My dear husband had seen Alex in one of those chain pet stores. We went there ostensibly to buy cat litter, and he pointed out the "cute little sun conure" who was doing what I later found was an aggressive 'dance' on the cage bars. Somehow that turned into "Why don't be buy him? What's one more?" (I later found he'd gone to the store the day before and had even had pictures of him on his cell phone. I suspect I was set up... ) Alex had been very severely clipped, and evidently had been so before he ever got to fly, as he would fall and never flap a wing. He had broken all his tailfeathers at one point. I had to teach him to flap his wings and to fly by gently tossing him a few feet over a soft couch. He learned to fly but didn't land very well. In fact, he first landed by grabbing with his beak and then 'chinning up' to the bar with his feet. It was so funny. But by my spending so much time with him, he bonded with me instead of my husband.. Awards

Hi! My name is Alejandro (Alex)

I am a Sun Conure from Youngsville, NC.

5 years old   M

Sun Conure

Pine nuts

Anywhere Maks is. He screeches loud contact calls if they are separated.

Green Cheeked Conures (sadly, except for Conner, who he was in love with)

I love Alex because he's so much fun. He's a little clown with feathers and very playful. He's sweet and affectionate.

Alex is openly gay. He had a long romance with Conner before Auna managed to seduce Conner away from him. When Conner died suddenly, Alex became very depressed, not wanting to get out of his cage or play. He then bonded with Maks. He often preens Maks and they share a cage together..

"Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!".
