Mom is not happy tonight. She believes someone is messing with her yahoo account and she can't log in. :( She is also very upset about who won The Voice.

They had fun earlier today. Tonight they went to a little kids concert for Auntie. More fun tomorrow!

FRONT SEAT

A policeman in the big city stops a man in a car with a parrot in the front seat.

"What are you doing with that parrot?" He exclaimed, "You should take it to the zoo."

The following week, the same policeman sees the same man with the parrot again in the front seat, with both of them wearing sunglasses.

The policeman pulls him over. "I thought you were going to take that parrot to the zoo!"

The man replied, "I did. We had such a good time we are going to the beach this weekend!"

Well, good news is it looks like g'pa will be home tomorrow ! The surgeon was really happy with his progress - of course that means today after dropping g'ma off at the hospital today, dad will have to get thier lawn mowed ! It looks like a jungle after all the rain ! Yesterday's was a short quick downpour, right as mom was leaving school and heading to her car ! ha ha ha

They did nothing special today, just some bowling and beach time. Mom sucked at bowling, but she did have lots of fun! Mom can't wait to show you the feather painting she's working on, but you have to wait until it's done. It's a blue and gold macaw painted across a bunch of b&g feathers. It looks great so far. (:

You Know You're a Bird Person When

You spend your last $5 on stuff for birdie bread even though payday is still four days away and the only thing left in the cabinet for you to eat is noodles and pop tarts.

GOLFING PARROT

A golfer took a vacation in Florida. He was a big bettor and always had at least $500 riding on each round. He asked at the pro shop if there was anyone around who liked a little competition, and the pro introduced him to a man named Joe.

"Is Joe a good golfer?" the man asked when Joe left to get his clubs.

"He doesn’t look that good but he always seems to win his matches," the pro replied.

The man met Joe on the first tee, and they agreed to play for $500. On the first tee, Joe hooked his drive into the water, and the vacationer won the hole. On the next hole, Joe topped his drive and then shanked his second shot into the trees. The man won that hole, too. On the next tee Joe took off his hat and scratched his head. When he did that, a big parrot flew up and lighted in a nearby tree. "Want to double the bet?" Joe asked.

"Sure," the vacationer said, already counting his winnings as he stepped up to the tee. On the top of his back swing, the parrot made a noise like a train whistle, and the vacationer wiffed the ball and lost the hole. On the next hole, which required a second shot over a pond, the vacationer selected his iron when the parrot said, "Five iron’s too much." The player changed to a six and hit it into the water. While the man was putting on one hole, the parrot said, "It breaks to the left," but the putt broke right. The man missed it to go three down. By the 18th hole, the vacationer was ten down to Joe and glaring at the bird.

"What do I need to do to get rid of that lousy parrot?" he said to nobody in particular.

"Just pay me $100 more than Joe does," the bird said.

Only 4 more days of school for mom - hooray - and if healing continues the way it's been going, g'pa will be home on Wednesday ! Lots of tubes and wires were unhooked yesterday and his appetite is coming back . . . dad will probably stay at his parents' house the first few nights incase his mom needs help - so there'll still be a bit of "neglected Cookie bird" syndrome :(

Thank you, flock and family for all the prayers - they worked and are still working ! BC friends are the best !

We were supposed to have rain last night, but it never came . . . I hope it doesn't come while I'm home alone !

The good news is g'pa started complaining about the hospital food ! Mom had to run out and get him a roast beef sandwich for dinner last night - now he wants fresh fruit and a muffin for breakfast !

Meanwhile, I stayed home alone and worked on a Father's Day present for dad . . . confetti ! ! Be good to your dad today and wish him a Happy Father's Day :)

Mom went to a petting zoo today! As you can imagine, she was quite thrilled, because she adores animals. There were goats, alpacas, pigs, sheep, donkeys, bunnies, a chicken, and mom's favorite, a deer. She was the only animal that was not in a pen, and she was really sweet. They got some feed for the animals, and she enjoyed feeding them. She didn't get many pictures though, because her hands were covered in slobber. :P Outside of the petting zoo, there were a bunch of beautiful horses. Mom just LOVES horses. She got to feed a big clydesdale an apple, and he got her hand so sticky! :P She, however, loved it! She was not happy when it was time to go to the beach, because her bathing suit was rubbing on her sun burn and it really hurt! Today they went to the beach at 7pm, so it wasn't very hot. THANKFULLY! The tide was coming in, and the water was all funny. Mom, Auntie Ellie, Grandma, and friends Laura and Jill went on a crab hunt! They found soooo many animals! They found 5 star fish, 2 slugs, and a bunch of clams and hermit crabs! Don't worry! She let them all go before they left. It was funner then yesterday.

Hooray for the sunshine ! It'll make today so much easier since the parronts will be gone. G'pa was moved out of ICU yesterday afternoon so mom ran off to see him. Today they'll visit for a while this morning when they bring g'ma and then again when they go to pick her up !

I'll probably work on some nice confetti for dad for Father's Day ! What about you ? What's up at your perch ?

Thanks for the vote! I forgot to tell you guys that mom hates the beach, so she is not having as much fun as the others. She said she finds no enjoyment in sitting in the 90-100 degree weather while getting sun burn. (Yeah, she got sun burn on her neck and shoulders today) Sadly, that is what the friends that are with us want to do the most. Poor mom! Hopefully they will get to do other stuff that mom will enjoy. XD Mom is also the odd woman out of the group. Grandpa is hanging out with the male friend, grandma is hanging out with the female friend, and Auntie Ellie is hanging out with their 4 year old daughter. Mom's friend is her Theodore Boone book. XD She did see something cool at the beach today. Someone was fishing and they caught a really tiny shark! He brought it up on land and she got to see it up close, there is a picture in the gallery for y'all to see!

I'm sure hoping the storms missed you ! It's still pouring here ! Soon I'll pull out my tool kit and start building an ark !

Mom is back to school today, while dad and his mom head to the hospital to hang out with g'pa - on and off at least - he's still in ICU but will hopefully be moved to a room later today. His surgeon is not only skillful, but a very kind man. When he came out to the waiting room after the surgery to let g'ma in for a couple minutes he actually helped mom carry her bookbag to the elevator !

A burglar got into a house one holiday night. Shining his flashlight on the floor in the dark, he heard a voice say, "Jesus is watching you."

He looked around nervously, shook his head, and kept looking for valuables. He heard again, "Jesus is watching you." This time he shined his light all over, and it rested on a parrot. He asked, "Did you say that?" The parrot admitted that he had. "I'm just trying to warn you, that’s all."

The burglar sad, "Warn me, huh? A parrot? Who are you? What's your name?"

"Moses."

"Well, what kind of idiot would name a parrot Moses?”

The bird answered, "The same idiot who would name a Rottweiler "Jesus”……

Hi Charlie Keet!
Good evening everybirdie! I am very lucky to be able to blog tonight, mom is busy, busy, busy! This morning and afternoon she was busy putting together all of Peatree and Jester's things, and then when grandma came home from work at seven, they went to take the two of them to Uncle Charlie's house. They didn't get back till 11pm! D: After they came home, mom started packing her stuff until she remembered that she had to blog for me! So here she is sitting at the computer instead of doing productive things. :P She still has to finish packing, roll change, clean a little bit, and a few other things.

For those of you that don't know, mommy and the family are leaving on a week long vacation to Hilton Head SC tomorrow. They are staying in a condo by the beach with grandma and grandpa's friends. I believe mom has packed every single art tool she has. XD All crammed into a little bag and a backpack, she has two sketch books, three canvases, colored pencils, water color pencils, graphite pencils, charcoal, at least 15 bottles of paint, paint brushes, erasers, a large pencil sharpener, her hot glue gun, extra hot glue, and tons of feathers. She'd have a panic attack if she didn't bring EVERYTHING. XD Oh mother!

For some reason you're attracted to anything with a bird on it... greeting cards, dishes, mugs, clothes, jewelry...

THE PLUMBER

A lady was expecting the plumber; he was supposed to come at ten o'clock. Ten o'clock came and went; no plumber; eleven o'clock, twelve o'clock, one o'clock; no plumber.

She concluded he wasn't coming, and went out to do some errands. While she was out, the plumber arrived.
He knocked on the door; the lady's parrot (did I mention she had a parrot?) said, "Who is it?". He replied, "It's the plumber.".

He thought it was the lady who'd said, "Who is it?" and waited for her to come and let him in. When this didn't happen he knocked again, and again the parrot said, "Who is it?". He said, "It's the plumber!".

He waited, and again the lady didn't come to let him in. He knocked again, and again the parrot said, "Who is it?". He said, "IT'S THE PLUMBER!!!!!!!!".

Again he waited; again she didn't come; again he knocked; again the parrot said, "Who is it?"; "Aarrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!!!" he said, flying into a rage; he pushed the door in and ripped it off its hinges. He suffered a heart attack and he fell dead in the doorway.

The lady came home from her errands, only to see the door ripped off its hinges and a corpse lying in the doorway, "A dead body!" she exclaimed, "WHO IS IT?!".
The parrot said, "It's the plumber."

Here it is Monday morning again ! And thank goodness for friends since mom and dad were gone a lot ! The finally got home after celebrating Father's Day with g'pa last night (surgery Thursday means he'll still be in the hospital next weekend) and I yelled for my tub ! Boy did I get soaked . . . so did dad ! ha ha ha - that'll teach them to leave me alone on a bright sunshiney day !

When's the next party ? And when do we get to see some vacation pictures ?

GOING, GOING, GONE!

One day a man went to an auction. There, he found an exotic parrot. He really wanted this bird, so he got caught up in the bidding. He kept bidding, but kept getting outbid, so he went higher and higher and higher.
Finally, after bidding much more than he had intended, he finally won. The bird was his!

As he was paying for the parrot, he said to the auctioneer, "I sure hope this parrot isn't defective. I'd hate to pay this much money only to find out that he can't talk!"

"Of course he can talk," said the auctioneer. "Who do you think kept bidding against you?"

PET SHOP PARROTS

A man goes into a pet shop to buy a parrot. The shop owner points to three identical-looking parrots on a perch and says, "The parrot on the left costs $500."

"Why does it cost so much?" asks the customer.

"Well," the owner explains, "that parrot knows how to do legal research."

The customer asks about the next parrot and is informed that it costs $1,000 because it can do everything the first parrot can do plus it knows how to write a brief that will win any case.

Naturally, the increasingly startled customer asks about the third parrot.

"$4,000," says the shop owner proudly.

"Wow!" the customer exclaims. "What can he do?!"

"To be honest," the shop owner admits, "I've never seen him do a darn thing, but the other two call him Senior Partner."

RUDE PARROT

A young man named Jon received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity.

Jon tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary. Finally Jon was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. Jon shook the parrot and the parrot got even angrier and ruder.

Jon in desperation threw up his hands and grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then, suddenly there was total quiet, not a peep was heard.

Fearing that he had hurt the parrot, Jon quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto Jon's outstretched arm and said "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I am sincerely remorseful for any inappropriate behavior."

"I fully intend to do everything I can do to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior".

Jon was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. He was about to ask the parrot why he had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, but the bird continued... "May I ask what the turkey did?"

Well, mom got home at about 8:00 last night from Philadelphis and had a bite of dinner and went to bed same time as me ! It was a perfect day - the weather was warm but dry and sunny - the kids were really good (even on the bus !) and the building collapse (so sad) was about 15 blocks away . . . as soon as it happened every adult's phone started ringing - the principal calling mom, other parents calling friends who were chaperones . . .

Two morons stand on a cliff with their arms outstretched. One has some budgies lined up on each arm, the other has parrots lined up on his arms.

After a couple of minutes, they both leap off the cliff and fall to the ground.

Laying next to each other in intensive care at the hospital, one moron says to the other, "I don't think much of this budgie jumping."

The other moron replies, "Yeah, I'm not too keen on this paragliding either."

MAGICIAN’S PARROT

A young magician started to work on a cruise ship with his pet parrot. The parrot would always give away the tricks saying things like, "he has a card up his sleeve" or "he has a dove in his pocket."

One day the ship sank and the magician and the parrot found themselves alone on a lifeboat. For a couple of days, they just sat there looking at each other. Finally, the parrot broke the silence and said, "Okay, I give up. What did you do with the ship?"

A postal carrier is working on a new street. He comes to a garden gate marked BEWARE OF THE PARROT! He looks down the garden and, sure enough, there's a parrot sitting on its perch. He has a little chuckle to himself at the sign and the parrot there on its perch. The mailman opens the gate and walks into the garden. He gets as far as the parrot's perch, when suddenly, it calls out: "REX, ATTACK!"

Hot, hot, hot ! And don't you know, mom has recess duty on Thursday - that is after her class takes their NYS Science exam :( And before they all have to head back for the spring concert which was postponed last week because of the storms -

So mom is leaving again huh ? When and for how long - need to know how much to pack when I come for the party ! That's so exciting that she'll get to meet mama Rose :) My mom and dad did that - without me too - If you look in Dixie's gallery, I forget if it's the 2nd or 3rd page, there's a picture of mama Rose, nana and my mom, and there's one of my dad with Dixie !

Turned nice finally :) Of course mom is back to school today - dad has to go to NYC for a lecture tonight so it'll be just me and mom later. She says we can go out on the back deck :)

The parronts spent lots of time at the in-laws this weekend - g'pa (dad's father) has mitravalve surgery coming up on June 13 and so the parronts are up (about 25 miles) there a lot these days helping out -

Of course mom has only 19 more days of school ! Hooray ! How's the house selling going ? Many lookers - or do you guys scare everyone away ? LOL

Memorial Day weekend
and it's just now starting to warm up ! Mom and dad went to the flea market today and tomorrow will go see a niece who's in a drum and bugle corps in a CT parade.

Question . . . has mom read FLYAWAY by Suzi Gilbert ? Mom found a pristine copy at the flea market for only $1 and couldn't pass it by - even though she already has it ! So we're looking for a good home :)

What's new in your world? Are you the smallest fid in the family? Are you the only 'Keet in the crowd? I can picture you making every effort to be heard over the Macaws and Zons and Grey birds. The sun actually came out yesterday ! Just in time for mom to take her kids outside to play with a toy canal she has - and then to rescue dad when his car battery died !

When they finally got home I had a soaking bath and snuggled with her - she was so sad by the devastion and loss in OK . . .

Did I see somewhere your mom is heading to PA to meet up with Falco's mom ? Lucky !

Great to see you in the stands yesterday ! Wooo Hooo ! What a great game . . .

Looks like spring has returned . . . and no plans turned into babysitting on Sunday - mom's niece called last night to see if the parronts would take her son (13 months) for the day. She's in a drum and bugle corps (CT Hurricanes)and has a rehearsal - So I'll get to play with hime - I like to throw toys at him !

let me congratulate you on your win yesterday ! What a game :) We have our first today . . .

Mom and dad are thinking about heading down to BirdParadise this weekend - it's the first weekend in a long time there have been NO plans ! So that sounds like a good plan to me ! They love to go down there just to play and hang out . . . and as long as the weather's nice and there's not too much traffic, it's not even a bad drive . . . just over 2 hours :)

What's up at your perch ? Any other lookers at the house ?

Awe shucks, you really thought I looked regal with a crown on, did you? Cool. I'll remember that for the next time I need a little pick-me-up. How right you are about the smaller the bird the bigger the bite. I've heard it said around here that if mom HAD to make a choice, she'd take a pinch from the Harlequin over a bite from a cantankerous 'keet or a tick-offed 'tiel. (We become cantankerous and ticked off when we have to be confined for say, nail trims or some other need for man-handling.) That's really something that Moggie can still do damage even though he's missing that all important tip on his beak. Maybe he has two now instead of one? Double the puncture-power! Owiee!

See you on Monday for the Opening Ceremonies at Kevlar Memorial Stadium. See you on TUESDAY in the dugout! Oh YEAH!

Quick hellos today -

With Mother's Day tomorrow all household errands (marketing, laundry . . . ) have to get done today before mom heads over to school. It's not the performance she's concerned about, it's the cast party afterwards ! Imagine near 40 kids between 11 and 14 with pizza, soda, munchies, cake and loud music ! YIKES !

Wanted to wish everybirdie good luck for tonight or if you're not racing . . . lots of fun ! ! I'll make sure mom brings me round sometime in the next day or two to see how things went !
