 My Hatch date is: April 17th, 1998. I never owned a bird before or had one own me either. A friend of mine introduced me to someone who breeds greys. She told me how wonderful a grey could be and what a close bond I would have with such a sensitive soul. So not really understanding what I had I took home my new 13 week grey. Ruby did become the absolute love of my life and more! I did not know a bird could talk like Ruby does and with the intelligence. Ruby truly responds approriatly and without prompting. Ruby has also learned somehow to sence my gran mal seizures a good hour in advance and tells me "Sit, Sit, BREATH!"
She also tells me everyday "did you take your pills?"
she will not stop till she sees me take them. I am so glad I decided that day to bring that cute grey baby home!. |

I am a Congo African Grey from Hanover, PA.
 Ruby Dooby, The Doobs, Rufflebump and Ruby girl because up till we had her sexed a few months ago we thought she "seemed" like a girl to us!

Ruby loves to eat! Oatmeal, eggs, birdie bead, bananas, chicken, pomagranate juice, almonds and sheddable toys.
 Her two play gyms. Her birdie stroller for outdoor walks. I am her favorite perch in the evening!
 Getting toenails clipped.
 I think Ruby would say what she loves best about her "mummy" is the time she spends every day with her. Making all her food, taking her on walks, laughing at all her jokes. Making her (Ruby) very important in the house and in her life. And never letting her get bored, giving her toys, letting her play, reading sparkly books to her. And loving her as much as a Mummy can.
 Ruby likes to whistle the "Indiana Jones" theme song at least 4 times a day!
Giving the dog orders in our voices and laughing when she listens..
 Grey matter MATTERS!!!.

Sure glad you had a wonderful bird day and sounds like quite a party was had by all as well..that is great! Today mom was going to the store and when she came in the door she had a purple hyacinth in a pot. Now what did that have to do with getting groceries I wonder. I think she got side tracked or lost along the way if you ask me. How absolutely wonderful to hear from you! You are looking as handsome as ever- no surprise there. *smile* I'm so sorry to hear that your Mummy has suffered not just one but two strokes. Ah, Ruby. That's not good news at all. But the fact you're helping her recover nicely is. Again, I'm not surprised. You've always been such an inspiration to your Mum. And now, you're inspiring Dreyfus too! LOL about you giving commands when you don't think the pooch is keeping busy enough. From the picture of him there at the counter, I'd say he takes his role as your mom's service dog very seriously. What a handsome fellow you are! What a blessing to your mummy. Does she know why she has seizures? I am so happy you can warn her a full hour in advance, AND that you remind her to take her pills. Mom must have fun trying to remember to show you that she is taking them. I talk to my mom, but she does not always understand what I am telling her, then I "grrrrrrr" at her, she still doesn't get it--but my speech is not as clear as yours.
