I saw Banjo at a bird fair and contrary to every advice I've ever given anyone about buying birds, I couldn't resist him. He was in my home two days later. He isn't hand trained but is learning and will now sometimes sit on my arm and ride around a bit with me. But he really wants to go to my shoulder and so far it's a battle to keep him from it. But I don't want Banjo's lovely little beak too close to my face or ears!.

Active within 2150 Days Hi! My name is Banjo I am an Amazon from Winneconne, WI. Silly bird 22 years old M Amazon Apples are a hit. On top of his cage for now. I saw my first cat last week and oh my, I don't like CATS, at least not yet. Mommy's also trying to get me to say "pieces of eight" and "walk the plank". If she wants a pirate bird, she better get me a big BOAT! My mommy gives me APPLES! Yummy! She's also trying to convert me over to a pelleted parrot food but I say YUCK to that and give me my veggies and apples! I get upset when mommy changes clothes in front of my cage. I will climb around my cage yelling "Oh my god, oh my god oh my god...". I'm a big beautiful bird who loves my APPLES!.

hi Banjo Gee!! we got alot in common here......Im a yellow nap amazon and I'm 15 years old.......I love my moms shoulder too......when she first brought me home she used to let me sit there, until.....my dad (who I just tolerate) came home, I guess he scared me and I gave her a bite......I also like to peck at her head when I get scared...she told me....Hotshot!!! that just wont do.....so although I do try to climb.....guess mom is winning....I dont have a cat, but I have a dog, hes a siberian husky and he howls at me......I laugh at him and scream back at him, mom says we both drive her nuts........you have more yellow around your face but other than that we kinda look alike.....I like apples too...grapes too...actually....I like all food, I yell at mom while shes cooking everynight....she calls me ...her junk food bird....Pizza is the best.....at dinner time, mom pulls my cage close to the table and opens my door...I just sit there and mom feeds me......I have to eat whatever they are eating or I'm just not happy.......well say "hi" sometimes and let me know how your doing...and nice meeting you.... hotshot n mom Come visit me, Hotshot.	05/25/2007 12:11.02 PM	Report This Comment

Hello Welcome. I hope you enjoy the channel as much as I do. I'm an amazon too. I dont like cats either. We have some stray ones around the house and they sometimes come near my window. I squawk really loud at them and that scares them away sometimes. Other times though mom has to shoo them away. I think the dogs would do a much better job then mom does but she won't allow it. I wonder why. I see you like apples. My mom gives me apples sometimes but I haven't really tried them. I prefer grapes or watermelon when it comes to fruit. It was nice meeting you.
