It was a close game, but the CJCs lost. Congratulations to the Wonder Wings, though, they played a good game. Mom just got home from her 2 tours today, and she is finishing our blogs before she goes outside to finish the planting. Maybe we'll get to go out with her a little later. It's a beautiful sunny day here, with temps in the high 70s or maybe low 80s. Chet, 249961, is having his very first hatchday today, let's go tell him to have a happy one! It's not hard to use numbers: at the top of the page you can see www.birdchannel.com/blog, etc. Your number is at the end of that string, and your number is 254256. Can you see it? Okay, go to the end of that line and backspace to where your number begins, after apid=, then enter the baseball page number which is 239836 and hit the arrow or the go or whatever you have there. It will take you to the baseball page. Oh, once you do that, it should be in the memory, too.
Today it's warm and sunny, and mom has to go to the museum for a tour. She still has some things to plant, so hopefully the sun and warm will last until she gets home. The CJCs play their first game today, so be at the stadium for a chance to get the prize inside! You know how CrackerJack always had a neat prize? Well, the conures will have them at some of the games this year as well. We're not saying what today's prize is, just show up at the stadium for a chance to begin collecting them all. Uncle Chuck is Jenny Lynn's dad, not really my uncle. He makes and sends toys to a lot of BC birdies, so we all call him Uncle. Jenny is BOTD today, so you can get to her page by clicking on her pic.
It was cold here for 2 days, with frost warnings at night, but today it's 82 degrees! Mom is hoping to plant those things she got last Friday, at last! I want to go to the game though, there are 2 good teams playing today.
This morning mom did a repeat of Monday, complete with raccoons painting themselves and their cages with food. The red tailed hawk stood between mom and its meal leftovers this morning, which she has never seen in all her years there. At noon she went to the museum to hear an assistant curator of vertebrate paleontology, Matt LaManna, talk about early birds from the Cretaceous, and learned a whole lot about our origins. It seems modern bird lines arose in Antarctica! It makes sense, the birds there were already used to harsh conditions and extended periods of dark. Anyway, it was a pretty cool lecture, and the docents might get a cast out of it! Mom asked Matt if they could have a cast of gansus for the dinosaur hall, and he said send him an email and he'd get one made!

Hi Storm
Well, my brother's team won yesterday, and today my team won! We beat the Mighty Macaw Team!!! They are so much bigger than we are.
We had a frost overnight, but mom covered all the new plants, so we were okay. This morning, she had 2 tours in the museum, one in dinosaurs, and one about animal adaptations. Then it was off to the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions, and finally here to blog.
Congrats to the Pois for winning their first game. Today the Kevlar Keets (Willie's team) and on Thursday the CJCs (Falco's team) are playing. We are anxious to see how the new teams perform, too.

I forgot to mention a big thanks to Taz for doing the awards for the milonga Saturday night, sorry. So here's our thanks for a job well done!
Mom cleaned for the wild red tailed hawk this morning, then finished the morning with the RVS animals. RVS means rabies vector species, so she cleaned and fed mostly raccoons (about 2 dozen!), ground hogs and foxes today. She enjoys the babies, but they're funny too. As she finished the room, she turned back to check the cages one last time, and some of the cages looked as though they had never been done, because the babies painted the fresh food all over themselves and the cage.

Looking forward to seeing you at the games, then. Season starts on Monday, 2:30 eastern time with opening ceremonies. I'll have my team pic up tomorrow. Mom is doing an outdoor event today for the wildlife center, and it's raining. The weather guessers said it would end by 9, but guess what? They are wrong again. Maybe there will be a canopy. At least she's not taking an animal with her to get soaked. Hope you have a great day, and if you're coming to the milonga tonight, see you there.
