Before the month winds down, we want to Thank our loyal friends for all their support, kind words and encouragement throughout this past month.
Love from Mark and Flitzer

Dad's Special Movie Memory:
As kids we would get to a movie theater once in a while. Mostly for a Kids Matinee.
We almost never visited the Refreshment Stand. There was one special time which was an exception.
Dad was treated to a special movie with his Mom. They went without the rest of the family -and It was an evening showing, She even bought him popcorn. Can't recall if it was a Birthday or whatever - just that it was a special night.

The film was "MARY POPPINS", which, ever since has been a special movie for Dad.

We spoke earlier this month about how a few notes of music can make a movie-memory come sweeping back. Any music from ‘Mary Poppins’ makes Dad think of that special Movie Night with his Mom.

  Flitzer on Winners and Classics
Kiddo raised an interesting topic: Films that did Not win The Academy Award for 'Best Picture', but they are now classics, many times surpassing the Oscar-winning film.
in the Awards Game there has to be a winner, and losers. There will be endless discussion as to outcomes, but only time makes a film a true Classic.
A couple of examples:
The Year: 1941. The Oscar-Winning film, "How Green was My Valley" [a personal favorite and a wonderful film], but the nominee that did not get the award was "Citizen Kane" which many feel is one of the Greatest Films Ever Made.
The Year: 1952. The Oscar-Winning Film, "The GreatestShow on Earth"
...same year as "High noon" and "The Quiet Man"
The Year: 2005. The Oscar-Winning Film, "Crash"
...same year as "Brokeback Mountain", a film which many consider a Classic.
= = =
Will this year's winner, "Birdman", remain considered the Best of the year?
or will “American Sniper”, "Boyhood" or even "The Grand Budapest Hotel" be remembered...only time will tell.

  Flitzer Wednesday Thoughts . . .
Still in "Recovery-Mode" from Hollywood's Big Night.

Some of you BirdChannel friends have expressed that they don't watch The Oscars.
Dad doesn't really like the Hollywood Glamor-thing and some of the industry politics,
but we do love movies.
Often we are disappointed with what films and actors win the awards. That is all a part of the game. We often look back on past years with a knowing smirk, realizing that the movies we liked best that year are the ones that are still being watched and appreciated.
All that being said, we do like tuning in that one night a year, when Hollywood goes all-out and celebrates the talent, work and yes, the tackiness of The Hollywood Movie Machine.

  Flitzer Parties with the Stars
Inside Oscar’s Glamorous After-Parties
The night doesn’t end when the final Oscar is handed out. In fact, the party is just getting started as stars and execs exit the Dolby Theater, heading to a flurry of post-awards celebrations, including the Governors Ball, the Vanity Fair Party, Elton John’s AIDS Foundation party and more.

The Governors Ball
By the time celebs arrived at the Governors Ball, they were ravenous. As usual, the event was catered by Wolfgang Puck -- a fact he made sure everyone was aware of.
Before the Oscars began, he walked the entire red carpet in his chef's whites with a tray displaying some of the treats partygoers would be offered at the after-party. Among them: caviar-topped baked potatoes, chicken pot pie and mac and cheese with aged cheddar. There was also a dessert bar, though most guests skipped the cookies and cupcakes in favor of Puck's trademark mini gold-covered chocolate Oscars. The candy men were kept just feet from a station where winners headed with their real gold statues and queued up to wait for engraving.
Vanity Fair Oscar Party
Location: Wallis Annenberg Center, Santa Monica Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA
Details: Graydon Carter hosts the Vanity Fair Oscar party at a custom-designed space which connects the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts with City Hall. Above photo, Lady Gaga attends while right, Oscar-winning best supporting actor Jared Leto photobombs Anne Hathaway.
InStyle Oscar Party
Location: Fig & Olive, 8940 Melrose Place, West Hollywood, CA

Guy Oseary and Madonna’s Late Night Party
Details: Undisclosed. It’s happening, but a source close to the event says Madonna will be unable to attend since she’ll be in rehearsals for The Brit Awards on Feb. 25.
Elton John Oscars Party
The Elton John AIDS Foundation hosted its 2015 Academy Awards viewing party in West Hollywood on Sunday. The annual event, now in its 23rd year, serves as a star-studded fundraiser for the organization, which John founded in 1992 to support HIV/AIDS care, prevention, and awareness.

John and his husband David Furnish serve as co-hosts. Gordon Ramsay is once again providing a five-course gourmet dinner, and there will be a special musical performance. John, who joined Instagram in December to document his wedding to Furnish, is now using his account to share intimate pictures from the exclusive celebration. Before the Oscars ceremony began, the music legend revealed $4.85 million had already been raised, and later shared an adorable picture of his sons watching “Uncle Neil” Patrick Harris host the show.

Miley Cyrus, Heidi Klum, Nina Dobrev, the Osbournes, Aaron Paul, Alec Baldwin, Rob Lowe are among the celebrities in attendance. Plenty more are expected to join the festivities once the Academy Awards show ends.

Flitzer and Dad Sleepy after Oscar Parties
"The costumes, the scenery, the makeup, the props
The audience that lifts you when you're down
The headaches, the heartaches, the backaches, the flops
The sheriff who escorts you out of town

The opening when your heart beats like a drum
The closing when the customers won't come

There's no business like show business
Like no business I know..."
Dad says it will take a couple of Blogs to cover his disorganized reactions to the 87th Acadmy Awards. [Dad is old and scatter-brained anyway, but I love him].

= = =
First Things First: The Opening Number was Awesome. The best in years.
The other highlight of the show was Lady Gaga's tribute to the 50th anniversary of "The Sound of Music" -like her or not, her performance was phenomenal.

Dad's pick for Best Dressed: Rosamund Pike‘s red hot custom Givenchy gown

Although Dad thinks there were better films last year, anything called "Birdman" gets my vote too. It took hom 4 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.
Dad's favorite film this year was "Whiplash" which won three awards, including JK Simmons winning for Best Supporting Actor - Dad says he had the best performance of the year and his gold statue was the most deserved.
It's interesting that each of the eight nominees for 'Best Picture' went home with at least one Oscar
Best Picture: “Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)”
Director: “Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)” Alejandro G. Iñárritu
Best Actor: Eddie Redmayne in “The Theory of Everything”
Actress: Julianne Moore in “Still Alice”
Supporting Actor: J.K. Simmons in “Whiplash”
Supporting Actress: Patricia Arquette in “Boyhood”
Adapted Screenplay: “The Imitation Game” Written by Graham Moore
Original Screenplay: “Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)” Written by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Nicolás Giacobone, Alexander Dinelaris, Jr. & Armando Bo

Flitzer ready to co-Host The Oscars
Oscar Sunday
= = = = = = = = = = = =
Singing: "It’s a wonderful night for Oscar…Oscar, Oscar!" --Billy Crystal
= = = = = = = = = = = =
Billy Crystal is my favorite Oscar Host. He has hosted NINE Times between 1990 and 2012.
As far as I'm concerned he could keep on hosting.
The origin of the name Oscar is disputed. One biography of Bette Davis claims that she named the Oscar after her first husband, band leader Harmon Oscar Nelson; Walt Disney is also quoted as thanking the Academy for his Oscar as early as 1932.
Another claimed origin is that the Academy's Executive Secretary, Margaret Herrick, first saw the award in 1931 and made reference to the statuette's reminding her of her "Uncle Oscar" (a nickname for her cousin Oscar Pierce). Columnist Sidney Skolsky was present during Herrick's naming and seized the name in his byline, "Employees have affectionately dubbed their famous statuette 'Oscar'". The trophy was officially dubbed the "Oscar" in 1939 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
I am ready for a great night. We have snacks, a coffee cake, champagne and Dad'll be picking up "subs" [Submarine Sandwiches]. Just a small party.
Have a great night, everyone. ~Wings Up~

  Flitzer's Saturday Squawks
Instead of saying who I think will win Oscars, or who should win, I will simply concentrate on what I consider the Best Films for the year.
Top Films of 2014: My Top Films this year:
#1: “Whiplash”: (Dir: Damien Chazelle).
"Whiplash" is such an amazing film in every way. The Directing, the Writing, the Editing, the Cinematography. The performances are outstanding.

A film about Talent, Ambition, Obsession. Pushing oneself beyond known abilities. - -Soaring above the rest.
"Whiplash" won both The Audience Award and The Grand Jury Prize at Sundance - an amazing feat.

Filmed more like a thriller than a film about music, it becomes a battle of wills between our protagonist [Miles Teller] and his mentor-[a truly amazing J.J. Simmons]. It is an exhilarating work from the start to it's adrenaline-rushing finish.
#2: “Boyhood”: (Dir: Richard Linklater).
A celebration of Life and being human. A simple story of growing up becomes profound and moving. Filmed over 12 years, the story and characters grow as the real-life filmmakers do, and the end-result is wonderful.

Richard Linklater is a talented, insightful director. I think the time has come to acknowledge his achievements.
3. “Calvary”: (Dir: John Michael McDonagh)
Beautiful, sad and scathing portrait of a simple priest struggling with his own humanity and trying to do good in a small sinful town.
A truly great performance by Brendan Gleeson and a portrait of the True Power of Forgiveness. It is a film of Faith, of Doubt and Transcendence.
4. “Birdman” (Dir: Alejandro González Iñárritu)
Michael Keaton shines in this fascinating exploration of Creativity, Talent and the cost of Fame. The tale winds seamlessly and breathlessly to the last shot.
5. “The Babadook” (Dir: Jennifer Kent).
A superior horror tales that is brilliant in every way. What an amazing first film: Writing, Direction, Cinematography --- pitch-perfect performances.
An amazing film that works on a few different levels.
6. "Edge of Tomorrow"
7. "Enemy"
8. "Ida"
9. "Into the Woods"
10. "Jodorowsky's Dune"
11. "Locke"
12. "The Immigrant"

A Sneak Peek Inside the Glamorous Oscars Governors Ball
Party Party Party
When all 1,500 guests make their way into the 2015 Oscars Governors Ball — the Academy Awards’ annual after-party — they’ll be entering an old-school Hollywood speakeasy.

When all 1,500 guests make their way into the 2015 Oscars Governors Ball — the Academy Awards’ annual after-party — they’ll be entering an old-school Hollywood speakeasy.
The room will be adorned in plush velvets and tapestries, and will feature hundreds of black-and-white photographs from the Academy’s collections.
“The colors are very rich jewel tones – burgundies, purples, deep greens and golds,” says celebrity florist Mark Held. “We’re trying to create a different look for each table. Some tables have vintage-looking lamps, some tables are tone-on-tone purple, and for some tables, we’ve created man-made flowers out of succulents. It’s very eclectic.”
Aside from the stunning décor, Hollywood’s A-listers will have plenty to munch on, as chef Wolfgang Puck has created 32(!) unique dishes to serve over the course of the meal.
“When we do a menu for 1,500 people, we have to have enough dishes so that there’s something for everybody,” explains Puck. “Some people are vegan and vegetarian, some people don’t eat fish or don’t eat meat. Because of that, we made 32 different dishes, from a little parsnip chip with eggplant puree, which are a little Middle Eastern, to lobster rolls with bacon, which is traditional American.”
Other dishes include baked potatoes topped with caviar, black truffle chicken pot pies, Wagyu shortrib with squash puree, chilled sweet pea soup, and Puck’s signature Oscar-shaped smoked salmon matzo. (350 lbs. of smoked salmon will be served in total!)
Of course, no party is complete without some festive drinks. Piper-Heidsieck will be serving up 1,500 bottles of champagne — including about 750 of their exclusive Rare bottles — while Sterling Vineyards will be providing 2,400 bottles of wine.

  Flitzer Wednesday Squawks
The Director of a film helms the project - it is his vision which ends up on the screen -the scope, the mood, the pacing. He normally chooses the actors and crew that can best fulfill the work he/she envisions. Although a collaborative effort, the Director makes the big decisions and it responsible for the final product.

Due to strange rules of The Academy, there are 8 'Best Picture' nominees this year, yet only 5 Directors can be nominated for recognition.

In my eyes, Director RICHARD LINKLATER has been the most creative, experimental, thoughtful and accomplished director of the bunch. Although 'Boyhood' may not be his best film, I am rooting for him to win 'Best Director' this year.

Enough already, Dad. You keep taking over the computer and talking about all these movies I don’t watch!
Time for Flitzer’s Favorite Film: “The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill” (2003, Dir: Judy Irving)
This film focuses on the flock of cherry-headed conures (and a lonely blue-headed one named Connor) who flock around the Telegraph Hill region of the city and their closest human companion, Mark Bittner.
I love everything about this film. The story, the photography. The beautiful parrots.

Favorite Film Scores:
I love "Movie Music".
Music is so important in setting the mood of the film. It heightens the tension, the suspense, the romance....
Often we don't even notice the music as it is such an intricate part of the fabric of the film.

Sometimes it takes seeing a movie a few times to appreciate the score.

The greatest film composers know how to play on our emotions while we do not even realize it.
It only takes a few notes of the score to have movie memories come flooding back. We recognize the music for the shark in "Jaws" instantly, and can picture Scarlett O'Hara with just a couple notes of 'Tara's Theme'.
My Top Favorite Musical Scores for Movies:
1. "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir - Bernard Herrmann
2. "Dead Ringers" - Howard Shore
4. "Ben-Hur" - Miklós Rózsa
4. "Out of Africa" - John Barry
5. "Cinema Paradiso" - Ennio Morricone
6 "All About My Mother" - Alberto Iglesias
7. "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" - Ennio Morricone

The Theatrical Experience.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
My Dad prefers to watch films in the movie theater. He goes sometimes once a week.
Often older Classic Films, or Foreign Films or Independent Films. He does see more current releases, but is very selective with those.
Dad believes in the Theatrical Experience. He does not pay for cable TV or dish, and takes that entertainment money and spends it at the movies.
There is something special in the communal experience of an audience in the dark - laughing at something funny, or holding its collective breath in suspense. It is a very special shared experience you can't get at home watching a DVD.
Being enveloped in the huge picture, the expanse of sound.
The smell of freshly popped popcorn is a special treat. Dad says a movie isn't the same without a nice bag of popcorn in his lap.
I like to share special movies at home with Dad and sometimes his friends as well. Often what we see at home are films Dad fell in love with At The Movies.

"We'll always have Paris.": "Casablanca", Dad's Favorite Film:
"CASABLANCA" (1942, Dir: Michael Curtiz)
Although Casablanca was an A-list film with established stars and first-rate writers, no one involved with its production expected it to be anything out of the ordinary.
It was just one of hundreds of pictures produced by Hollywood every year.
"Casablanca" had its world premiere on November 26, 1942, in New York City and was released on January 23, 1943, in the United States. The film was a solid if unspectacular success in its initial run, rushed into release to take advantage of the publicity from the Allied invasion of North Africa a few weeks earlier.

The film's reputation grew as audiences embraced it. Casablanca won three Academy Awards: for Best Picture, director, and writing (screenplay). Its lead characters, memorable lines, and pervasive theme song have all become iconic. The film has consistently ranked near the top of lists of the greatest films of all time.

The Great Studio Era: MGM
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc.Once the largest and most glamorous of film studios, MGM was founded in 1924 headed by Louis B. Mayer. Studio billed itself as having "more stars than there are in heaven", a reference to the large number of A-list movie stars under contract to the company.
MGM stood for the Best & the Glamorous. The Studio specialized in Musicals and great Dramas during Hollywood's Golden Era.
The Studio's Motto was "Ars Gratia Artis", is a Latin phrase meaning "Art for art's sake".

  Flitzer Fun Film Facts:
The Oscar statue costs how much?
[Numbers from 2014]

The value of the 24-karat gold-plated statue is tied with the price of gold, which is currently about $1,600 per ounce. According to The Hollywood Reporter, that means that each of this year’s 50 statuettes from manufacturer R.S. Owens is worth about $900.
The price of getting dressed

[These numbers were from 2011 -I'm sure cost has gone up a bit]
The average cost of a gown worn during the Academy Awards ranges from $5,000 to $15,000, according to one celebrity stylist. But that's just a small part of the total cost of getting dressed for Oscar night. Stars who hire a stylist to pick out an outfit will cough up between $1,500 to $6,000 per day for that service.

Movies Talk!

The primary steps in sound cinema were taken in the mid- to late 1920s. At first, the sound films incorporating synchronized dialogue—known as "talking pictures", or "talkies"—were exclusively shorts; the earliest feature-length movies with recorded sound included only music and effects.

The first feature film was "The Jazz Singer", released in October 1927. A major hit, it was made with Vitaphone, which was at the time the leading brand of sound-on-disc technology. Sound-on-film, however, would soon become the standard for talking pictures.

By the early 1930s, the talkies were a global phenomenon. In the United States, they helped secure Hollywood's position as one of the world's most powerful cultural/commercial systems.

  Flitzer at the Movies
Hello, BirdChannel Friends. Flitzer in The Director's Chair here.

This month is Oscar Month, so we're going to be Squawking about Movies.

Stay tuned as we dish about the stars, the films, those hideous designer gowns and all the poop that hits The Red Carpet.

The beginnings of film:
Silent Films were never silent!
Rather than leave audiences with only the noise of the projector as an accompaniment, theater owners hired a pianist or organist or, in large urban theaters, a full orchestra to play music that fit the mood of the film at any given moment. By the early 1920s, most films came with a prepared list of sheet music to be used for this purpose, and complete film scores were composed for major productions.

  Hi Cousin Chuey
Hello BC commando's, Amando here on this final day in the Brazilian Rainforest. We we took a bite out-of-crime, Sugar and Dory watched baby Armando. He was very restless and alert as he listened to the screams and calls of the angry birds. Suddenly he hears a familiar call echoing over the treetops. He replies happily. The calls continue as baby Armando replies over and over again. Captain Finny appears over the edge of the clearing, and there, following close behind are two beautiful adult Blue-fronted Amazons. The three land close to Sugar. Baby Armando stands up as tall as his tiny legs will allow him to and chirps non-stop. A lovely Zon moves closer, chirping softly in reply. The baby gets even more eggcited.
JL and Amando whistle in loud short Zon calls and the attack comes to an end. The birds leave their prisoners lying entangled in the nets and rejoin them near to baby Armando and the two wild Parrots. The wild Zon reaches forward to touch the baby gently, not certain if it is their chick after so long. The baby responds with happy chirps of happiness, "Momma? Poppa? it is me baby Armando."
The two Parrots grin happily and snuggle their stolen offspring to them. "How do we ever thank-you for saving our baby, and freeing our flockmates from the cages those evil poachers had them imprisoned in? Our flock was once very large over 80 adults but the poachers come again and again stealing them away, taking our chicks from our homes. They cut down our nest tree and stole Armando and our two other babies. We now have no home to take Armando to."
Gus speaks up happily, " we have a nest for you. BB built it to trap the poachers but we didn't have to use it. It is solid, and warm and we will put it high into a tree were you and your family will be safe."
The BC Commandos cheer as they watch baby Armando with his Momma and Poppa. The family is so happy to be together once more. "Sadly this is not the true outcome of poaching. Humans can help stop this awful trade in wild-caught Parrots by becoming our voice in the World. By NEVER buying Parrots without bands or documents showing where they originated from. Remember that many wild Parrots are sent to Europe to be shipped back into the USA. Encourage Eco-tourism as an alternative to poaching. HELP US STOP THE UNNECESSARY TRAPPING OF WILD PARROTS THROUGH OUT THE WORLD!"
Remember Paoo, what he suffered because of human greed, and also remember that many former poachers now fight on the other side of the law because of their intimate knowledge of the area and of bird habits, these poachers-turned-rangers are undeniably the most able bird conservationists available.

  Hi Commando Chuey
Amando here, shhhhhh! We are just preparing to wage an all-out attack on five poachers int he Rainforest of Brazil. Make sure you have your camo hat on, and let's await JL's order to move in!
The Green Angels and Finny have found Armando's Momma and Daddy!! But have warned them that it's not safe to reunite them until we get those poachers. So even though they are very anxious to get their little Armando back, they've agreed to wait and help us. They're up there with the Green Angels and Finny right now in the tree tops tending the nets, ready to cut them down at a moments notice. Their awaiting the signal, but they're really geeked!
Jenny-Lynn and Amando stand on fallen tree limbs, Sky is perched in the tree near to the trap nest box. The Special Forces are standing, beaks ready at the net ropes. Zippy has already begun working on a rope that holds a large webbed net. Suddenly JL and Amando let out a shrill Zon whistle, the signal to begin their attack. The birds begin to chew and tear at the ropes holding the nets in place.
With wave of her wing JL leads the BC troops into battle, "we will do what we came here to do, and by the way you have all come together, we shall be invincible!" moving ahead she exclaims, " WE SHALL LEAD FROM THE FRONT! No more stolen parrots, no more needless suffering, are ya with me gang!" Then loudly so the startled poachers hear," Poachers, this is not your day, on this day you pay for your cruelty.'
The startled poachers turn every-which-way trying to see who has spoken. Then out of the jungle, from the sky above come the birds, screaming in anger as they swoop in for the attack. JL and Amando see the Blue-fronts crammed into wire cages and their hatred boils over. Cappy attacks the ring-leader without mercy, biting his hand hard and refusing to let go. The Special forces have the nets freed and as the five cowardly criminals try to run, the net falls entrapping them like they the innocent Parrots they have caught in the past. The air is filled with screams of outrage as the wild Blue-fronts arrive to help. The men scream in fear as bird after bird attacks, biting or pooping on them as they struggle to get free of the nets.
BonBon and Parker are gone to get the jaguars! The cats are very eggsited to help get the poachers! Their kind is also being poached for their fur! The angry jungle cats growl fiercely as they see the poachers flailing in the nets they'd set to trap Parrots. The poachers cry for help, like the Parrots they've captured but no one can hear them. Falco and Jesse free the trapped Zons from their prison, only one is injured from this group. They join in the assault on their enemies.

  Hi Cousin Chuey
Hello to all my Amazon Adventurers, Amando here with an update on events as they unfold in the Tropical Rain forest. Some of asked about those blue-fronted Amazons in the cages in my gallery. That is where our Armandos family will end up if we do not stop those poachers from trapping them for the PET TRADE. I have no doubts we will put a stop to their plans.
BonBon, Boo Boo, Pepper, Angel, Chyna, Polly, Zippy, LA and Dixie sneak off through the undergrowth to get a better look at what the poachers have been working on. Being very careful and quiet they work slowly towards the opening where the Green Angels have observed their enemies devilish work. Taking note of the area, the nets and where each poacher waits, hidden in the trees for the unsuspecting Blue-Fronted Amazon flock to arrive at their feeding grounds. Returning to the others they explain in detail the whole scene. After listen quietly, Cappy's anger grows to a frenzy of temper, "Today would be an eggcellent day to kick some poacher tail feathers." Cappy ruffles his feathers in anticipation and the look in his eyes would scare anybody.
Kaji grins,"Gotta say, Lizzie is so ready to torch those guys if you want her to. More than happy! She could do a slow roast, good fire power control." Lizzie smiles sweetly and puffs a small flame from her mouth to emphasize Kaji's point.
Ipo is more then ready for battle against the poachers. Ipo whips out her sword. "This is getting too much!!" She gets ready to fly when she feels Sophie's wing on her shoulder "this isn't your time, Ipo. We must await the other rescuers. Your turn will come soon. Now put that away." Jenny and Amando consult together with Sky, Cappy and Kaji, then standing on a rock JL clears her voice and begins to outline the plan for attack. "we will sneak up on them. The Special Forces will tend to the nets, cutting them down from the trees. Silver, you and Chuey are in charge of rope chewing, pick helpers and remove every rope you see. The rest of us will wait for the nets to drop and begin our attack. We are going to bite, scratch, chase, net, warm-up ( she grins at Lizzie) those poachers like they have never dreamed possible."
The birds cheer and high 4 one another, "Then we will return Armando to his flock safe and sound. We have to deal with these thieves first. This poaching happens everyday around the world. Innocent Parrots are stolen from nests, their flocks, many die, many suffer untold abuse and neglect just so people can get "cheap" Parrots. ENOUGH!" AMANDO YELLS.
Sky grabs BB's nest box and carries it under his wing as the BC Commando troops move into position. With the help of Elvis, Willie, Oz and Chyna they get the trap high in one of the trees.
"OK TROOPS Let's go get us some poachers" JL calls with determination as they move as one and begin their plot to stop their unsuspecting enemies.

  Hi Cousin Chuey
Amando here with today's Amazon Adventure update. We have located the flock of wild Blue-Fronted Zons who had been attacked by the same group of poachers earlier this year raiding countless nests for babies. The poachers have been secretly laying nets to trap Armando's flock at their daily feeding grounds just ahead of us. We must move with extreme caution and be on the ready from here on.
Capt. Finny, Chuey, Kallie and Pearl return to the group for a quick briefing. "Since spotting baby Armando's flock, the Green Angels and I have been flying from tree to tree trying to locate his Momma. At the same time we are warning all 38 blue-fronted Amazons of the danger lurking beneath them. We are warning them to stay as high in the tree canopy as possible since the poachers cannot get too high where the branches turn into twigs, and watch out for nets. We told them that we have an entire company of parrots coming to their aid and told them to stay hidden until they hear JL's command to attack. Then they can join in the fun of ripping those poachers to bits and wrapping them in the very nets they had intended for the birds. In the mean time we'll continue our search for his Momma. Only 11 more trees to go..." off they fly to continue their search.
Kiddo whispers to Susan and Polly, " Nothing makes me madder then poachers, and they are just lucky my mom isn't here.."
Kaji tells Amando his idea, "We gotta get to the flock before the poachers do. I still say Lizzie could torch the dirty jerks, no problem. I bet she would scare the living you know what out of those evil people." Amando laughs at the thought.
Sweetpepper plays with baby Armando, she tells Sugar and Dory" It's very sad that 17 babies died. We will give baby Armando back to his parronts and save them from those rotten poachers." Sugar smiles but the anger in her eyes tells it all.
Cori and Boo Boo sigh, we have an idea, "we say lets get rid of these poachers once and for all. ,hey are only doing it because they need money. lets show them something they can do that doesn't harm anything and makes them lots of money, turning their poo into bio fuel." Sky can't help but grin at that thought. Jenny-Lynn nods her head in agreement then suddenly raises her wing for the group to halt, making the "be quiet" sign at the same time. Leaning close to Amando's ear she says, "your plans for Armando's return is a good one, we certainly have the parrot power to succeed! I almost feel sorry for those poacher folks! Somebody will have to hold Cappy back, I think that dude can get violent, LOL!"
They watch Cappy sharpening his beak. Cappy speaks up," if there are 5 poachers then I suggest a two fold trap ... the net and also a deadfall ... a hidden box with a fake nest and bird to attract them poachers in and as soon as they reach for it ...baaam ... the box slams shut ... effectively trapping them and making them vulnerable to our attack. What do you think ."

  Hi Cousin Chuey
Hello Birdie Commandos, Amando here in the sunny Brazilian Rain Forest. We are on our way to intercept baby Armando's flock and reunite him with his Momma. We have been made aware of poacher activities in the clearing up ahead at a frequently used feeding grounds. As we begin our trek across the dense jungle of south America our goal is to stop the poachers and take a BIG bite out of the illegal Parrot trade once and for all. Amando, Jenny-Lynn and Sky move out ahead of the others using their machetes to cut through the vines and growth making a path for the others to follow. " Those paochers are gonna be sorry they messed with us!" JL comments with an angry Zon growl. Calling a halt, the group stops for a brief rest beside a cool stream.
Cappy quickly sharpens his beak and talons before the group heads off again. He wants to make sure he is able to rip and shred flesh easily. Dory and Dixie hang back with little Armando and Dixie quietly plays peek-a-boo with him to take his mind off what's going on. Rudy ... is looking for something to eat again. Finding some avi-cakes to munch on.
"We need to make a plan to catch them cold-handed, and teach them a lesson they won't forget." Jenny comments to the others.
"If we lay the net on the ground and cover it with leaves, maybe they'll get caught and tangled and trip over themselves !" Cookie exclaims determination on his face
"A note to the poachers; "I know who you are, and what you do I shall never forgive you for, ever, YOU BELONG TO ME! My name is Jenny Lynn, and this is the same jungle my mom and dad grew up in, you are dead meat, GAME ON! " She gets an angry look in her eyes as see thinks of all the birds who have lived and died at the hands of poachers, of the thousands, upon thousands who have been stolen away from their homes, families and flocks, of Paoo who was mutilated for the enjoyment of humans to see. THIS IS WAR. We must fight hard, and we must never given in." she yells loudly and is joined by the cheers of agreement from all the others.
Amando climbs up onto a fallen limb, " Our greatest challenge lies before us. Captain Finny and the Green Angels have been doing reconnaissance and have brought back confirmation that there are 5 poachers ahead to the south west. Also they have located the flock from which baby Armando was stolen. There are approximately 38 Blue-fronted Amazons living and nesting not four miles from here. It appears that the same group of thieves raided the nests of fourteen nesting pairs this year taking all but two youngsters from their homes. Three adults were severely injured while attempting to defend their nests from intruders. Very fortunately no adults were killed at that time, but the mortality rate among the stolen chicks was high, out of thirty-three chicks, seventeen died en-route to the village from chilling, dehydration and crowding. We believe baby Armando is one of the survivors of that nest raid."

  Hi Cousin Chuey
Hello fellow Amazon Adventurers, Amando here with a rather "fishy" situation. After scaring the Hippos away with a Cappy scream and landing safely down River, we soon made the discovery that that the Amazon is home to some pretty "fishy" characters. Red-bellied Piranhas.
Cappy shudders when he sees the bucket and the churning water ..." I think it best to stay away from that water ... Thank goodness those things can't come on shore ... just look at how fast they ate through the bucket ... Faster than I could have ... whew."
The others back away from the water as Jenny-Lynn eyes the chewed bucket, then leans over to look at the fish. "could I get one of those Piranhas with tartar sauce and lettuce, LOL! "
Just as the birds had settled for lunch Capt. Finny flew in at a swift speed, between breathes he related the outcome of the Green Angel's search of the area. "Kacey and Kallie sent Chuey to tell Chipper and I to get up the river fast! Pearl and Silver have been on the look-out with them to see what kind of suspicious activity is going on. We're getting pretty near where we could be spotting Armando's Momma and flock anytime now. So we wanted to be really careful. You're not going to believe this, but we saw more poachers! And this time they were really operating undercover, spreading nets. I think they may be after Armando's flock! You've got to get up here fast with JL and the gang, but be sure you keep little Armando out of sight. We've come so far and we're so close now, but this is going to be dangerous."
Amando looks at Jenny-Lynn and Sky, then at all his friends. He goes to Sugar and leans over to whisper into Armando's ear, " you're almost home little buddy. We're not going to stop now. Soon you will be back with your Momma" he kisses him softly on the head and sadly smiles at Sugar.
Turning to the others he says, " Finny and the Green Angels have found poachers ahead. Armando's flock is in danger. We are BC Commando Birds and we will not give-up, back-down or retreat. Who is with me?"
With one voice the cheer fills the Rainforest opening where the group stopped for lunch. "We will not be defeated. Together we shall win the war over poaching!" Amando's heart filled with hope and courage as he returned to Jenny-Lynn and Sky. Sitting on an old log, the three discuss with Finny the area ahead, the location of the poachers and make their plan of attack. Little Armando must be returned to his flock. Jenny looks at the drawing of the area and frowns. The nesting site for Armand's flock is close by. "I have no doubt that they are indeed after Armando's flock. " Jenny growls angrily, and glares off into the jungle growth.
"OK Birdie Commando's let's move out. It's war. This time it is no-holds-barred" Amando yells.
Sugar and Dory get Armando ready for the cross jungle trek. With Guards, Taz, Spot, Gus, Cori, Sweetpepper, Kiddo and Pookie in closed formation around Armando they begin to move out.

  Hi Cousin Chuey
Hello everybirdie. Amando here with today's Adventure update. After a frightful emergency with my fister Sweetie and her Pet Store toy, we are back on our trip to return Armando to his Momma and flock. With the Hippos awake things got pretty nasty for poor Cappy and his boat load of Amazon Adventurers. Hippos are not native to South America but were relocated here by someone then left to fend on their own when their owner was killed by authorities. The warmth, abundant water and plant life are perfect habitat for the displaced African natives. A large male awoke by the passing boat lets out a loud roar of annoyance that rouses the others from their afternoon rest. He runs forward, his strong legs moving easily across the river bottom. The others in his pod follow, heading towards the longboat.
Cappy sees the angry hippo coming and let's out a huge Cockatoo SCREAM, crest up, feathers fluffed. The male Hippo comes to a screeching stop and stares in wonder at the large white bird standing on the helm of the longboat. The others stop behind him, not certain what to do. The leader roars again and steps forward. Cappy screams again, this time he is joined by the other BC friends. The sound is deafening as it echos across the water. The Hippos having never seen or heard a Cockatoo before stare for a moment longer then turn on their heels and head back towards the distant shoreline. Cappy screams once more for a final warning, before smiling happily at his friends in the boat. "You just don't mess with a TOO!" he says, grabbing his oar. "OK, let's paddle out of here."
The other boats pass by undisturbed as the hippos keep a nervous watch from the banks. The group sails past Manaus, before BB calls to them to head for shore for lunch. Dixie and Little Angel were so comforted to be in the boat with Cappy as their guard,he sure did scare those hippos fast! They wouldn't want to mess around with that strong big beak.
BB opens her travel bag & gets out the portable kitchen. Out of the storage bins she gets corn on the cob, veggie Kabobs,Soy burgers and Spam hot dogs. Little Bits Best root beer is in the coolers along with Cream & Ginger Ale sodas.
"I am going to call in the supply shuttle for more food. Any birdie have a request for food??" she asks looking at Sky, " yes Pickles, I won't forget. Sky could you and Jesse go bring some water from the river please?"
Sky grabs two buckets as he and Jesse wander back down to the River where the others are playing a game of beach volleyball. Bending over, sky dips the bucket into the river and suddenly the water begins to turn and bubble. Startled Sky yanks the bucket out. "WHAT ???" he yells looking at it. The whole bottom was gone, eaten away. "Stay out of the water, Piranhas!"
Everybirdie stops dead and stares at the bucket, and the River.
"So many dangers to be wary of" Kaji sighs

  Hi Cousin Chuey
Hello Adventurers. As we draw close to Manuas, Brazil, we must be watchful for both human threats and the ever present threat from wildlife both on land and aquatic. Although the Hippo is an African animal, there are now over 50 individuals and counting living happily along the Amazon and other South American Rivers. In the late 1980s, Pablo Escobar kept four hippos in a private menagerie at his residence in Hacienda Nápoles, 100 km east of Medellín, Colombia, after buying them in New Orleans. They were deemed too difficult to seize and move after Escobar's fall, and hence left on the untended estate. By 2007, the animals had multiplied to 16 and had taken to roaming the area for food in the nearby Magdalena River. In 2009, two adults and one calf escaped the herd and, after attacking humans and killing cattle, one of the adults (called "Pepe") was killed by hunters under authorization of the local authorities. As of early 2014, 50 hippos have been reported to exist on the Amazon and it's tributaries.
With Mick Dundee departure after enjoying BB's lunch, the birds begin to wonder how they would get past the Hippos ahead in the River. Amando, Jenny-Lynn and Sky sit close, deep in discussion trying to figure out the safest way past the upcoming danger.
"I think we simply paddle by, staying as far away from them as we can. If we take one boat past at a time it shouldn't disturb them overly" Jenny-Lynn adds, worry on her face
"But if they do attack the boat and it is alone we might not be able to get there in time to help them." Sky adds
"I think we stay close together." Amando replies after some thought, " we paddle as little as we have to, let the river move us by"
"It might be best if we separate and place guards in each boat while passing the hippo pod." Jenny-Lynn directs
Sky and Amando agree, and set about moving guard birds into each boat. The nervous Adventures load their boats, and pushing off from shore, slowly paddle towards possible danger lurking the the River ahead. Finny and Chipper had reported back that the hippos were resting near the west bank of the river in shallow water. The birds move their boats towards the eastern shore, paddling carefully, ever watchful for danger. Rounding a sharp curve in the River near Manuas, JL in the lead boat with Sugar, Cookie, Raffi, Peepers, Laka, Strawberry and RT spots the first group of hippos. Resting submerged below the murky Amazon waters, just their heads exposed. Pointing she let's out a shrill whistle to inform the others that danger was ahead of them. JL directs her companions to stop paddling, and allows the boat to move slowly along pulled by the current of the water. Sky and Kaji's boats pass by the hippos without incident. Next boat to pass is LA and Dixie's group, guarded by Cappy. As Cappy instructs his friends to stop paddling, one huge male Hippo opens his mouth and lets out an angry roar. His sudden call rouses the others in the pod.

  Hi Cousin Chuey
Hello fellow Amazon Adventurers. I was sure glad to see that Ms BB had welcomed her pal to join us for a part of our trip up the River. She musta known we were going to run into some nasty company along the way. Nothing worse then Crocs or gators for rocking the boat so to speak. Thankfully we had warning from Finny and the Green Angels. With BB's shuttle always on the ready she was able to have her friend Mick from Australia join us . He has a nickname of Crocodile Dundee. Mick stepped up on the bow of the long boat so the crocs could see him better. When they did they all headed for the bottom of the river & stayed there. They didn't want to be made into boots, belts, hats or luggage!!! I sorta feel sorry for them after Cappy and Little Angel got done with them.
"OK, enough with the green gator guys, Ok Crocs. Let me at' em. I'll show them a thing or five. I'll bite their noses, sparkle their tails and then......"Li
"il Angel yells at the crocs as they swim around the boats. "Oh you don't wanta wake the baby.
Too late....LOOK OUT CROC HERE I COMEEEEEEEEEEE." Little Angel grabs an oar and whacks the croc on the nose hard making tears come to his eyes.
Little Angel" Sky yells, "Stop hurting the Crocs, you're making them cry. OH no not that." He watches as she grabs one by the tail and bites down as hard as she can, "and trust me that's hard."
"Little Angel, I thought I told you be good?" Amando looks at her and can't help but grin as he watches the neon sparkled crocs swimming away in shame, that a little girl bird beat them up.
Everybirdie laughs as the crocs disappear. Then little Angel turns to see Mick standing on Ms BB's boat. She grins sheepishly and giggles. "Way ta go mate" Mick calls to her making LA happy.
"Whew! That was a close one! Thankfully, LA, Cappy and Ms. BB took care of those nasty crocs! Good grief! What will we encounter next?? Oh, Green Angels just informed me that there are some hippos up the river. Just what we need! Do be careful. Hippos are even more dangerous than crocs. We have to find baby Armando's Momma and get him home before anything else happens. I'm off to check on the hippo situation and really search for Armando's Momma. " Finny waves his good-bye as he heads off up-river to re-join the Green Angels as they gather information about the hippos.
Heading into shore, tie off their boats and relax. Its lunch time so Ms BB sets up her portable kitchen." How about deep fried gator bites, corn dogs and deep fried pickles?
I have been told by Mr Mick Dundee the gator bites taste like chicken. " Picabo makes a face at the thought of Gator bites. Boo Boo yells, " Bring'em on!"
"Then we can sneak past those Hippos and continue our hunt for the baby"s Mom & Dad."
As BB and the girls cook lunch, the boys bring out some maps and check for possible nesting sites ahead. As they look over the map Willie points to a treed area, "LOOK! A nesting area of Amazon species"

  Hi Cousin Chuey
Good morning Amazon Adventurers time to rise and shine! Amando calls out happily as he wakes his sleeping friends. " It's once more time to load our long-boats and move further in-land on our search for baby Armando's Momma and flock." The sleepy eyed BC Adventurers yawn and climb off their sleeping perches, waking to the smells of Ms BB's fresh brewed coffee and the warmth of the Brazilian sun falling softly on their faces. Eating a quick breakfast the travelers ready their boats, pushing off from shore, determined to make Santarem by late afternoon.
Santarém (Portuguese pronunciation: [s?~ta'??j]) is a municipality in the state of Pará in Brazil. The Tapajós joins the Amazon River there, and it is a popular location for tourism. It is the second most important city in the state and the financial and economic center of the western part of the state. It was once home to the Tapajós Indians, a tribe of Native Americans after which the river was named, It is located some 800 km (500 mi) from both the largest cities in the Amazon, Manaus, and the state capital Belém. It has a population of 300,000.
Pushing out into the Amazon River, the group paddles through the early morning without incident. Suddenly Finny and the Green Angels arrive, landing on the helms of the boats. "Amando,
just wanted to warn you guys to be careful up ahead. There are some crocs sunning themselves up the river. You never know if they'll take off after a boat or not, so be on the lookout and be very careful with little Armando." With that they were off again, scouting ahead for danger and Armando's Momma.
"I THINK BABY ARMANDO RECOGNIZES THE SOUNDS HE IS HEARING. OH I DO HOPE WE FIND HIS MOMMA AND HE KNOWS HER VOICE." Kacey and Sweetpepper say as they cuddle the baby close, keeping him safe. Armando chirps happily, straining his neck to see everything as the boats slip effortlessly through the murky waters.
"We are all so excited to be on this journey to find baby Armando's parronts. And to destroy all the poachers along the way who have done all this damage to our native habitat!" Dixie tells L'il Angel, an angry look in his dark eyes.
The boats turn the bend in the river, and there, laying on both banks are dozens of crocs and gators, basking in the mid-day sun. As the boats move forward, the paddles ripping swiftly through the water, black eyes open and disappear beneath the water at the edge of the river. Suddenly Falco lets out a terrified scream, grabbing onto Jesse. Their boat vibrates as the croc comes up from underneath, hitting the boat from below. Hulk and Willie hold tightly to their oars as the croc swims around the sides of the boat, then disappears under the water. " HELP!" Boo Boo yells as the croc hits the boat on the side, tipping it over, and causing it to take on water.
BB and Sky turn their long-boat quickly, with Kaji and JL paddling as hard as they can, Cappy holds his oar up, hoping to get a swing at the angry reptile.

  Hi Cousin Chuey
Hello everybirdie, I am sorry for missing Sunday but we were Squawked right off of BC from dawn to dusk. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and are ready to continue our trek down the Amazon River to find baby Armando's parents. Some have commented that they are unable to make a picture of themselves on our Adventure. Picture or not you are all a necessary active part of this trip and we couldn't do it without your help. Thanks for your daily support and tot hose who leave comments we are able to write into our daily posts.
"We're off in search of Armando's Momma" Amando calls out as the long-boats push off from shore. The eggcitement of the day and the upcoming adventure slips away as the boats cut smoothly through the water. Native birds fly over head shouting their greetings as the group of Adventures paddle down the river in search of Armando's flock.
Jenny, always on the vigil, oversees Sky & Amando's plan of returning baby Armando! She will not allow this venture to go South, "there will not be any days like that! This is not a vacation, THIS IS SERIOUS CRAP! " Jen is learning to understand the Napanee flock, and just like her, they are as serious as a heart attack, Jen loves the real things in life! This adventure will not fail!
The birds joke and laugh as they paddle enjoying the scenery slipping by on the shoreline. A Jaguar leans over to get a closer look at the passing Birds. BonBon and Parker fly over to speak to him. " Do you know of a flock of Amazons that have a baby that was stolen from them? We found him, but don't know where to find his Momma."
"He is likely from further inland. Poachers were raiding nests in there a few weeks ago, stealing countless babies from nests, cutting down their nesting trees if necessary. I have seen many dead babies lying discarded along the trails, tossed away like garbage, all in the name in profit" The angry Jaguar roars his displeasure. " Once the nest trees are destroyed there are no places for future nests or chicks to live."
Susan shivers as her boat passes by a submerged tree, where a large snake lies sunning herself along the edge of the water. The snake watches as the birds pass by, watchful least they bring danger to her homeland.
Finnegan and the Green Angels swoop in and land on the helm of the boat where Amando, JL, Cappy, Sky and Kaji navigate the River. "It looks like the coast is clear for now, but the Green Angels and I will be keeping a keen lookout for trouble. This route along the Amazon is really beautiful, at least the birds'eye view of it is." with that they fly off to scout of the river ahead.
Baby Armando wakes up chirping happily as he hears the calls of his native land. " I think he knows where he is now" Dory says to Chyna, Falco and Sugar, "Look" the baby flaps his tiny wings happily.

  Hi Cousin Chuey
Hello everybirdie. Amando here with today's Amazon Adventure Update. I want each of you to know how proud I am of you, and how hard you fought against the poachers who were stealing the wild Parrots. Many species of birds and Parrots are extinct or on the brink of extinction. The two of the leading causes being destruction of habitat and unchecked poaching. With the criminals behind bars we are off to the shuttle and the trip down the Amazon to find baby Armando's parents.
Finnegan swoops in, "Hey Amando and team.....that was GRRRRRRRRREAT! We did it! Everyone did a fantastic job nailing those poachers. Now my Green Angels and I have to get busy scouting out the route and helping to look for little Armando's mama and flock. You know there could be many more poachers on our route. There are lots of them out there. So we're still going to have to be VERY careful. My Green Angels have excellent eyesight are the best team you could wish for. We're off." with that the Green Angels head up into the blue skies towards Macapa', and the beginning of our trip.
Kiddo comes to Amando, JL and Sky, " I think those guys are so glad to be in custody. Obviously jail was preferable to the wrath of the beak!" The birds erupt into fits of laughter at that, as they recall the looks of relief when the authorities showed up.
The BC Commando Birdies head back to the shuttles waiting int he clearing. Everything is loaded and ready. Baby Armando is fast asleep in Dory's wings. Cori tip-talons over to see him, smiling at his quiet form, sound asleep oblivious to all that has taken place. Dory hands the tiny parrot to Cori who kisses his little pin-feathered head. He opens one eye long enough to see who has him before falling back to sleep. Everybirdie is glad to sit down in the shuttle, after the awesome fight they just completed. Eggcitedly they relay the events to Paoo who smiles." There are more, many more out there. As long as people buy them, Parrots will be stolen from their homes."
The Shuttles lift off effortlessly and in a flash are landing outside of the City of Macapa'. The birdies climb out cautiously, keeping their eyes open for danger. Finny and his Green Angels fly by relaying the all clear message. Sky and Amando head tot he river to find their guide Jose' who will escort the group down the Amazon in search of the flock that Armando belongs to. A dozen long-boats sit moored at the waters edge. Jose' looks up as he hears Amando heading towards him. "I have already heard word of the fight your group won against the poachers at Belem. Word travels fast through the Rain Forest." The tall Macaw grins widely and offers a wing in friendship.
"Let's get the gear loaded and get moving. We have a long trip ahead of us." Sky exclaims
"Es, and many dangers also" Jose' replies with a knowing look.
"OKAY, all is ready" Amando calls loudly, as the three birds return together to the shuttles. "We're off in search of Armando's Momma"

  Hi Cousin Chuey
Hi Commando Birdies, Amando here to update you on progress in the Amazon Adventure. Having encountered poachers in our vicinity we took it upon ourselves to take matters under our own wing before heading deeper into the Amazon to return baby Armando to his Momma.
"Bombs away!" Amando screams as the birds take perfect aim and Poop all over the frightened poachers.
Cappy stares down that ring leader, his eyes pinned and crest straight up. I am coming for you and I require a blood draw. He laughs loudly making the man cringe under the weight of the net.
Dixie and Little Angel have joined in the battle and rip up as much flesh off these poachers as they can get,and as Little Angel clamps her beak down even harder on the one poachers nose, he writhes in agony on the jungle floor. Dixie makes a play for his ear and bites down with the sharp point that his Mom had dremmeled for him to bite into his food easily, making the poacher's cries of pain reverberate throughout the jungle!
Finnegan lands by Amando and Jenny-Lynn, "Wow! That was a great attack, Amando! Let's get the big guy and keep it up until they all have to CRAWL out of the jungle. Then they'll never come back...I hope."
" I think we better escort these criminals back to Belem and make sure they turn themselves over to the authorities." Sky exclaims, watching in delight as the seven men begin to whimper and cry as bird after bird poops on them then flies off to return again. JL stands so close to the netted Leader that he can feel her breath on his face. Mikey D caught up in the action yells to her, "GO FOR THE EYES... THEY CAN'T HIT ...WHAT THEY CAN'T SEE."
"OK, get to your knees slowly" Amando orders the seven criminals," get crawling" they move obediently, " NOW MOVE IT" The six poachers crawl towards their leader, they help remove the net from him, as they keep careful watch on the angry birds. Jenny Lynn bites the smallest guy hard when he attempts to stand up. " I said your knees" Amando yells loudly.
The men crawl through the jungle, moaning in pain from the multitude of cuts and bites they have earned. The birds continue to swoop and dive at them the whole trip. They crawl the many miles back to Belem. Once there Sky and Finny head off to locate wildlife enforcement officers. Getting their attention by screaming, they bring them to where the poachers are being detained by the BC Birdie Commandos at the edge of the city.
"PLEASE, PLEASE arrest us, PLEASE." The poachers plead, "we have broken the law and have been poaching wild Parrots for many years" tears falling from their eyes, "PLEASE save us from these BIRDS!"
The Officers grin as they look at the bloodied, poop covered men cowering under the watchful glare of the BC Birds.
