 Mom:
Was surprised by family at Christmas time as a gift. The pet store that he was bought from did not take very good care of him. He ate only seed while he was there, and he was not hand tame nor used to humans, and was housed with all the other birds there (except for the budgies, doves, and finches. He now eats pellets and has gained to his proper weight and is happy and healthy! I am now working on getting him to eat his vegetables.
Vote me BOTM sometime!!!! My mommy would love a chance for me to be BOTM. I would be honored if I ever got that position. And thanks to everybirdy for voting me BOTD! I really appreciate it!

What a ball game yesterday! Congratulations to the Phoenix Base Flyers, you pulled off a great win, but the Rainforest Raiders have nothing to be ashamed of. With the way they're playing, they won't lose many games this year.
Mom had 3 tours today, and she says if you have to have 3, this is the way to go: she had different grade levels and different subjects for each tour. We got the fountain up and running last night, too, so it looks pretty outside now, and we'll be able to hear the water when we go outside with mom. Today it's bright and sunny so we might get out, if mom gets our blogs done in time. Thanks, we appreciate that!
The parronts had a tense afternoon and evening yesterday. A 48 year old woman on drugs decided to take a lighter and start a fire in a field near here. (She was, of course, arrested.) The fields are very dry, fire danger is high and the fire grew rapidly. We are very grateful for the rapid response from the fire crews. Helicopters made trips back and forth to dump water on the fire as well. Early evening the parronts found out they were in no danger and crews were just monitoring hot spots. Mom saw the damage today. It had actually moved away from us but toward other homes. We love where we live, but fire is always a possibility so mom keeps our travel cages nearby. Birds and dogs first, pictures if she has time, the rest isn't important!

Sorry I was so long in visiting again. Momma Deb hasn't forgot about helping you with your BOTM campaign. We, the SKY flock are so busy with baseball this season we don't get much visiting time.
As for topics. HAve Mom make a list of things she enjoys talking about--i.e. where you live, birds?? species, history, etc or any other topic you finding interesting to discuss. Then from the list think which one or two you could find the MOST information about. You need to blog every day for the month.
It is good to start making friends now but visiting birds you see on other bird's pages and saying hi. The more supporters you gather the greater chance you will make BOTM.
NOT every bird who runs makes it to the BOTM title. YOU MUST send thank you notes for every vote either on their own or with the daily blog.
You can also pick multi subjects and talk about something for a day or ??? then do another topic.
The whole point is to discipline yourself to blog every bird daily regardless. It takes hours to get done but in the end you will be thankful for your hard work.
NOW is the time to start blogging to make friends who will support your campaign.
There is a voters list but it has to be emailed--birds, dogs, horses and cats that will vote daily or often for you.

I sure missed you and I'm glad you're back! Don't worry when you can't blog, we know things happen. Mom will have her grands for 10 days starting next Wednesday. If you don't hear from us, you'll know why!
That's a very good thing no one was hurt in the accident and it is always nice to have your own vehicle back even though it may be fun to drive something different for a change.
Squirrels can be pesky, but mom really likes watching them. They crack her up even though they take some of the jays peanuts. She's actually had the wild turkeys take the peanuts too. She's a little worried about that as they swallowed them whole in the shell and doesn't know if they can pass them so she makes sure to put them where they can't get them now. Mackie is actually afraid of the squirrels and will yell at them or fly off her perch, sometimes both. I don't understand that. I just ignore them.

Not to generalize, but I do think women like red cars. My mom has a red SUV and she loves it and lots of women tell her they like it too. That's why she thinks it's a girl thing.
Really sorry that your parronts got into an accident though. Everyone is ok, right? That's the most important thing, of course.
Yesterday there were two bucks drinking at the back fountain while the turkeys hung out on the hillside like they owned the place. We have lots of squirrels, fox tails and ground squirrels, and I bet we're gonna see babies very soon. They come out and box each other and roll around on the hillside - squirrel TV. When mom puts out peanuts in the shell for her jay buddies (both scrub and stellars), the squirrels always manage to steal a few. Mom's also noticed they have been digging them up where the jays had already cached them. Jay vs squirrel, ongoing...

Mom put Chelsea Possum's pic up finally! Also, on all of our pages, you can see pics of our flowers out front. Some are the tulips that are just fading now, the rest are the new baskets and a succulent garden that mom is experimenting with for the summer, hoping to take it in this fall. Mom is actually off tomorrow! She traded tomorrow with next Friday, for an earlier day off, but she and her sis will be gone for part of the day, buying more flowers. But, the rest of the day will be ours! Yeah Chet it is the same here maybe a slight bit cooler..Mom did look up that article on the internet and found it.Beautiful bird it was a Bahama Woodstar Hummingbird and it was in Denver, Pa. Never hear of Denver before and do not know where it is located.Sometimes when you have to get a rental car because your auto is being repaired they give you a really nice one that you do like. Red is a nice color for a car..Our Jeep SUV is silver not to bad....No you did not say anything about Mom being gone for the month of June. We love those round numbers.
Mom will definitely look into Montana. She's not too fond of humidity having lived in California for 40 years now, but she is a native Texan and where she was born is very humid. She does love Texas though.

No Chet, Mom did not read about that but she does not get the Express Times she only gets the Morning Call here and did not see it in that paper. She really loves hummingbirds and every year we have feeders out for them from May until October. She just made nectar for them last night so we can hang out one feeder until she sees they have arrived for the Summer. It sounds very pretty and your mom sure is excited to go visit. Sure hope she has a super time while there.
Mom and dad are starting to look at states to consider for retirement. Montana is on the list, and mom doesn't mind the snow, just not TONS of it.
Skin bro turned 30 today and was here yesterday for dinner. He's very sweet to us and the dogs and it makes mom and dad very happy when he's here so it was a nice visit. On Monday, skinsis turns 33. Mom keeps wondering where the time has gone, certainly gone by very quickly that's for sure!

You're nearly at 300 now! We love seeing spring flowers, too. Today mom did 3 cultures tours with 2 sixth grade groups, both of which had a pretty good handle on Egypt. She likes doing this age group, because they know a little more and aren't yet teens who have to prove their indifference. It's late, though, so we're gonna be short. Yes Monday was a beautiful day and it did not get real warm here only about 70. Today it is starting out as a nice one but they said it will cloud up by late afternoon and rain will be moving in for a couple of day but the temps are to stay around 70.Yeah this kind of weather with all the buds on the trees throws off a lot of pollen and people who have allergies sure do suffer.
