Hi again lovely Cluny, you may not know it, but your mom sure speaks highly of you, to other people and parrots, and why not, you are a gorgeous Ring-Necked Dove! For as easy as you guys are to share a home with, and as pretty as you are, and as pleasant as you sound, my dad said he could never have one own again, because he said he was afraid he couldn't be totally fair to another Dove, that he would always be comparing it to his beloved Van Dyke, no beak, no feathers, and no song by any birdy will ever replace that bird! I didn't know the little fellow, but I can assure you that there was never a bird on God's earth, that was loved more than him. We gotta rush young lady, hope the Summer is being good to you, and since you were our last Kalas family vote for today, we are going to head for home, say hi to our buddy Pascal and the rest of your flock, and here's a big TooZon hug for you...

CLUNY LADY- another V4U-Jen & Christy
Hello pretty little Dove girl, we haven't left you a note for a few days, and while we vote for your feathered family everyday, it seems we don't always have time to stop and chat, so here's a little note with your vote, with a wish that your Summer Vacation time with your mom is going great as well as with your flock mates. I've heard my dad say that if there was ever one sound he could never get tired of, it would be the cooing of his precious little boy Dove, and friend of over 15 years, when he finally left for the Rainbow Bridge, my dad could not be comforted by anything or anybody for weeks and weeks, I wasn't here yet, but Christy told me that every day after work, dad would go out and kneel at the sacred final resting place of his beloved bird and brush the leaves away while he was talking to somebody that couldn't be seen, sometimes he still does that to this day.
Not much news here, dad's been keeping busy making more parrot toys and Christy and I have been diong what we always do, looking sweet and fighting for dad's attention, which is not necessary, he gives us equal time, he's so good about that. We gotta fly little Dove friend, stay cool and say hi to your flock for us, until next time...

Hi Cluny, we drop off a vote for you and your fiblings almost daily, but it's been awhile since we said hi on our way by! dad's been busy making more birdy toys for rescue parrots and not spending as much time with me, but I can always see him through the Garage door and the kitchen windows to the sun room, he wouldn't let me go out there today because he had the ceiling fan on, and he never leaves me alone for very long, oh well he only does it for a few hours every other day, and all the rest of his time is spent with little old green me. Gotta rush off pretty lady, but we'll be back for another chat...

You are the shower flock, aren't you? Our mom had a pair of white doves, Grendel and Lula, but she didn't have a good set up for them. A lady in North Florida had an outdoor aviary and mom let them go live there. Now she likes to see that other folks have doves with them too. Soothingly Entertaining!
A delight to hear back from you, Cluny. It sounds as though your home is filled with a cacophony of sounds, yours being a sweet one among the chorus. Having never met an loud, aggressive male dove I struggle to imagine just what he might act like. Here I was under the assumption that ALL doves were Peaceful! Shows why 'assuming' not always a wise thing to do! *chuckle-chuckle* about the description of the pigeon; Maniac! Now, I can see that one... I have my moments, you might say. If I might ask, was the pigeon a wild rescue or from a bird rescue organization? There were pigeons here at my house once; a whole flock of them, but that was years before I arrived on the scene. They were allowed free-flight in the neighborhood (a whole 5 house community in the middle of cornfields!) and would come home every night to roost. When my mom went away on a two week vacation they apparently went looking for her 'cause they left and never came back. Guess that might explain why, when mom goes away now she puts us parrots in cages! So we won't go looking for her!! You're right, I do work at keeping my mom entertained- leading her to believe I'm amusing helps win points in the popularity contest that goes on here constantly! My! You are a beautiful gal! What a lovely photograph you have on display. I believe that lamp has not served a better purpose than to be a lovely perch for you in this pose! I myself enjoy a good photo session; being the center of attention is quite amusing!! I've come by your page in a quest to meet members of Pascal's flock. He and I met, oddly enough, in Chicago on a victory tour with BOTW Buddy. Upon discovering that we are neighbors I thought it appropriate to jet about here and introduce myself! My mom would love it if I'd learn to coo like you... she says it's one of the most beautiful sounds. sad news
Hi friends, sorry this is a ‘group message’ but we don’t have time to write this all individually because mum has had a shocking day. when mum and uncle got up to give Rupert his meds they found him dead on his cage floor. This is the worst day and mum has been crying a lot. Rupert went to bed fine yesterday and took down his medication, but he was just too far gone from what the people did to him before and couldn’t make it even with everything being done. This is an example of what happens when people catch birds from the wild. Mum and I and uncles are going away on holidays on Friday, it was planned month in advance. Yoogoos is going to stay at aunt Nellie’s for the week, while Umberto, the two turtles (Neptune and Swartz) and the two rehab lories (Rhubarb and Rutger) will be staying at home with Grammie under her care. I’m going with mum and the uncles on the holiday. I will not be much of a holiday now with Rupert gone. Even though we only rescued him on the 24th this month and had him till the 30th, he was much loved and we wanted to see him fly free again. Even though mum thought he might pass, and tried to prepare herself for the possibility it was still a depressing shock. We’ll be back home in 1 week from the end of this week and back on BC shortly after. Thanks for your support and prayers for Rupert, he has gone to a better place, and in a depressing irony we suppose he is flying free now, but at the cost of his life... may the people that did this to him somehow get what they deserve. My that is so very interesting, that your mom is a professor, well, my mum has the utmost respect for intellectuals, lecturers, Dr's and professors, since she sees the acquisition of knowledge, and, enlightenment as being the most important things in life. Mum studies b. of communication, majoring in media arts. She also is a film and music critic for a magazine; it’s not a big one but its still cool! She hopes to write for another, bigger one, soon. Mum is very interested in film, art, literature and cultural works. She finds it very hard since not many people her own age share these interests and would prefer to waste time on mindless things like drinking and partying. Mum likes a drink every now and then, but more to savour the flavour of a fine bevarage, rather than drink cheap spirits to get blind. She has only one good girl friend her own age that likes these things. Mum's favourite works come from 18th c. England, she especially loves William Blake, he is her favourite, she loves neo-classical literature and is trying to learn more about it. Mum doesn’t know any French literature, but maybe your mom could teach her about it? Where does your mum work? Has she written any books mum can read? What did your mom like when she was 20? Heheh i know, sometimes it sucks living in aus! I live with percy a lorikeet and a canary, yoogoos, i refuse to eat anything other than seed, and what mum can sneek into my seed mix. she's gunna keep trying though! thats such a cool way to get a name! where does ur momma teach? my mum's parents are from germany and poland. But mum was born here. Hello from Fortune, St. Patrick D' bird and Lonnie
Hey Everybirdie, Happy 10 day birthday Baby Zebra Finch!!!!!! Lonnie here, just wish you could see proud Beep and Peep, his Zebra parents. They are now able to leave the nest together sometimes... Mom took a new pic this morning. It is on Patrick's page with the other pics... He is growing fast. Our cage is now next to the Zebra cage. Hope Ellie is taking notes.
