 Well it was almost a year after my Mom brought my brother Picasso home that she once again went to Teena's for bird food and the unthinkable happened. Out of nowhere this beautiful white bird came flying through the store and landed right on my mom's shoulder. Guess who it was??? It was me of course! You see, my previous owner said I was just too loud for her and she brought me to Teena's for her to find me a good home. Well after I landed on Mom's shoulder and leaned down for a big kiss and a head rub it was all over! I turned on the charm full blast cuz I could tell she was the one. I lifted up my wing and let her stroke me and just kept dishing out those kisses. Teena told my mom and dad about my sad story. I was originally purchased by a woman who loved me very much but then she had grandchildren and I became very jealous of them stealing all her attention. She then gave me to my next owner who loved me very much too but just didn't realize what being a cockatoo was all about. I was 2 years old and had already been in 2 homes. My poor mom just couldn't believe it and she couldn't bear to have anything else happen to me. My mom and dad ended up walking out of the store with me that day and I am the happiest girl in the world. (Of course I am still pretty loud but I am a Goffin Cockatoo after all and I need to make sure I always have someone's complete attention.). |

Hiya Daisy....
My mom thinks I'm beautiful too. I've worn an e-collar 3 times now. My feathers all grow back and then I pluck them out again. Mom went through the bird store the other day with the owner trying to find more toys that I could pluck instead of me. Alls I can say is, I sure like getting new toys all the time....but I go back to plucking again. I'm getting pretty good at it. I can even pluck while I'm standing on mom's shoulder. Mom says it's a wonder I don't start saying, "don't pluck your 'fea-ders!'" coz that's what she says all the time. Anyway, here's another vote for ya! Hey there Daisy, I'm so happy you found your forever home. I like the swing you have, maybe I can talk mom into getting me one. Right now I'm being pretty noisy. We met Picasso and NOTOE so we thought we'd say hi to you too!! You are so sweet..what a way to win a Mom and Dad over!!! Sometimes you have to turn on the charm! What's a little noise when you get kisses and lovin all the time, right? I'm pretty quiet except for talking, but Lil Bird and squawk once in a while. He's a character and loves to give kisses.
