She's a rescued parrot. Her previous owners no longer wanted her, and when they surrendered their blue-crown conure to me, they spontaneously decided to give her up too (surprise!).. Awards

Hi! My name is Merlin

I am an Amazon from Fort Worth, TX.

Big Bird

28 years old   F

Peaches and cream oatmeal, almonds, the occasional cashew or pistachio

I have a king-sized bed with a wrought-iron frame/canopy. The canopy bars come from the 4 corners and curve up towards the center meeting in a circle. It's a great bird walkabout, and she LOVES it. I cover the bed and she goes a-walking or just sits on high, very content to be out of her big cage and hanging out on top of the world.

She doesn't mom's fingers stuck in her cage, or for cute little boy birds like my Indian ringnecks to be in the general vicinity. It makes her twitterpated!

My owner sings and talks back and forth with me because I love the "let's imitate!" game. She fixes me yummy dinners of veggies, meat and rice or noodles, or peaches & cream oatmeal. She feeds me her custom food that's different kinds of nuts, fruit, peppers, seed, greens, bee pollen and other goodies she blends together. She even covers her king bed with a special flannel sheet then puts me on the special metal canopy so I can be high and walk around, since I'm kind of claustrophobic. I love her for this!

She laughing out loud; she grabs her own right leg when she's irritated; she quotes from the movie "The Crow"; when she's happy she sings Happy Birthday, talks in a high, happy voice, and/or takes a big messy bath!.

Hi, Merlin!.

  Very fortunate
We had one but my son came in one morning when it was still dark and left the back door open, so my rottweilers came in and spooked her and since we never put him inside his cage she flew out the door and needles to say what happened. We voted for you Molly and myself (we only count for one vote) cause we would like to see you be the bird of the day. Good luck and come visit when you can.

Come visit me, Molly.
