Hey Commish K. Captain SamIAm Requesting
....how to get my reserve birds into the play. I have 2 that aren't responding & seem to really have no interest. I'm embarrassed to have to say that but it is what it appears to be. Since I can't get them to respond I'd like to see if putting these 3 in, by rotating me out, would be doable. The two not responding are Jetta & Lucky. I was rather hard on Jetta when he set up a BBQ & lounge chair in left field. Hasn't been back. But I said what I said, and as a captain, not ashamed of discipling a player when needed. I was sorry that I was put in a situation that I'd need to. Anyway, I'd appreciate some help with this. Thank you.

I really eggspreciate that you got back to me so quickly! Thanks for your explanation on the Reserve players and I do understand it! This is my first time coaching so I guess I didn't understand it all but now I'm good!
If, during the season, we see that some players aren't participating at all or very little, is it possible to switch positions? If not, I'll know for next year!

Coach Squeaky here with a question for you? I thought that the Reserve members of each team would be playing in each game. Am I thinking wrong? And would it be possible to start playing the Reserve players. At least on the CJCs Team, my Reserves are chomping their beaks to play. OPENING DAY for the 2013 Season of Birdie Baze~Bol

Although originally planned for this Monday, Opening Day has been moved out one week to allow for the final organizational procedures of several teams to be completed so that they could be finalized and approved to play this Season in The BirdChannel Birdie BazeBol League.

As a necessity, there are plans and procedures that cannot be made until the last of the teams’ rosters are completed and received in the Kommissioner’s Office. We are just receiving those now. I felt it was much more important to make it possible for all Birdies wanting to play in the League this Season to be able to do so than to disallow for their participation by closing the approval deadline too soon. So I made an Executive decision to move the Opening Day, with all of its festivities to …

MONDAY, MAY 13th at 3:00 PM [E] at KEVLAR Memorial Stadium

Opening Day festivities will begin at 2:30 pm on the 13th.

Adjusting for the various time zones, the first pitch will be at

Lodging a Complaint
I would like to submit a formal complaint and request a hearing (though I know it wont do any good - I must raise my feathers and voice anyhow).

I was selected to play on WonderWings team and was later told that according to the rules I could not play because of my "species". I was going to just forget the whole thing but I have become rather depressed and upset and I would like to formally charge the commissioner of Birdie Bazebol of "Species Discrimination".

Discrimination - treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a birdie or thing based on the group, class, or species to which that birdie or thing belongs rather than on individual merit

I am a Cockatoo who wanted to play for a mixed species team as my frother Cappy was already playing for the C2 WhiteHawks (an all Cockatoo Team). Now we didn't want to break any rules but we feel these rules are VERY discriminitory, restrictive and actually reduces the choice and the ability for any birdie to be able to play for their team of choice (if selected by its captain). We feel the commissioner is purposely trying to restrict teams by species and feel it is very inappropriate and downright unfair, especially when allowing mixed team.

Now I have resigned myself from being able to play birdie Bazebol and for playing on a team of my choice because somebirdie else feels that species specific teams are preferable. Sounds pretty much like the Nazi era of the humans if you ask me.

Thanks for the hearing ... I am now going to shut up, color and root for my frother and the C2-WhiteHawks.

Sam Comes By And Knocks On the Door.....
.....I have made it! Sam is tickled because he kept being sent to the Squawkatiel's page over and over again. Sam takes out his "Reminder Book" have Mom checked for dyslexia. Got the address page # 4 & 5 backwards!! Started thinking Mom didn't talk AT ALL to the Commish. Sam is directed to perch and wait his turn and shown some vacant perches. Sam hops up reviewing his notes and questions for the Commish.

Good News First: I have 11 for sure yes'! I'm a happy bird! How long a time should I give birds to respond? Would it be unethical to ask another and they lose their spot?

Numbers?: I've only played one season of bazbol myself and do remember there being something about giving numbers to the Coach, who in turn gives them to you. Exactly what numbers do they choose from (like between one & ten or what?) I remember giving 15 numbers, will it still be the same amount?

Team Page: Will it be okay for me to set up a team page for team members to get their info and details for practices and games there? Since there's only me here at my page, would it be alright to set it up like you are to the stadium?

A FEW GUIDELINES ...
Beginning with the 2013 Season of Birdie BazeBol, as your Commissioner I have committed to honor the wishes of our First Commissioner, Mr Tim, as he and I discussed at the beginning of the 2011 Season, for some changes in the structure of Teams in The League.

The Teams will be composed of a MINIMUM of 12 Players in order to be registered with The League to compete, 10 Starters and 2 Reserves. A MAXIMUM of 14 Players on any one Team has been imposed.

The teams, from this point forward will be required to have Players of all the same Species eggscept for those teams who have played in previous Seasons with a mixture of Species on the same Team. Those PLAYERS will be “grandfathered in” to be allowed to play on their original Team if they so desire. Any new Players added to a Team’s Roster MUST be of the named Species for the Team. (e.g. all Players on the Mighty Macaws must be a Macaw. A variety of SubSpecies is totally acceptable. That would be eggsemplified as Blue-And-Golds, Green-Wings, and any Mini-Macaws all playing on one Team.)

The only eggsception to this Rule would be The BC Wonder Wings Team, established wholly to allow those birdies not having enough available Players of their own Species to form a complete Team. They will be allowed to add Players of any Species where there is not enough birdies of that same Species to form their own Team.

Only one birdie from any one flockily will be allowed to play on the same Team. This does NOT mean that you can only have one member of your flockily playing BazeBol this Season. It only means that no more than one of the same Species can play on the same Team.

This brings me to an important point regarding those birdies who want to play BazeBol only to discover that the Team designated for their Species is full. We wholeheartedly encourage every birdie who is interested in playing to let the Team Captain for your Species know of your desire. If we have as many as 24 birdies of the same Species wanting to play, a second Team will be formed!

(In this case, it would be a matter of “First come, First served” in completing the first Team. So I would strongly advise you to notify your Team Captain of your desire to play as quickly as possible!)

It continues that, should a second Team of any given Species be formed, a second Team Captain would need to step up as the rule from the 2011 Season that no flockily may have more than one Team Captain is still in force.

As it stands, The League has been notified of 12 Teams in the making. FUN!!! But we say “The more the merrier!” and invite you to get out there and talk to all your featheriends who would like to play and make as many teams as we possibly can! All I ask is that you keep me apprised of your intentions so that I can be of any assistance possible in helping you achieve your goal.

Now let’s get out there and start **S*Q*U*A*W*K*I*N’** up the 2013 Season of Birdie BazeBol!!!

We have 10 team members, 2 reserves and are looking for cheerleaders! As a new coach though, I really need to read the guidelines for fielding a team and all the requirements. Please send them when it's convenient.
How many team members may we have as I have one extra that would like to play and ex-coach Kirby thought we could have 14 players but I'm not sure.

Thank you for your patience in allowing me the time to recover from a small physical ailment at the beginning of the year. I am nearly fully recovered and totally available to assist you in any way I can.

I have recently contacted all former Team Captains from the 2011 Birdie BazeBol Season to determine their interest in re-establishing the Teams they Captained previously. I will be publishing their response as soon as I have received confirmation of their intentions for this Season at the top of the Commissioner’s Office Page.

We also have several new Team Captains who have declared their intent to lead a Team into the 2013 Season. They will be included in the list. If you do not see a team forming for your Species listed, either I have not yet heard from the previous Captain or none has been declared and we will be needing somebirdy to step up into that leadership position. If you are interested in Captaining a team, please do not hesitate to contact me for further information. Also, we welcome the possibility of having multiple teams of the same Species if there are more than enough birdies of the same Species to form two teams. Please don’t be held back in your desire to play by the fact that the team of your Species may be full. We will be happy to assist you in looking for enough Players to form a second Team if possible.

If you are already at work forming a Team, please be sure to let me know so that I may give you the guidelines that will be followed for qualifying Players this Season.

I look forward to getting to know, work with, and enjoy watching each and every one of you play this wonderful game of Birdie BazeBol. And my hope is to make it one of the most FUN and REWARDING seasons we’ve had yet.

Sure hope mom's feeling better ! I finally heard from George and although he and fister may be willing to play, their mom doesn't have time to coach. Mr. Polly and I are will to co-coach - what do we do now ? We haven't recruited a full team yet, but we're working on it !
