 There was a gentleman who was wanting some info on how to advertise Ballou on a website to find him a good home..He had Ballou for 16yrs and he was no longer able to care for him in the way he should. I contacted him to help him with this issue and we talked about Ballou for two days..then I hadn't heard from him for 6mos..I got an email from him asking me to take Ballou and care for him for the rest of his life..I was elated! I went over to meet Ballou and spent a few hrs with him..I Brought Ballou home about 4 days later on my Birthday! Best gift of my life!. |

Ballou
Ballou is moulting...again...his older feathers are dark in color for some reason..I am thinking he's not getting enough uv rays...so we go outside when the weather permits..lately it's been 108 around here but after 7 or 8 p.m. it cools off enough to go out and enjoy the sunshine..His "room" as I call it (never a cage) is now in front of the sliding glass door which he thoroughly enjoys...he loves to look out and see whats going on out there especially when his dog siblings are out there playing...we do go out frequently weather permitting however it's just been too hot..Ballou is preparing for flying lessons. He is almost ready to go out and stretch his wings! well really mom is preparing I'm sure he has been ready for quite some time...He is 16 yrs old after all...he is very dependent on me and wants my interaction constantly which makes it difficult to get chores done but I certainly wouldn't have it any other way! He has saved me from some pretty dark times in my life and he truly has become my best friend...I can't remember what life was without him and I certainly don't want to go back! Well..time to go for now but we will be back with some progress on his flying lessons...wish him luck..wish me luck..lol..Come visit me, Ballou.
