At the petstore, I looked for the perfect budgie, but found none. Untill like a luminous light shone Archie in the center of the cage of birds, with his bright eyes and brilliant green feathers, the perfect blue cere. It was love at first sight..

Hi! My name is In Memory of: Archie and Mel

The cage, but he loved being
with me too. *Archie*
The cage. *Mel*

Archie was the sweetest bird I ever new. He had none. *Archie*

Mel was a canary, a tiny canary. He wasn't tame, and the world frightened him. I hope that answers the question. *Mel*

Archie loved it when I was always nearby. Whenever he was eating millet and it fell over the cage, he ran to the edge and motioned for me to retrieve it. whenever he wanted to go somewhere else, he'd walk up to me and look up at me and cock his head. Whenever he was hungry he'd chirp at me. I always listened to him. *Archie

Melody didn't love me. I did. Infact, I was quite concerned about him. He looked so... miserable. Sad. He looked like he was aware it wasn't worth living. *Mel*

I loved Archie. I love Archie. He was the sweetest. He was 100.9% tame. He was great at singing and climbing, and he sang all day. I miss his chirping. It's not the same without him. He was always looking for a mate. He fell in love with Cocky, (a.k.a. Fenix) my cockateil! As soon as I put Cocky the newbie in the
cage, she was immediately welcomed by Archie, as he walked up to him, head high, tail low, feathers fluffed, and began to sing. Cocky rejected Archie and pecked at him. Archie was left alone. When my bird Sarah was dying, alone and lying at the cage's bottom, Archie climbed down, "hugged" Sarah and kissed her. She died the next night. Archie was left alone. Archie loved to be fed. He new "up" and "down" and woudn't get of my finger untill I said "up." He loved to kiss me and hang out on my shoulder. The night he died, I asked my mother, "Wich one? Wich one is dead?" "I don't know," she responded, "but I think I saw some green in the feathers." I cried. I woudn't speak the whole night. When I arrived home, I kissed Archie goodnight, good-bye, and slept myself.

I don't know what I'm going to do with Zia and Skylar. They mean little to me without Archie.

I miss him. *Archie*

I knew the suddon change of homes woud stun Mel, more than he already looked. Espacially since he lost a friend when he came home with me. I was twelve. I'm thirteen now, but when I was twelve, I was different. I was too young. I treated Mel like an old rag doll that you try to take good care of but you just can't seem to do it right. I don't know if it was my fault, but one day my mom noted Mel's foot was swollen. I panicked. It was probably my fault! I did everything I could to help Mel. But it was to late. I came home about to days later and Mel was lying in the cage, struggling to breath. I held him to my arms. We stould there like that, Mel and I. I looked into his eyes. I swore he looked back. He took a rasping breath. "Goognight, Mel." One last breath. He closed his eyes and slept. I made a coffin and decorated it the next day. And cried.

Mel was no singer, but inside, he was a true Melody Canary. But that one day, my mother said, but that one day that she said she heard Mel sing a wonderful tone. Probably crying for a friend.

Goodnight, Mel. *Mel*
