YOU watch out! Mom tells me some baby sparrows watched the woodpeckers at the suet and figured out it was food. Now, several generations later, it is the preferred food for the flock. Don't let Remy see what YOUR favorites are.
The computer seems to be working better, but mom still has some issues. Will have to get skinbro to look at what is happening.

Oh yes I have the wing slap down good. Cause when you have other fiblings in the clutch you have to learn to wing slap to make sure you get your share of feeding. I knew it before I came to live with mom how to push and wing slap my way to food.
HELLO IT'S ME SHADOW AND MY TYPEST MOM FINALLY. DAD AND BROTHERS ARE STILL SLEEPING I SAY THEY LAZY. WE ARE UNDER A SEVER WEATHER WATCH ALL DAY LONG AND INTO THE NIGHT. THEY ARE SAYING DAMAGING WINDS HAIL AND A POSSIBLE TORNADOS . SO MOM GETTING EVERYTHING READY JUST IN CASE WE HAVE TO GO TAKE COVER.. WE WILL BE KEEPING OUR EYES TO THE SKY , TUNED TO THE WEATHER. WE HAVE A WEATHER ALERT RADIO I DONT LIKE IT WHEN IT GOES OFF ITS SCARY AND LOUD.BUT THE SIRENS OUTSIDE ARE MORE SCARIER WE ARE GETTING SO EXCITED CAUSE MOM GOT ONLY 3 DAYS LEFT OF WORK THEN SHE ALL OURS WOOT WOOT . SO WE TALKING TO THE NEIGHBORS IT WAS FUN SEEING EVERYONE AGAIN AND CATCHING UP ON THINGS. WE BEEN SPENDING LOTS OF TIME OUTSIDE WITH THE FAMILY ENJOYING THE SUN AND FRESH AIR.
COCO IS FINALLY WEANED OFF THE BABY BIRD FORMULA SHE THE CINNAMON BABY TIEL. BUT I STILL ON ONE HANd FEEDING A DAY I BEEN EATING A LITTLE SEED PELKET MIX TO THIS MORNING I ATE SCRAMBLED EGGS YUM.. ON MAY 16 to MOM AND YOUNGER BROTHER TOOK ME FOR A WALK AROUNF THE NEIGHBORHOOD . BOY IT WAS SO MUCH FUN AND LOTS OF THING TOBSEE. I DID NOT LIJE THE CARS. THAT PLAYED LOUD MUSIC THOUGH. EVEN A POLICE OFFICER WAS DRIVING BY AND STOP TO SAY HI AND GIVE ME A SCRITCHIE HE SAID I WAS SO CUTE. THAT HE HAD 2 COCKATIEL AND A BIG DOG AT HOME.. HE , BROTHER AND MOM TALJ A LITTLE BIT LONGER THEN WE SAUD GOID BY AND FINISHED OUR WALK.

Hi Athena & family
How are u sweetie? Nothing much happened here today, except mom stayed home all day! We had a beautiful day of 78! I spent a lot of time outside today, but didn't get to drive my car, coz I don't really like to be out in the direct sun! Mom swears that I can smell when rain is coming, coz when it got real cloudy & looked like it would rain, I started freaking out & wouldn't let her take me off the porch! I ran up her arm & scrambled onto her back & told her NOOOOO, I hold on to mom's shirt, pant, & gently flap my wings, while on her back...mom calls it my rain dance I wouldn't get off her back & onto her hand until she went back inside! Mom calls Mom told me it was not raining, but I wasn't taking her word about it! I DO NOT like OUTSIDE shower baths!

My daddy's checkup went pretty well, but had to have his meds readjusted, his BP was to high making him dizzy when he stands up! He must go back in three weeks for a quick re-check of things! He was really bummed for having to miss the baseball game, and it looked like good one! Congrats to Screech for joining the 10K Club! Dad has a QCPS bird club meeting this afternoon and evening, poor Arthur is going to get a nails and beak job, and I am taking bets on how much blood will be spilled, LOL! Our weekend is a mixed bag; mom is doing tours today and tomorrow, but it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours. Today the dogs go to the groomer, but when mom drops them off, I think she is planning on taking us all outside! YAY!! It's so pretty here, with all the flowers in bloom. The irises have started to blossom, too. Tonight, mom and her family are celebrating Mother's Day. They always wait to do that, so they aren't in crowded restaurants and being hustled to eat fast. Tomorrow, tours are in the afternoon, so again, we might get outside. I think that's all for this weekend. I hope you are having a fun weekend, and get a chance to enjoy some fantastic weather where you are, as well. DAY 17 ~ THANKS FOR THE VOTE!
DANIA'S LIFE part 9
After leaving Montreal to go home, I started researching on the Internet about lovebirds. When I was done, I decided to buy a lovebird. My dad told me I could buy one from kijiji. So the type of lovebird I chose was fischers lovebird. I looked all over kijiji but none of them lived closer to my area. So I decided to pick another type of lovebirds. The next one I chose was the peach-faced lovebird then I did research. I went one kijiji and found a bird breeder who was breeding lovebirds and budgies. She had 2 lovebirds that we're coupled, the green one was 5 months and the yellow one was 4 months. I somehow got dad to get me two birds instead of one. So we contacted the lady and went to her house. It was long trip to me to get to neapean. When we got there, the house had noisy chirping birds. The lady was handfeeding a lovebird! It was so cute and adorable. She showed me around then she showed me the two lovebirds. I brought the cage with me to the two birds inside. The lady asked "What are you going to name your new birds?" Since the green one was a boy and he reminded me of super Mario, I named him Luigi. The yellow one who was a girl, I named her Angel, because she was yellow with white flight and rump feathers so it reminded me of the sun. Pleased to meet you--and I must say you are a stunning gal! I am a Meyer's Parrot, and I am more like Kiddo, as I belong to the same family. Now Pionus are really awesome birds--from what Mom says, they are quieter than most. But unfortunately, Mom doesn't know too much about them other than that. She looked on the BC Parrot species, and they said that they are independent birds, not terribly prone to cuddling or things like that. Now, I can't imagine not wanted to be cuddled, but I guess some birdies don't like a lot of that. I think it might be a general statement, and maybe not apply to every bird. Did you try to contact any of the birdies who might be on the BC? I bet that might help to find out more on the birdies right from the beak, so to say!

Oh can imagine how your mom must feel with skin sis and family moving so far away too! Nice they have visits at least set up and give your mom and dad a chance to travel too. Oh we know how summer is here with us too and on the whim the parronts go or do something and we dont get to blog either...sure not like in the winter when mom is more home bound LOL. Today mom said some body was coming here to visit so we had to be in our condos. When the lady came she looked in at me but I was being good and was in my happy hut. She thought it was funny I liked to be in it and couldn’t even see me for a while till mom pointed me out. Apparently she wasn’t much of a fid person and didn’t know much about us at all other then the wild ones she saw outside. “Friendship, like flowers, blooms ever more fair, when carefully tended by dear friends who care.” V4U my friend, Chi chi.Come visit me, Gus & Chi chi ..

Ohh, the Pionus are so cute! Good luck with everything.
My mom's friend lives about 10-15 minutes from Phoenix, so I imagine they have good healthcare. Mom's girlfriend has some of the same health issues as my mommy. They have endometriosis REALLY bad. I don't know if you know what that is. Mom tells us but we don't get it. We just know she does not like when we jump on her belly after she's had surgery! LOL My mom is 38 but people tell her she looks like she's 20 and she hates that because she feels like people don't respect her as much. But she knows she'll appreciate it some day. Mom's parents look young too. Grandpa gets hit on all the time by girls younger than my mom! It's pretty funny!
So her community is smaller but it's close to the the bigger city of Phoenix. Mom went to the tourism site and got a few free brochures about the state and the different communities and she bought a book on Amazon. Mom hates the cold weather. I hate having the windows closed and so does Kahlua. We love the breeze and the sound of the birds. And Arizona is supposed to be better for seasonal allergies than here in the Hudson Valley.
But anyway, Mom's friend found a great doctor there and the doctors that treat this condition are hard to find. Of course, it depends on the types of doctors you need, but I would imagine Phoenix has some good ones, especially since they are really growing in terms of their retirement communities. Not that you'd have to live in one, but just that since there are lots of them there, there are probably lots of doctors for you guys.
Mom is with you in terms of gated communities. I want my own home and I don't want to be told I have to plant one tree in one spot and paint my door this color ...
And yes -- a positive economic outlook is critical!
It's a bit chilly today here. We were hoping for 80's but oh well! Time to do some work. Enjoy your day! :-)

V4U today. The parrot rescue group that you will be adopting a bird from sounds like it's a really good one. Yes, I sure do know what you mean. That was a close game, too bad we couldn't pull off the win! Congrats to the Wonder Wings for a well played game, though. Mom has 2 tours today, but they're widely separated, one at 11:20 and the next at 1:40. That means she won't get home til after 3:15, so we may be late for the game today. I hope we can get outside for awhile, though, because it's gorgeous out there, and mom still has some flowers to plant. She put in a painted fern a couple of days ago. She bought it because she thought one died. When she went to plant this one, the other one was up and thriving! So now we have 2, which is okay with us. DAY 16 ~ THANKS FOR THE VOTE!
DANIA’S LIFE part 8
Before I ever got Luigi and Angel as my pets, I used to beg every single day for a pet. Ever since I was 4, I would wine and cry for a pet. The answer I got was a no, as always. Growing up, whenever I found out one of my classmates has a pet, I would go to my parents and use it as an excuse to get a pet. Then when I was around 13, I got very jealous when I found out my uncle got a hamster for his son and daughter and my neighbor friend got a canary. Well that made my beg and cry like crazy. So after begging for 12 years, my mom got fed up of me never giving up on this topic. So she discussed with dad and she asked me, what pet do you want? Well my options were short; I wasn’t allowed to get a dog, for obvious reasons in my religion. A cat will make my parents sneeze. A reptile was out of the question, and then I remembered how I loved playing with my grandma’s budgie. I decided I wanted to get a bird. Ok, the type of pet was decided, now the type of species was the argument. I told my parents I wanted a how bird that can talk and I could cuddle with. I asked to get a big bird, then no was the answer. First of all, theres no room in my house, second, I can’t put the bird outside since it’s freezing in Canada. So my parents told me you can get a big bird in Lebanon where it’s nice and warm. Ok, so the bird was going to be smaller, but I didn’t care because I wanted a pet really badly because I wanted to hold it and play with it. So when we went to montreal one time, there was a pet store in one of the big shopping malls. I went to see it and there was a whole bunch of small and medium birds. I saw canaries up high up on the cages. And fischers lovebird, cockatiels, it was a wonderland. At first I wanted the cockatiels, but mom thought they were noisy since they were screaming when I approached them. Then I saw the doves and I thought they were lovebirds. I told my mom I wanted the doves, she said no because they are harder to take care of. My mom pointed to the real lovebirds, they were so small, but then I thought about it. and Remy and sweet awesome Mom Melanie!I was sooo happy to see you there and cheering for me too! Mom had to leave in the middle of it because the fid sitter showed up and that took nearly two hours for Mom to get her through all our things and my cousins things and then she said she'd give me my meds in my bean mix so my Mom made that up and put it in a pyrex dish with a cover so she could just take it out of the fridge everyday and she's going to give me my cherry juice too! Dixie runs into Athena and Mackie's warm big girl wings and he makes sure that little Remy gets to wrap his wings around him too! He is sooo comforted with all the prayers for his healing and freedom from pain and he's sooo comforted for the prayers for his family to have a safe trip!
Mom Rose is sooo thankful and blessed to have Mom Melanie in her life and as her friend! She will always be there for mom Melanie and can't tell in words just what Mom Melanie means to her!
We all love you sooo much,if only words can say! Dixie is sooo comforted knowing that Athena,Mackie and Remy and Mom Melanie will be there everyday! He feels sooo much better knowing he won't be alone all week missing them sooo badly! Mom Rose sends more thank yous for the safe travels! We all just love you sooo much and will miss you terribly! Yes its good we are back on track. Mom thought when she saw Mackies blog to Gus that you probably wrote to me late since mom does my blogs then does Gus and then forgot about it till the next night or so Mackie wrote again to Gus and mom thought the same thing again so sure glad we are back on track...I sure missed you too Athena!! Wow that is sad the grands are going to Indonesia and you wont see them for a while. How long will they go and why there? We have a skin sis in the state of Washington and 3 grands there so we dont see them often either. In fact the grands mom and dad only see when they visit cause they are all older and have jobs or school or college. Last night after the concert the grands friends wanted to all meet at the ice cream shop so they did. Mom sure was glad they did too cause you put what kind of yogurt you wanted in the bowl and then added different kinds of toppings to it. Finally you put it on the scale and paid so much an ounce for it but it sure was worth it mom said..hmmpppt didn’t bring us none home though! How's it goin' with you? Keepin' that pretty beak of yours busy enough these days? I've been out of my wood-chunkin' routine now for a couple of weeks. Shucks, I haven't even been shredding my t-shirt collection. Lately it's been Quest for the Closet which I think is a game my mom's growing tired of. She keeps havin' to haul me (sometimes by my tail! — oh the indignity of that!. The other day I finally figured out that if I turned just so once in the closet, my tail stopped sticking out and giving my where about away. That's how I managed t'get myself shut in the closet for probably some 15 mins. I don't know how long it was, I couldn't see my watch — it was DARK in there. But you can bet I was one happy macaw, all smashed in this tight cozy place in the back section of the closet in my bird room. The big plastic toy storage box that sits in there has just enough room on top for me to wedge myself in there and pretend I'm in a rainforest tree stump or somethin'.

We had an awesome time at the KB didn't we?Our little frothers and Cookie had everybirdie on alert.They got into so much mischief.The birdies call them the four terrors heehee.Thats cute...Hey girl Im starting a mixed breed all girl basket ballteam after the BC football season.I would love to have you and Mackie play.We are schedualing it so it wont collide with the other sports on BC...Lets show the boys what us girls can do !!!

Hey Athena and Mackenzie!
Sorry I've been gone so long! Mom had a busy week and just didn't get to blogging for me. Everybody is fine from the accident. The car is going to be coming out of repairs soon, so they will have their car back. They had to take the red car back because it was leaking oil so now they have a different white Honda. Dad likes it better.
Squirrels are cute little annoying things! Stealing seed from mom's bird feeders. The DOG goes crazy every time she sees one. What is it with dogs and squirrels?
Guess what??? TOMORROW'S MY HATCHDAY!!!! I'll be one! Mom doesn't know exactly when my Hatchday is, but a little while ago she called the pet store and asked if they knew how old I was. The Pet Store contacted the breeder and the breeder said I was around 7 months old and so mommy estimated my Hatchday and decide on May 17. Anyway, hope you have a great day! Fly by soon,

Today it's warm and sunny, and mom has to go to the museum for a tour. She still has some things to plant, so hopefully the sun and warm will last until she gets home. The CJCs play their first game today, so be at the stadium for a chance to get the prize inside! You know how CrackerJack always had a neat prize? Well, the conures will have them at some of the games this year as well. We're not saying what today's prize is, just show up at the stadium for a chance to begin collecting them all. DAY 15 ~ THANKS FOR THE VOTE!
When I was young, I used to visit my grandma every Friday. I would love visiting her and seeing my uncles. Usually during my visits, I used to play on the playstation 2 with my brother and my youngest uncle. In addition, I always played with my grandma’s budgie, it was american parakeet and it was blue. Since the bird didn’t have name, the only name I called it was the bird or birdie. I played with birdie every time we visited. Birdie wasn’t tame so I had many incidences were I would take out the birdie and it would start flying every where. Everyone laughed, and my dad usually had to catch the bird. But I found that birdie liked to play on my shoulder, so I had birdie on there. I used to think birdie was a boy, but it was actually a girl. My grandma liked it when I fooled around trying to get to play with birdie. She was happy that I was getting to know birdie. She loved the sound that birdie made everyday. Then my uncle to decided to place the cage on higher grounds since I always took birdie out and she would fly every where. Unfortunately, when I was 9, I came to visit my grandma and the cage wasn’t there, I asked “Where’s the bird?”. She told me, she saw birdie lie on the bottom of the cage, her time was up. My grandma was sad of her loss, it was hard for her. She missed the beautiful chirps in the morning, she really loved that bird. Birdie lived for more than 12 years. She was old and it surprised me about how active she was when I took her out. I was saddened too that birdie was gone. Thanks for liking my new pic. I love your profile pic too. I think it's sad that we are the only team with no uniforms/pic. I'm not even going to ask anymore. Thanks, I just might ask for an email copy. Mom went to the B-ball stadium page and got a copy of that schedule. She was going to put it on a calendar page when she has time. Thank you.
Today was warm and sunny. I was able to get outside for a little stroller time (see pics below). Mom and I sat on the patio and feed the blue jays and chipmunks. I talked to them but, they just stared at me. They say that we will have nice weather thru Sunday, hope they are right!

Hi Athena & family
How are u sweetie? Mom is in the doghouse today because of a SERIOUS infraction! Mom had a sleepover at sissy's house last night, coz she watched her granddaughter coz sissy had to take mom's youngest grandson to Children's Hospital for an appt...poor little guy, he is 6 years old & has Celiac's Disease! Mom was going to bring Livi home with her to uncover me, but sis called & said she was almost home, to just wait then she would take Livi to preschool & mom could head home. WELLLL, she threw a fit coz she wanted her Grammy to take her to school! Of course mom caved & took her to school, but now mom didn't have time to run home to uncover me & make it back to sissy's to go & watch oldest grandson's 3rd grade program. WELLLLL, mom didn't get home til 2:30pm! Mom was upset & was afraid that I'd be very angry with her! As soon as she uncovered me, I said HI MOM, immediately gave her kisses, then looked her in the eye & called her a SILLY BIRD! I LOVE guilt trips! Parronts are such suckers when it comes to guilt trips! Hehehe! I will be firmly planted on mom's arm til I DECIDE I want to go to bed! I won't let her out of my sight tomorrow either...THEN maybe I'll let her off the hook! It's actually a lot of fun watching her type with one hand & me on the other, trying in eat the phone as she's typing! Hehehe...I LOVE paybacks!
It is VERY humid during spring & summer here in PA! The higher the temps, the more severe & violent the thunderstorms! When I first came to live with mom 16 yrs ago, I was frightened & apprehensive of many things...especially thunder! If there was loud thunder during the night, I would scream, fall out of my bed (I sleep in a large
acrylic ring) & flap around wildly, often breaking feathers! Mom started making up games for things that I was afraid of! Since I was sooooo afraid of thunder, she would make wild arm gestures, laugh, squeal, & say BOOM! In no time at all, I began to look forward to things that had previously terrified me! So now when it thunders, I laugh, squeal & say BOOM...& the louder the thunder, the more fun I have!

Sometimes dad forgets. He tries to answer each blog but he falls asleep with the computer on his lap.
Today was only 79 degrees. The day before yesterday it was 97. Same numbers but in the wrong order.

Oh yea wondered what happened to you and kept wanting mom to write and then we would get side tracked and forget. Sure glad you wrote and now we are back on schedule again so that is good!! The one grand is in choir and band too. Skin sis has been taking her early in the morning two days a week since February to practice at the middle school for band and choir. and Remy and sweet awesome Mom Melanie! Dixie is sooo eggcited to be wrapped in Athena and Mackie's warm wing hugs but even more thrilled with getting Remy's hugs as well! He's such a tiny little thing and he's such a great hugger for being so small!Dixie is so grateful for all the prayers that the three of them are sending his way for healing,freedom from pain and for peace and comfort! If only they all knew how much they mean to him and how their prayers are making him feel,so much better! Oh how can I ever thank you for wanting to come by to check on me! I would love that more than ever! I will be sorely missing you and my Mom will be sorely missing you while they are away!

It was cold here for 2 days, with frost warnings at night, but today it's 82 degrees! Mom is hoping to plant those things she got last Friday, at last! I want to go to the game though, there are 2 good teams playing today.
This morning mom did a repeat of Monday, complete with raccoons painting themselves and their cages with food. The red tailed hawk stood between mom and its meal leftovers this morning, which she has never seen in all her years there. At noon she went to the museum to hear an assistant curator of vertebrate paleontology, Matt LaManna, talk about early birds from the Cretaceous, and learned a whole lot about our origins. It seems modern bird lines arose in Antarctica! It makes sense, the birds there were already used to harsh conditions and extended periods of dark. Anyway, it was a pretty cool lecture, and the docents might get a cast out of it! Mom asked Matt if they could have a cast of gansus for the dinosaur hall, and he said send him an email and he'd get one made!

Wow! That's awesome. Good luck with the adoption. Do you have any idea of the type of bird mom might like to adopt? I know mom didn't get to meet any yet, but does she have any ideas or is she just going to see which one she bonds with?
Mom's so glad that they make people go through all those steps. She can't stand to hear stories of people that think birds are pretty and buy one because of that and because they like the idea of a talking pet. They don't realize that they need the attention of a kid, can be as expensive as kids, and can live a long time! And they are not meant to sit in cages all die. Mom gets sick to her stomach when she hears some stories.
Some day, mom wants to open her own sanctuary. We don't have any I know of around here. There are some towards NYC and Long Island. Mom says that's what she'll do when she wins the lottery or writes a best-seller! LOL
Mom worked for 12 hours yesterday and I stayed by her side. Kahlua was sad yesterday (not sure why) and pouted in her cage all day. Usually she comes out. Maybe she was tired from watching mom work!
Today it's really gloomy out so we're pretty quiet.
Mom is totally serious about moving. I don't know if you are familiar with where we live, but we are about an hour north of NYC. The county above NYC is expensive! And it's kind of spread up to our county. All the prices have gone up but the salaries haven't kept up. So it's just about impossible for someone to live alone here, even with a decent job. And mom's good with money and doesn't have anything extravagant. It's just gotten too expensive to live in the Hudson Valley. She hates the cold so was thinking if she's going to leave she'll either go south or maybe to Arizona. One of her good friends lives there and loves it (in Peoria, Arizona).
She thinks that now since Grandpa is retired, he might consider moving too. Mom just doesn't want to go anywhere and not know anyone. That's another reason mom wants a telecommuting job -- well jobs, plural -- so she can have that option in the future.
Where do your Parronts want to live? Yes! Mom knows how expensive California is! We aren't that bad yet, but getting pretty close.

The whole flock was snatched out of our apartments yesterday and off to the groomer we went. I did exceptionally well and was actually the best behaved and easiest to groom .... if you can believe that lol.
I just got my nails done ... mom considered a wing trim but decided against it at this time because she didn't want to traumatize me. If you remember I had my wings butchered badly before mom and dad took me in and I would tremble when they spread my wings. Now my wings are fully feathered and I do not tremble when they extend my wings. Mommy says as long as I behave then she will not put me through another wing trim. "I'm a Good Bird" LOL.
I am in full workout for our next baseball game. Mom just laughs at all the energy I have and wishes she could bottle it for herself.
