at my feathers. Do you think your more frequent baths have helped you stop picking? Please come visit me too. Here's a vote to welcome you!

Come visit me, Maui, Kona, Gizmo & Gabby.
