Carly and her cagemate Cricket were breeder birds for a small bird store near me that closed last year. The owners didn't want to sell them so they adopted them out. No one really wanted them; it was more like "well, I'll take them if no one else wants them." My husband and I heard about them being available and we really wanted them! It was great that they were being adopted out also because our other 2 birds are rescues (as are all our pets). The budgies are great; they are definitely in their own world together, not hand-tamed at all. But they sing to each other and chatter alot which provides a nice contrast to our Nanday Conure (who is of course very loud) and our Citron-crested Cockatoo (who is surprisingly quiet but does talk and shrieks occasionally during the day with flock calls).. Hi! My name is Carly

I am a Budgerigar from East Hampton, CT.

8 years old   F

Millet, millet, millet

The uppermost wooden perch in the cage

Not sure but she gets into squabbles with her "husband" Cricket - he must do something to annoy her because she squawks at him

She lets me do my own thing with my cagemate and doesn't make me become hand-tamed. She has me in a big flight cage and doesn't clip my wings so I can fly around all day.

She hogs the food dish so I have to put down a separate food dish for the male Budgie or he would starve!.

Make your own music and be who you are!.
