My cockatiel died of old age and me and my husband decided we had to get a new bird - we were sad and it was too quite around the house. So we looked at PetSmart - they only had 1 conure of questionable age... There were no bird stores around here so I turned to craigslist. African greys had always been my dream bird because of their intelligence. And I found a listing for one - he was just weaned to solid foods, had been genetically sexed male, had his vaccinations, came with a huge cage, had a ring on his foot and just seemed to be ideal in all regards. So we drove to see him and get to meet the owner. The owner was a very nice lady who had all kinds of other birds and said she was sad that she had to let him go but him and the macaw weren't getting along. But none of it mattered - when me and the bird saw each other we both were 'lovestruck'. He refused to get off my arm and insisted on me petting him the whole time my husband spent talking to his owner - I was really out - I knew I should be asking questions but I also knew there was no way I wasn't getting that bird. It's been a bit over 2 months now - and Loki seems to be a very happy bird - he whistles, says his and my names, and makes a variety of sounds including my laughter. Me and him are very in-tune.. Thank you for stopping by :) I figured I'd also include a link to my cafepress page where I've posted 2 of my parrot designs (congo and timneh greys) available on a variety of stuff from tshirts to glasses. The only reason I'm even mentioning is that I know how hard it is to find cute sruff with an African grey on it and eventually I just gave up and made my own and ordered it :)) So I figured if there are people in my situation I should let them know where to look :). I will probably make more designs and of other parrots as well but for now it's just the 2 greys :)

Come visit me, George & Loki.
