We saw our birds on craigslist and went to see them. We got there and were in shock. The poor birds didn't even have names. They were super sad and not taken care of. We left went to dinner and prayed about it. The birds stayed on my mind. We decided the next day we would call the lady back and buy both birds. They hadn't been out of their cage in 6 years no toys were hanging in their cage! It was so sad. The cage was very dirty. After many prayers at 930 pm our phone started ringing the lady called and said she would sale us both African greys (timneh and congo) and the cage for the price of one. The birds hissed and couldn't be handled at all. They have feathers missing but despite their condition we went back on the road for a 6 hour trip a and got the birds. They are now on a road to recovery. We are working with them everyday. They still bite and are afraid of everything. They seem much happier now and have toys to play with. And, their previous owner says she is amazed at how different they are acting at our house. We have set up their first vet visit ever. It will be Friday. We have separated them due to the fact that the congo has plucked the timneh's head hair completely off. She seems much happier in her own cage. This is our story..... Awards

  Hi There!
Welcome to Bird Channel.
We voted for you today.
Please check us out too.
Cheeky came from a pet store (that was before Mom knew better) and PeeWee was just adopted last month from The Melbourne Avian Rescue Sanctuary (M.A.R.S) in Melbourne Beach FL. Our Mom volunteers there now. Some of our friends there including PeeWee had really unhappy lives before they came to live at M.A.R.S. We are SOOOOOOOOOOO happy you found a new forever home!!!!!
We would love to hear more about your new life. PeeWee was really unhappy when he came to live with us. It took a little patience but now he is one of the family and loves to play, whistle, dance and take baths in the garden. Please join M.A.R.S. on facebook and post updates for us!!! or
