 I found Remy an African Grey, about 2yrs old on craigs list. The girl I got him from is a former Petsmart employee. In 12/06 some people where at a local Park, and found this bald bird running round, cold hungry, and scared to death. they where kind enough to pick him up in a towel and take him to pet smart, Where this cared bird met Kimberly. She had such a big heart and took him to the vet and cared for him and gave him his first real home. He started growing his feathers back and started to like people, Unfortunately Kim had to change jobs and couldn't give this little Grey all the attention and love she knew he deserved. I guess you just get a gut feeling when you know It's ment to be. I fell in love with this bird before I knew anything about him. Kim and I E-mailed back and forth, she sent me a pitcure of him and my heart was his. Remy is such a joy our family loves him. I'm the only one he'll let scrath him or pick him up, but,he loves to have everybody come talk to him and play with him and he really, really loves to get treats. We've only had him a month,and hes got dozens of new feathers coming in around his neck,and he stepping up already( I wasn't expecting him to do his so quick)
I thank the peolpe for having the compation to taking him to Petsmart, and to Kim for being Remy's angel, and love him enough to let him go. She'll never know how much I love this bird.. |

I know the feeling
Thanks for the vote, and I'm so happy in my new home, I still have a little respiratory inf, but my new mommy keeps me warm, and feeds me very well. I'm growing a couple of new feathers on my back, and just a few on my front. Sly here. One Grey to another....the paper is always better. But best yet is an old phone book. Yeah, those you can get a lot of confetti out of!!Or dad's shoes if you can sneak them. Mom get's real mad about that tho.

Here is a vote from a fellow Grey. I have a Pi for a friend too. He tries to steal my treats from our playstand I do not like that so much. I am top bird around here though at least according to me.

It's been a heck of a summer
So it's the end of the month, and fall is finally starting to settle upon us here. Summer went by so fast for me. I lost my second home and found my third. I've been with my new mom now for about five months and I've really started to settle in. The leaves are starting to change color. Lots of red, orange and yellow. It's very pretty in NH this time of year. Apple picking is coming to a close so mom is hoping to get some picking in soon (not that I like apples all that much, but they are one of Pippins favorites). The weather is surprisingly still very warm, but mom and I hear that is soon to change. Whether we like it or not snow is on it's way, brrr! We've has some baby birds come and go and now the house is relatively quiet again. I hope you've had a wonderfull summer and fall, and I'll talk to you soon. Remy you are such a lucky bird to find someone who cares about you so much. It makes me sick to think someone didn't care about you and discarded you that way but now you seem to have a wonderful home. I would love to see more pictures of you.Come visit me, Merlin.

Dear Remy, Welcome to the bird channel! It is fun to meet other bird friends here. I have a problem with feather plucking, it all started when my first mom died. I think my first dad kind of was sad and did not pay as much attention to me. Now I live with his daughter and her family. Life is good except for that boxer dog and the crazy cat. I stare at them and they leave me alone. I see that you are a secretarial bird, filing, working on the computer, and throwing stuff in the trash. You must be great help around the office. Good morning to you. Thanks again for stopping by. I just wanted to say its great that you are now with a family that is taking good care of you and that love you. I am really sorry to hear about you and your awfull past. I am sure your new mom and family will be take wonderful care of you. They seem to be a fantastic family.
I guess I have it made over here. My mommy's adopted me when I was born so I don't have any bad situations with them. They have been taken wonderful care and I get to do what every I'd like. Well sometime, lol.
I like to tease the cats, my mommy's laugh at me cause I talk alot and say things that don't make sense which is half of the time. I pick up certain stuff when my mommy's talk and when they have company.
I pretty much the talk of the day or night. I like the attention.
I can also be annoying at times. My mommy tells me that I am full of $#!T. lol
Although I love to cuddle when it is down time. Mommy always says that I am her little girl.
I love to take showers/bath. I like to play with my toys and I like to be out and about while my mommy's do their chores around the house.

love the bew pics
Mom's letting me write really quik before she goes off to work. Just had to pop in and say good morning. Don't feel to bad I bit my new mom a couple of times till I got used to her. But you know us Amazons I still give her a run for her money on occasion. By the way the new pictures are great! I'll talk to you later.

Hello my name is Ollie, just wanted to introduce myself. Kudos to you for finding not one but two loving homes! It's great that your feathers are growing in. Greenbeans huh...I don't know I'm not too fond of veggies. Mom trys to give them to me everyday, but I just love my pellets, and chicken. Heres a vote, I'll talk to you soon.
